Delicious! This place is like a hidden gem. We ate: caprese salad(ok), bread(spectacular), chicken piccata(yum!!), tagliatelle with spicy olive oil and scallops(so good). The place was crowded, but with a reservation we had no wait. The waiter was clearly a hard worker, and was extremely busy. The other waitstaff helped when we needed something and never let us wanting attention.

We found Ticino on Unilocal and it was literally a 3 min walk from our hotel. Inside the Avon Center, we were able to sit on the patio. The place wasn’t busy and the service was impeccable — very family friendly. I believe the owner continuously walked around making sure every customer was happy. We ordered the Spinaci Salad and the Il Diavolos pizza to share. The salad was very good — spinach, pancetta bacon, onions and a vinaigrette. The pizza was spicy — the way that hubby likes them. I had to take out a few jalapeños, but I too enjoyed it. For dessert, we decided on the 3 scoop gelati of amaretto, pistachio, and salted caramel. We ate the whole thing! Overall, we were very happy with our meal and dining experience. I highly recommend if you plan to stay in the area.

Wow, food was incredible, the service was great! A really great experience… Would highly recommend even with kids. Has to be one of the best Italian restaurant outside of Italy that I have eaten at.

This is a hidden gem in the valley. FABULOUS food. Small, intimate, casual atmosphere … reminiscent of an Italian village. Ticino is an area in Switzerland. You can visit it right here in the Vail Valley. Charles and Sacha, the owners, and Sabina are WONDERFUL people who really understand customer service. Fab food, wonderful ambiance, outstanding customer service … They have it all! Located in the 100 West Beaver Creek building, formerly The Lodge at Avon Center, also home of Avon Liquors and Bob’s Place in Avon(base of Beaver Creek, right off I-70).

Marinara sauce is my Italian bugaboo. Far too often, this sauce that I love gives me heartburn. Alas, I discovered a mild, yet flavorful one at Ticino. It covered the meat lasagna that I thoroughly enjoyed at my visit there. Everything was delicious, from the freshly baked bread(with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping), to my «local’s favorite»(and I now know why) lasagna to my girlfriend’s Pollo Cacciatore, which was chicken cooked in a mushroom, pearl onion and white wine sauce. The margharita pizza was very nice, too. The service was excellent and made for an overall excellent experience. Like the Terminator, I’ll be back.

We were recommended this small ITALIAN restaurant by our concierge. Of course we showed up without RSVP, but they somehow were able to accommodate our group of 4& another 4 some who behind us. After a full day of hitting the slopes this was place to go for a carb load up. With the awesome garlic & italian sauce smell hitting us in the face when we opened the door, we knew we found a winner. Our waiter was quite knowledgable and got us up to speed after getting our wine served. The homemade pasta was his emphasis but he said the pizza was very good thin crust with lots of variety. We had really great salads, including 2 caprese salads which were great considering tomato was out of season. 2 had pizza shared and tried the marinara with Red Rooster Chicken in paperdelle pasta. Awesome homemade pasta and a Marinara to write home about. My other friend had a bolognese on homemade pasta loaded with perfect blend. of ground tenderloin and I believe pork. THAT was the hit of the table. What a bolognese! Our Tuscan wine by the glass was the house wine & was reasonable and familiar with me. A bottle was ordered but maybe was not needed. Nice that a cork take out was offered when he presented it. A sampling of the 2 dessserts was also a smash hit with debate over whether the cannoli was better than the Tiramisu. From the looks of the disappearing Tiramisu we figured the cannoli was a near 2nd but with a berry compote and sweet cream sauce my vote went to the cannoli. Since our servers name slips me I should point out that all the servers helped our table which made us feel very welcomed & comfortable. Great job by the whole crew last night! We will be back!

Pizza is real Italian. I’ve been to Italy and it’s genuine. The owner is super interested in his patrons. He is entertaining and very jovial. The wait staff is prompt and professional. Food is served hot and on time. Make sure you call in to make a reservation. The restauraunt is small and gets very busy.

What a little gem of a place. It’s quaint and cozy. If you are staying at the resort definitely drive down or take the shuttle to this place. The pizza crust is beautifully crisp. We had the il diavolo pizza with shrimp instead of sausage and it was amazeballs spicy and finger licking food. The build your own pasta showcases their house made pasta and the paperdelle with la rosa sauce was on fleek. Give this place a try, and skip the mediocre fare in beaver creek village.

Authentic cuisine for a reasonable price with great humor and vey accommodating. We will definitely be returning. We missed out Friday night because we didn’t have a reservation but returned Saturday with one. Great food and friendly wait staff. We took the ‘restaurant bus’ down from Beaver Creek to Avon Station, it was so convenient. Highly recommend this cute little place.

We ate lunch on a weekday starting at 1:15 pm so the place was half-empty and the service was good. The mushroom pizza was appreciated by all four of us. Salade Nicoise was a little unusual(spinach-based) but the tuna was good. This was suggested to us by a local(in the hospitality business) and it is one of her favorite places in the valley.

