West Valley Pediatrics

Brought my children here recently for overall check up. The staff was friendly and really knew how to engage the children in conversation. The Dr. was helpful and kind explaining to the children and I what was going on with them and what they needed to watch for. It really felt like they made the time to go over questions and concerns. This means a great deal to me.

After my daughter’s 18 month appointment, I decided it was a must that I find a new doctor’s office. Nobody is particularly friendly, including the doctor we saw the first several times. The nurse or physician’s assistant was pleasant, but I never felt like she was listening to what I was saying and she didn’t answer my questions. It felt like she was reading from a script of canned answers and that was supposed to be sufficient. It wasn’t. My daughter, like all the other kiddos seen at this place, is an individual and has specific needs and concerns. Ultimately, it felt like being in a factory. The patients are bustled into the office and then shooed away. I’m happy that we have found something that better suits us.

Moved to Goodyear from Phoenix. Last peds Dr. was on Scottsdale since I delivered there and we really liked her. Found West Valley Pediatrics on Unilocal due to good reviews and specifically Dr. Hartsook. He was super nice, patiently answered all questions while giving us info too, and was funny. We will definitely go back. When we were leaving the office was packed and that may be a problem in the future…

I’ve been going to West Valley Pediatrics for about 3 years now. I was recommended to Dr. Cunningham for my sons care when I moved out to the West Valley. She was great and always took great care of my son but I felt she was kind of cold and dry. When my daughter was born, Dr. Hartsook was the doctor on call who visited the hospital, I really liked him so I started taking my daughter to him. One day, neither of them were available and I was helped by Dr. Gunder and I am so glad! Dr. Hartsook was great but I really fell in love with Dr. Gunder’s genuine care for my children and the way she interacted with not only the children but myself as well. She always addresses my concerns and is genuine. Her assistant is also friendly, courteous, and great! Ive also seen a couple of the nurse practitioners when my doctors aren’t available but I have now switched all 3 of my children to Dr. Gunder and I’m very happy I did so.
The procedure they have for getting a hold of a doctor after hours is great! You speak to concierge, they get all your info and say the doctor will call you back within a certain timeframe but they always call back very quickly.
The reason I rated the way I did is because the staff up front isn’t very friendly and quite honestly, are rude; Its the same whether you’re calling them or you are in person but the Doctors and assistants make up for that. Also, making appointments is tough. They have limited availability and its hard to get an appointment within the next couple of weeks. However, if its a ‘sick’ child appointment, they usually have same day availability so that’s great!
I recommend West Valley Pediatrics to all of my friends!

After taking my son here for a 1 ½ years I have nothing but good things to say. All the nurses PA’s and Dr. Hartsook have all been amazing. Anytime I call to talk to a triage nurse I get called back within the hour and if my son is sick and I call they get me in that same day. I couldn’t have picked a better place to take my son.

After taking my kids in for about 9 months now, I feel like I can confidently give WVP a good review. I’ve tried several pediatricians in the last 3 years due to relocating and this office is by far the best I’ve experienced.
My kids have mainly seen Dr. Cunningham, who isn’t necessarily the friendliest, but she does her job efficiently and professionally. She asks relevant questions and is quick to provide knowledgable answers to any questions. The office staff has always been friendly to me, and the rooms are clean. Wait times are usually reasonable, and when they haven’t been– the nurse assistants acknowledge it with a simple «sorry for the wait!» Dr. B checked my newborn son for his first appointment and was very good with him. I’m happy to have a great care provider for my kids so close to home!

Dr. Berebitsky is the best doctor we have ever had. We moved out of state and have yet to find a doctor as knowledgeable as Dr. B. He always took the time to answer all our questions and helped us make decisions about our child’s health. Great bedside manner.
I am giving 4 stars instead of five because we had the unfortunate experience of going to one of the other doctors at the office who sent us to the ER instead of sending us to a specialist for a minor issue. She really jumped the gun, causing a lot of unnecessary distress, and every doctor we spoke about the issue to confirmed our belief that she had overreacted.

The doctors and nurses are consistently great, which is why we’ve stayed with them. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out the office staff is a nightmare. They have been incredibly rude both in person and over the phone and they seem to go out of their way to make setting an appointment as difficult as possible.
Last time i went, we were 15 minues early. The first words out of the front desk girl’s mouth: «You’re late.» We still had to wait 50 minutes past our appointment before they called us back.

