We always get great food and service. It is definately one of my family’s favorite restaurants.

Stopped in as the restaurant looked amazing & inviting from it’s exterior appearance. Wow! What a great choice! Amanda, the friendly & pleasant bartender that served me, suggested some of her favorites & I ended up with a cup of the Chicken Tortilla Soup, with a House Side Salad, and my entrée was the delicious & perfectly cooked Grilled Lemon Pepper Chicken with the out-​of-​this-​world Broccoli Cheddar Casserole.
I loved everything! The food was all delicious, well-​presented, & perfectly prepared! If your a local or traveling through the area for business, I highly recommend Cheddar’s Casual Café as a must-​eat place! Their staff is friendly & knowledgeable of their menu! Hats-​off to Amanda, their bartender, her service was outstanding! Thank you for an exceptional dinner & plan on returning upon my next business visit to Indy!

Love this place great food but it does get busy so could take a while prices are decent

Food is good. We liked the chicken fingers, baked spagansa, and sweet heat chicken and shrimp. For the quality of food you get at this price I can’t imagine a much better deal. The servers have always been friendly, but my goodness the service at this location is SLOW. We cannot get in and out in any situation in under 75 – 90 minutes. Drinks will go empty before you are asked about a refill and we have more than once waited more than 45 minutes after ordering. However, for the price I would not expect the same service as a fine dining experience. Would definitely give it a shot if you are looking for a well priced family dinner.

I’ve been craving Cheddar’s for almost two years now! I used to live in Springfield, Illinois and would go to the Cheddar’s there at least once a week. I moved to Avon a few months ago and saw the Cheddar’s and couldn’t wait to come by! My boyfriend and I finally made it here, and everything exceeded what I wanted. The food was phenomenal. The service was quick, friendly, and informative. Karrie was our server, and she was more than willing to do whatever she could to make us have an enjoyable time. We’ve been looking for a place to make «ours» and we both decided Cheddar’s in Avon it was. Thank you so much for the great experience Karrie, the great food the cooks, and the rest of Cheddar’s!

This place was fantastic! Hubby made a great choice! The atmosphere is relaxed and casual but the décor is kinda swanky! I love it. They have this amazing tropical fish aquarium that is beautiful to behold for both adults and kids!
This restaurant is classic American fare. I had a pecan crusted grilled. chicken salad that was absolutely delicious! I admit I was surprised! It came with the lightest and most tasty buttery croissant I’ve ever had! The best of my fam had chicken tenders (delicious breading) and ribs. They were pleased! They serve endless chips and salsa of note. The server was friendly and just great. We will definitely be back when we come to the west side to visit fam!

My boyfriend and I always go to cheddars for some casual dining! The service is great and the food is phenomenal for the price. Would recommend.

The prices were reasonable and the food was great. Our service was excellent. My daughter and I really enjoyed our Saturday evening and will be back.

I do not recommend the Cheddars in Avon, IN. Service was terrible. Took 12 minutes to get our drinks. 24 minutes before the salads showed up. Main course never showed up, so after waiting an hour we cancelled our order and left.

The food was great but did not make up for the service. We waited 25 – 30 minutes for drinks and a long time for refills on soda. Our spinach dip and salsa chips entities quickly and we’re not refilled. I had to buss our table and hand the waiter plates or we would have had no room for entrees. Please make the bar quicker and give servers more training. I think he was new. And very nice, but needs some help and or less tables.

Ordinarily when going to Cheddars, I am amazed with the service, the staff, and the food. This time– I had to ask for drink refills and we had a food catastrophe. The order was a bacon cheeseburger plain. That means bacon and cheese only in a grilled burger. What was delivered was something with «cheddar sauce». Or rather it was glommed with a mayonnaise type sauce. It was sent back, and returned with a fresh bun. Nice, but the glommed substance was on the burger, cheese and bacon. I have to be honest when you fail to provide basic service and mess up an order, the odds of a return are very minimal.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Staff are very friendly. Our server was perfection.
Here’s the thing, they just don’t really have anything that I want. I looked over the menu for ages and nothing grabbed me as interesting or delicious.
We started with nachos and onion rings, unaware of the portion sizes — we didn’t need both. The nachos are interesting and I liked it. Instead of a pile of chips with toppings strewn haphazardly over the top, these appear to start as round tostadas with carefully placed toppings and then cut into fourths. Very good. Onion rings are okay, too. They reheated decently.
Mr Jen F ordered Shepard’s Pie. It isn’t Shepard’s Pie. It’s beef stew with a mashed potatoes on top. Not awful tasting, but not what was expected.
I got the chicken tenders/​shrimp combo. (I know, I told you I couldn’t decide!). The chicken tenders were okay. The four grilled shrimp were served over a lil rice and I appreciate the effort in presentation as I hadn’t ordered or expected the rice.
It’s VERY affordable. So, that’s in their favor. They are pumping out big portions of edible food at a great price. They are sure to successfully hit their intended demographic. I just don’t think it’s me.
Went back on ¹⁰⁄₂₄ for a quick lunch. Further compounded the average-​ness of this place. Had one bite of nacho appetizer when our food arrived. BBQ chicken salad is pretty good, but the «BBQ chicken» advertised isn’t a grilled, barbecued, sliced piece of chicken as I assumed, but rather is cold, thin slices of deli chicken with BBQ sauce squirted over. The salad could be SO MUCH BETTER if it were a freshly grilled chicken breast.