Fairly small restaurant in a 1 story shopping complex. When the taxi dropped us off at the turn around i was a bit confused because you can only see the restaurant signage from one side of the building. You have to go in and you’ll be led to the location. The waitress and the owners were all very pleasant. I wouldn’t go as far as call the food gourmet but it was very delicious family style cooking. This is more where the locals go for a good affordable meal. I would come here again. Their pizza’s and other dishes are very unique and not what you commonly would except. Salad was tasty.

The place was a little difficult to find, but the Unilocal reviews were good enough for me to keep searching and it was well worth the effort! There was free bread with olive oil. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast which came with garlic parmesan potato purée and sauteed veggies. One fear of mine when I order chicken is it’ll be overcooked, but the chicken was cooked well and still juicy on the inside. crisis averted! The potato purée was a nice combo with the chicken and the complimentary bread gave me all the carbs I needed. Service was quick and the owner was very kind.

So 6:00 on an evening of Christmas week… this place was slammed with America’s entitled elite skiing Beaver Creek in snow provided by God. The owner and bartender immediately took a carry out order and directed us to a bar around the corner… focused on us obvious nobodies as if we were celebrities and kicked off a most pleasant wait. The pizza is simply the best I have ever eaten… had pepperoni for one pizza and then a Greco… simply proof for the existence of God. Brilliant product and staff in an environment that would test the good nature of the best of souls.

We came in early and we were warmly greeted. Food was excellent. The only negative I would say is that our water glasses were not refilled until we asked. We would come back for sure though.

Had dinner here few weeks ago. Small, cozy Italian restaurant & had friendly staff. We had pasta & a pizza. Was very yummy. A little bit pricey though, it should probably be more like three dollar signs. Overall good food and night.

Ticino came highly recommend by the concierge. This was our second to the last dinner in Avon in a four day celebration for my birthday with friends from back home. It’s next to Blue Plate. The place is cute. With reservations made we walked in and was seated almost immediately. Then it started. We were forgotten. The staff serving the water was the only one that keeps popping up for refills. Roots were growing… I was aging by the decades… my friends were getting restless… A new waiter was assigned to the floor that night. An hour and fifteen minutes later we finally was able to tell him what we wanted and we also found that that it’s his first day and he’s new to the industry. I can’t help but get upset. It took us only about 15 – 20 minutes to eat. The rest was all about waiting. We just wanted to leave the place. The food was great but the wait was horrible! I’m hoping for their sake it was just an off night for them. I still like them. If you’re curious about what our group ordered please look at our photos. Everybody liked their food that’s why it’s still a four star place.

This place was amazing! My wife and I were in town on our honeymoon and were craving Italian. A staff member at our hotel recommended this place and he was right. All the sauces and pastas are homemade, so of course we had to try them! We ordered the Alfredo pasta with shrimp and it was amazing! The staff was so friendly and quick always offering refills and advice on what was good and personal favorites. Everyone should go here at least once while in town!

I came in on crutches and the only bad part of this experience was an employee from another shop who looked right at me and let the door slam in my face behind her. She was in a big hurry to get a coffee here. The waitress quickly got the door for me and seated me in a place that would be comfortable and allow for ample space. I had the daily special, a Caesar salad and lasagna. It was absolutely delicious and a steal for $ 9.99. The owner came by twice to check on me and the waitress was very attentive. If I lived nearby, I would be a regular!

I found this restaurant here on Unilocal many months and several visits ago but recently realized I had overlooked writing a review. In an attempt to rectify my oversight, I’ve compiled my thoughts based on six visits(three personal, three business). The first sign you may have found a worthy place to eat is the décor. Before a server or host/ess can begin forming the words to welcome a famished patron, the aesthetics of an establishment can make or break the experience. For Ticino, it handily makes it. I’ve not been to Italy, but I have to imagine there is a cozy restaurant(perhaps hundreds) somewhere in the country shaped like a boot that looks very similar. It is small and cozy with a woodsy warmth. I’ve only patronized this establishment in the hours prior to dinner, so I would not be surprised if it filled quickly after 5pm as seating is limited. The next critical element in the timeline is service. Some businesses make you feel like a burden the moment you cross the threshold, rather than the reason they are present and open for business. During each of my visits to Ticino, the employees have quickly greeted me and shown me to a table. During the meal, the servers have been professional, friendly, attentive and accommodating. Finally, the cuisine. I feel compelled to fully disclose my choices from the menu as they are limited. I have sampled their lasagna, a special they have on occasion. I’ve also ordered Gnocchi with Bolognese. I enjoy a good Gnocchi dish and it is uncommon enough that I usually opt for it when available. That said, it is the Bolognese that makes the dish. The hearty, flavorful sauce is simply amazing. My wife adores the Capre e Pera salad, having enjoyed it more than once. Other table companions have complemented the Marinara and Pizza. Other portions of the meal I can vouch for are the Cappuccino and Tiramisu. If you like either, don’t pass up Ticino’s renditions as they are quite satisfying. Ticino, a family-owned/operated Italian restaurant is worth every bit of the 5 stars of my rating. During six visits over the course of more than a year attest to their superb quality and consistency. I pray this business thrives and doesn’t change their winning formula as they will continue to be a must-stop location whenever I traverse the higher elevations of I-70.