We’ve seen all 3 doctors and honestly the best care is only provided by Dr. H. He’s always attentive, patient and has great care with kids. Wouldn’t let any other Dr. See my kid again unless it’s Dr H.

Dr B. Is amazing and one of the best ever, this is coming from an RN. Rest of staff is nothing to be proud of, so much so I have relocated our families needs. It personally aggravates me when a medical assistant refers to them selves an a nurse when in fact it’s two separate job discriptions!

Called tonight due to my oldest getting some hives at school. Unfortunately, I’ve waited 2 hours for a call back and still haven’t received one…

Dr. Hartsook is the best! He always takes good care of our son, we never feel like we’re rushed. Best pediatrician in town!

Dr H is the best. After our 4 month old’s checkup today, we will now make sure we only see him for both our kids. Dr H spoke to us like people/​family not just another patient. You can tell he really cares about his patients and what he does for a living!

I researched tons of pediatric offices before my baby was born. After I interviewed West Valley Pediatrics, I knew this would be my daughter’s pediatrician. The office is very clean and inviting for children. The staff is friendly. We see Dr. H and we couldn’t be happier. He is the most attentive doctor I have seen ever. I never feel rushed. He takes the time to listen and answer all my questions and address my concerns. Being a first time mom, I always have a long list of questions to go over with him at our visits and he has always been so patient and is very gentle with my daughter. He is a very busy doctor and he gets booked up quickly but coming to West Valley Pediatrics is totally worth it. They also have a nurse line that you can call that I have found extremely helpful. I seriously couldn’t be happier with the level of care and attention my daughter receives. They receive a huge recommendation from me!

My grandson had an appointment in this office on a Wednesday morning. The physician stated that he would electronically send an antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy. We tried to pick up the prescription twice that day and called the doctor’s office the next morning to find out why the prescription still was not ready. When we called this office we were told that the prescription had been sent. Seeing as how it wasn’t there we asked to speak with the office manager. Then the receptionist asked for the name of the medicine. We explained to her that the antibiotic was Augmentin. She again stated that the pharmacy had received the prescription. Again we asked to speak with the office manager. After being on hold for an extended period of time the receptionist came back on the line and said the office manager would pick up the line as soon as she ended the call that she was on. After another extended hold time, a «nurse» picked up the phone and said that the prescription had never been sent, but she took care of it. When asked why we had been told that it had already been done, she stated that the girl was only a receptionist and didn’t know the difference. She said that the Tobramycin prescription had been sent. (This was done a week previous to this.) Again we asked why if we specifically told her Augmentin then why did she tell us this had been done.
This was the final straw with this office. They are consistently rude and unprofessional. They lie instead of simply finding out the answer to the question. Since a good portion of my family is employed in the medical field, we expect quality care. We don’t expect the receptionist to «know the answer». We do however, expect them to take the time to «find it out» and give us the «true» answer.
When we finally spoke to the office manager, she was defensive, rude, antagonistic, and not any more professional than her employees.
Even though Dr. Hartsook had a great rapport with my grandson, he tolerates this type of behavior from his office staff. Unfortunately this will affect his professional reputation.

made an apointment for a wellcheck for my daughter, was never told anything was wrong with her, no special treatment seemed to be given but when i got the bill from my insurance company they had billed my insurance company for a sick visit instead.
has this happened to anyone else ?
no problem with the actual care at the facility.

Love Nurse Purtee. Hate that im always waiting over an hour past my appointment time even when im 20 minutes early. Also hate that I have to schedule immunizations over 6 weeks in advance.

Dr. Cunningham has been our pediatrician since my twins were born. She visited the NICU to check them every morning since they were only 3 lbs when they were born. They are now almost 6 and my other son is 4 and everyone is happy and healthy. We have seen all of the doctors and NPs and I highly recommend everyone in the office. They are always friendly and helpful and we can usually get in immediately if we have to. There is never a long wait and they take their time and are very thorough. I recommend this office to all of my friends. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome office love Dr. H we have him for our boys. Great doctor listens and is patient. Lets us ask all the questions we may have, not in a hurry like most dr now in days. Staff is also good referrals office needs to improve a little on checking in on things. They are available for walk ins as long as u call in early for them to get u in. Open on saturdays always a plus!