Wow. The price at this place is unbelievable reasonably.
$ 14.99 for 6oz sirloin & half baby back ribs, that’s just awesome.
The Texas Margarita is only $ 6.99
When you are in town and nowhere to go for eating, this is highly recommended.
And it’s open until 10pm, where most of the restaurant open until 9pm

Excellent food and portions. The sides were fantastic (broccoli, broccoli casserole, yogurt & apple), so I definitely recommend a main dish that includes sides. All of our food was excellent, but I particularly enjoyed the chicken tenders and grilled shrimp. Prices were excellent considering the quality and size.
The décor is extremely interesting and inviting, with a elegant yet casual feel. Great for families or a more professional business lunch.
The only thing lacking were some aspects of the service. We asked our hostess if we could close the blinds as the sun was blinding in our eyes where we were seated. She responded that «your waitress can do that for you.» Instead, it took us 2 seconds to walk over and shut them ourselves. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, but seemed stressed and a bit overworked, despite the fact that many other waiters and waitresses were just standing around seemingly waiting for tables to serve. Cheddar’s did not receive a 5 simply because hostess and wait staff could clearly use some better training or better management.
We will definitely be back again and again just for the food and hopefully service will improve with time.

Food was not very good. The service was slow but I will be fair and say it was very crowded. Not planning on going back because the food was bland and not worth the time.

It was a fairly good experience. We walked in and they seated us pretty quickly. The seats weren’t comfortable at all and the food wasn’t the best, and our server was goofing off and spilt water all over me and my mom. But the dessert, a chocolate skillet cookie was very good and the interior was amazing my mom liked her food but the servers were messing around and talking instead of serving us and she never got the soup she ordered We might come back, but just for the cookie.

I like how the place looks. For a mid price restaurant it truly looks like a high end place. The food is reasonably price, if not rather cheap compared to other places, say, Apple bee. The food is good if you have eaten there enough times and know how to fine tune everything to your liking. For example, I always have my burger bun extra toasty because I know they wouldn’t toast it well enough for my liking. Or I would have them go extra light on the Cajun seasoning because they would make food very salty otherwise. I just have to warn you to not get the broccoli cheese side though, it always tastes like raw flour to me for some reasons. But I will come back for sure.

I walked thru the door and was seated in 1.25 minutes my son’s birthday was today and I was blown away with the level of VIP lunch service.
I am glad I was able to substitute the bread for broccoli after the server wanted to up charge me. I am so happy that the server had all her teeth and clean hygiene.
I would return to the five star Avon restaurant and refer others to enjoy suchlike lunch service.

All the reviews about bad service had me spooked but I was in town and wanted to try something new. The place has nice décor, noise level low (we were there at around 3ish), and clean. Our waitress was prompt and nice, always checking to see if we needed refills.
I ordered the chicken Alfredo with a Ceasar salad. The salad was a bit lacking in that creamy flavor that I like in my salad but the croissant that came with it was great. Flakey, buttery, bit of a crunch, I could eat a dozen of those.
My Alfredo came with whole baby carrots and broccoli mixed in. A bit odd to throw carrots in this dish but I enjoyed their Alfredo and the chicken was tender, juicy, and had a very nice flavor.
My father, who is very picky, ordered a steak. Dangerous considering he won’t eat it if their is any blood. He cleaned his plate.
Definitely one I’ll be trying again.

Rude female answered the phone and placed me on hold to answer the simple question as to whether or not the restaurant’s patio was dog friendly. After waiting over five minutes for her to retrieve the answer, she came back on the line to inform me that, «We prefer not to have dogs at our restaurant because people could be allergic to them.»
Curious. I wonder what they would say about service animals.

Food was bland. Very bland. My boyfriend ordered a mojito and the training waitress asked for both of our IDs. I thought it was strange but no bid deal. Five minutes later, we received two mojito drinks. We only wanted one. So that was annoying. Also, I got the fried catfish and that was just okay. Although, the fish seemed to be very very white like cod white and the «catfish» did not have the texture of one. I asked the waiter and he said it was catfish. I still don’t believe him. I have never seen a catfish filet as white as cod before.
Food and service was just okay. I don’t see myself coming back.

My wife was always skeptical about this place, but some friends and I finally convinced her to check it out. Lo and behold, she’s all about going back now. The interior is decorated nicely, plus they have a really big fish tank that’s pretty cool if you’re five (or 25…). The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are huge. My wife and I both had leftovers for dinner the next day — and I only ordered a sandwich! The service was also great and our waiter did a good job keeping up with drinks. The only thing I didn’t much care for was the noise level. We were seated in the middle section and it just got to be a little loud for me. Not a huge issue, but something to note.
So, one good experience down, hopefully many more to come.

I love this place. I’ve never left this place disappointed. The first time was back in WV.
I love their iced tea. I also have the spinach dip as appetizer. My favorite main course would probably be their Buffalo Chicken wrap.
Plua, their other entrees are awesome too. During the summer, and good weather you can actually dine out side which is nice

I have adored Cheddars since I was a child and was sad when the only one in Indianapolis burned down and was never rebuilt. I was ecstatic to hear there was one in Avon and have made a 30 minute drove that was well worth it. The prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is VERY nice and the food tastes excellent. The only reason I am giving it a 4 out of 5 is due to the slowness of service. We were sat down immediately but it took 15 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order although it is not very crowded. Nevertheless my heart strings have not been cut and I will be back :)
