McMartin Tree Services recently trimmed a very large stone pine in our backyard. With El Nino rains approaching, I couldn’t get a call back from other tree services, but John called back promptly, and we arranged an estimate within a few days. The estimate was reasonable, and John completed the work a week later. His crew did a beautiful job cleaning up the tree without over-​trimming it. Both our yard and our neighbor’s yard (underneath the tree) were left in great shape. John is good at communicating with clients, he is extremely knowledgeable about tree care, and we definitely plan to call him again.

Excellent service! John returned our call almost immediately (unlike several others we contacted). He was professional, knew all of the trees we showed him, gave us advice on how to care for them, and gave us an accurate price. Then, he showed up on the day of the job on time with a crew ready to handle the job in a quick and efficient manner. I really can’t say a bad thing about them… And I’ll definitely be using them again!

Highly recommend McMartin Tree Experts — when I first called & left a message, John called back promptly & was here to give estimate within an hour. He gave us a very fair estimate to trim & shape all our shrubs, and to cut back a citrus tree, he also evaluated a Birch that has suffered from lack of water due to restrictions (he is an Arborist). On the day work was to be done, he was here on time, completed everything, cleaned up and was finished in 3 hours. Everything done looks great ! We had a good experience with McMartin Tree Experts. Mr McMartin was prompt in returning our call for an estimate, and was professional and friendly in our dealings. Same could be said for the crew that did the work on our property. They arrived in the morning, went to work right away, did a wonderful job trimming all the trees on our property, especially the pine that always worries me about getting its branches caught in the power lines. They cleaned everything up nicely and were done by lunch. The estimate was lower than the other companies we checked with, they were professional, prompt and did a great job with our trees. What’s not to like? I’d definitely recommend them to others and ask them to come back next time our trees need attention.

John has been our expert tree service provider for well over 10 years. He and his crew have kept our various kinds of trees, which are 50+years old, in beautiful condition. He also takes care of our hedges and shrubs. He is s certified arborist who continually attends trade shows to keep up on the latest trends in order to provide excellent service. The crew cleans up and takes away all of the cuttings, logs and debris. He keeps our grounds in South Pasadena picture perfect!

We have a huge California Like be Oak and didn’t want a hack job done to the tree. It’s beautiful and we love it. Mike is reasonably priced and provided Excellent service. Excellent job on the tree. We are very, very pleased with Mike and his team.

I tried calling twice and apparently they do not have office staff because it went to voice mail both times. I left my number two days in a row and never received a call back. Needless to say if it starts out this bad I won’t be using their service.

I live in the City of Los Angeles where I had to get a permit to trim two Chinese Elm trees and I had to follow all these rules. John knew the rules and did a fantastic job. My fruit trees are beautiful now after their much needed professional «haircut». I had been using the run-​of-​the-​mill tree cutting services, but noticed that my trees did not seem to flourish. So this year, I decided that my trees deserve better. I needed a trained professional, which is what John is. He is a trained and certified arborist and he will take time doing the job well. His crew cleaned up as he goes along, and was even happy to comply when I asked to save some fruits from the cut branches. Thank you, John.

This company (I spoke with Jim) was dead set on winning my business. He quoted me the lowest price out of the 10+ quotes I received to remove my tree. The reason for the 4-​stars (instead of 5-​stars) is because I told him to start the job at a specific time but he ended up starting a half hour earlier which interrupted my sleep a little. It took about 3 hrs to completely remove the tree including the stump.

They responded very quickly to our request for a quote, made a very fair offer, and showed up on time. Did an excellent job trimming 7 – 10 trees in front and back, and will definitely use them again.

I called Mr McMartin after talking to some other tree services because I was having trouble getting someone to show up to give me a estimate. I got Mr McMartin on the first ring and was able to set a appointment and even though I ran 15 minutes late for our meeting he was gracious enough to wait. He gave us a price that fit our budget to clean up ten years of neglect at our Mom’s house and he came the next day with several guys and got it all done and hauled away in four hours. Mr McMartin did a wonderful job for us and he kept and met his promises he made to us and we could not be happier. Thank you Mr. McMartin we will never use anyone else but you for our trimming needs.

I scheduled our appointment with Mr McMartin on a Friday afternoon and took a half day off work so I could be with my father-​in-​law to discuss the work we wanted done. I drove 1 ½ hours from south Orange County to Pico Rivera in congestion, concerned that I might be late. Well, guess what. Mr McMartin NEVER showed up and did not have the courtesy to let us know he was not going to meet us. What a bum!
What kind of small business owner treats potential customers like this? My advice is to stay away from this guy.

I am a very, very picky person especially when it comes to my home and my yard. My experience with John was outstanding! He is a true Arborist. I found that all other companies are in the busine$$ of removing trees. John had as much concern about trying to save my tree as I did. We had to cutoff a portion of it, but the rest of the tree remains.
I found his company to be prompt, efficient and professional. He was due at 7AM and arrived at 6:35AM to start setting up and get his crew into place. I highly recommend McMartin Tree Service to everyone. Thanks, John!

John responded promptly to my initial call and was out to assess the risk that our large mulberry posed within 24 hours. He quoted us a fair price to remove the tree and grind the stump. He and his team were on my property the next business day and did a great job with removing the tree and cleaning up. We’ll be calling in him again!

I have about 700 sq. ft of yard that has not been trimmed for over two years. The tree has grown so tall that it is taller than my house and the branches are scratching both my house and my neighbor’s house. My yard needs immediate attention.
I got a response from John within 24 hours. We were able to find a solution that is acceptable to both. John showed up at the scheduled time and was able to complete the job efficiently. My yard looks amazing! The trees and bushes are nicely trimmed and the crew cleaned up nicely as well.
