These New Jersey folks are so picky. We had breakfast there, and everything was wonderful, from the location(next to the beach), the service, and the food.

There are very few breakfast establishments right on the beach at the Jersey Shore so this is a hidden treasure. If you can get past the inconsistent service, the breakfast is very good. The pancakes are touted as «award winning» which might be true. They are very good. Also love the Greek scrambler, egg sandwiches and omelets. Its unfortunate you have to beg for more coffee and this happens every single time I go. What can’t they have one person responsible for walking around refilling coffee? When you are there you will see so many servers and staff just milling around, seemingly as if they have nothing to do… more coffee please!

I went back this time with friends and have decided they really deserve 5 stars because the service is so fantastic and the food was one of my best meals all summer. It is worth any price when their chef prepares dishes like we had this trip. Let me start with Denise our waitress, she is the best! She is always cheerful, knowledgeable, attentive, and accommodating. We actually requested her and was pleased that the hostess made it happen. I will request her every time we go, she makes us feel so comfortable and well taken care of. Our food this visit was coconut shrimp and«joisey» clam chowder. My friends raved about the soup, its spicey but they like that so they can’t wait to have it again. Shrimp were cooked perfect and the sauce is so amazing you want to dive right into the cup! Entrée’s were outstanding, all three dishes were so good we were all debating whose was the best one. I had salmon filet, with huge chunks of crab with a lobster burblanc sauce over asparagus. It was simply the best salmon dish I ever ate. Josie had crab cakes and she said she never had a better one anywhere. Mike had shrimp and greens over bowties in a red sauce that he loved too. Desserts were the key lime pie(YOUMUSTTRYTHIS) you will be hooked from the first bite. Josie and I split the chocolate mousse pie also extremely good. A perfect evening with friends thanks to the chef’s incredible food and our waitress Denise who we are officially claiming as our personal favorite at the restaurant.

Nice boardwalk café with great service and so-so food. Menu comprised of typical American offerings of salad and fried stuff you can add to the salad. Big portion of course, to make sure you know you are in Jersey Shore.

I’m not sure why you would close during the busiest time of year and day. Dodd was mediocre at best

I would give 5 stars for the atmosphere being that it is right on the boardwalk but the food is really not that good… It is mediocre at best so it brings it down to 3 stars… it is a BYOB so at least that is a plus. We like to bring our favorite wine with us and what better place than the beach. I wish they would get a new chef.

In addition to my last review for dinner, this is a follow up to 2 different breakfasts we had the next two days. Both were excellent from top to bottom. Service, food, ambience… will def come back here.

We have been going here for many years and enjoying it every time. Post Sandy the new building is reminiscent of the old one, but much nicer. The Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Dover Sole and Chicken Francaise. Both have the same lemon sauce. Well, the two were swimming in pasty«goo». We were both were sick all night. So, we called the restaurant and the Manager apologized and sent us a generous gift certificate. We will be back… but not for Francaise!

Bad service, overly salty dishes and very bland dishes. Only good thing was dessert. When we told our waiter the food was way too salty he said«oh ill tell the chef» and didnt offer to do anything more. He also never came back to check on us between the arrival of entrees and dessert.

It’s back!!! Post Sandy Avon Pavilion is even better then Pre-Sandy Avon Pavilion. Had a terrific arugula salad, topped with pistachio nuts and balsamic glaze. Vegetarian selections including a really nice bean burger. You can spend the day on the beach and not have to pack a lunch. Just pop over to the Pavilion. There is a nice shaded canopy seating area where you overlook the shore. It is very Jersey Shore without the drama. Only down side — kids are the servers. :-/

Never ate there and never will. We were told our table would be ready in 5 minutes. Told them we were headed home(2 blocks) to get the kids(3 toddlers) and would be back shortly. Seven minutes later(as we approached the restaurant) we received a text that they waited 5 minutes for us and had given away our table. Spoke to the manager. He said that is the policy. So the policy is to let 3 children starve because we were 2 minutes late? Come on…

This place has been so good for so many seasons that my disappointment was even greater this summer in our several visits. The place has been rebuilt after sandy damaged, which is nice, and the place is still run very well, the food quality has diminished noticeably, while the prices have increased by twenty percent or so. Not a good combination! And yet the place still packs in the crowds. They have eliminated the freshly sautéed vegetables which came with every dinner entrée, and was formerly a very pleasant addition. They missed six weeks of the season due to slow construction and so maybe need to make up for lost revenue by charging more and giving less, and one can only hope they revert to prior quality and price levels next summer

I have been eating at the Avon Pavillion for some time now and since the new opening this summer the food and the atmosphere are just fine. The breakfast as always has been a fun and filling staple for me and wife, and the views of the beach and ocean are great. Dinner has become a step up for the Pavilion with exotic dishes and flavors, like there watermelon salad with arugula green’s, pistachio nuts and feta cheese drizzle with a balsamic glaze(FANTASTIC) My wife had the Shrimp San tropez over bow tie pasta and black olives.(Shrimp where huge) I had the Pork(Pernil) with Latin rice and black beans.(WOW) All served with a fantastic presentation and flavor. If you have not made your way to this restaurant you should because they will be closing early this year and when I say early I mean by the end of August. So find your way to the Avon Pavillion and enjoy your food and the rest of the summer.

Great location and view. That’s where it ends. The food is below average and the price is ridiculous for the quality. I had the mahi mahi(which was over cooked and not good tasting). My partner had the crab cakes — which left much to be desired. When I pay $ 25+ for an entrée I expect the dish to be good if not above average. Will not come back here. Too bad…

We came for a late weekday breakfast on a rainy day, so it wasn’t too busy. Staff was very nice. Beautiful view of the ocean while eating. Very airy and relaxing. I had the St Thomas French Toast, with Bananas Foster sauce. Delicious!!! My friends both had the Healthy Heart on letters. Very tasty! I recommend!

The Pavilion is basically where you go when you’re on the beach and you just want a quick lunch before getting back to your day. It’s there, it’s convenient, it’s food — but not much more. After Sandy, they haven’t rebuilt the structure, just put up a tent — but it’s fine, you’re outside, right on the boardwalk — I actually like the tent. I’ve only been once this summer, but I wasn’t a fan before either — so it seems about the same. Overpriced, generic food. On my most recent trip, I ordered the BLT — which was 1 slice of bacon, 1 slice of tomato, and about an inch thick bunch of iceberg lettuce on soggy white bread. For like $ 8. Yumm. My husband ordered a tuna sandwich with fries, which he said was fine, solid. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll be back — because like I said, it’s there — but you’re definitely better off at Columns just across the street.

I had the power pavilion breakfast which was excellent. Pancakes were as good a the claimed to have been. Only downfall was the 3 very tiny pieces of bacon and the large juice looking as if it were a kids small. View was amazing and had no problems with service.

I am so glad this place is back in business, I was worried that they wouldn’t be after Sandy destroyed it. It has been a tradition for us to come here every summer for breakfast, we enjoy the food, being on the boardwalk near the ocean and reasonable prices for the quality of food. I love that they put up a tent, tables and chairs everywhere rather than before with boothes and low ceiling and seperation of inside and outside. I think this is so much better and probably easy to pack up for the winter.
