the prices here are too high for the quality of food received, and the service was terrible! we went on a tuesday night, they were NOT busy… we waited for everything! i can cook better food in my own kitchen… and for $ 30 a plate, you expect something more than just food thrown on a plate. very disappointed. this is probably only staying open due to tourists visiting the pier… do yourself a favor and find another place to dine.

We love Avila Beach, so decided to visit the Historic Olde Port Inn for Father’s Day 2013 and came away feeling like the pricing was too high & not entirely justified on the basis of it’s interesting & significant past; & certainly in no way justified by the ho hum, lack of creativity in the food preparation. Polite but uninformed service; and despite it’s unique tables with mirrors, and end of the pier location, we found the décor aged and uninspired albeit an interesting backstory. The waitress didn’t seem to have a clue about how any of the dishes were prepared and had to keep going back to ask the kitchen staff… The food was somewhere between not bad and okay. I ordered the Fisherman’s Plate and asked if everything could be char-grilled rather than pan-fried, they obliged, but it was dry and unseasoned, especially the calamari steaks.

Run, run far away and do not eat here ! The service was average but the food was the worst I have ever had. Droopy old lettuce and the salsa had to be three days old. Bread was hard and I wish I could have thrown the Fish Tacos back into the sea. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place.

This is going to be one of those reviews that I know no one will probably ever use, but it will make me feel a lot better writing it. Located on the end of the Avila Beach pier(on the central coast, near san luis obispo) this seafood restaurant was recommended as a place my friends and family go for dinner. What then occurred leads me to say this is the worst restaurant I have EVER been to. The service was god awful… I think the waitress and the bus boy had done too many drugs in their time or something. They virtually ignored us. We had to ask for menus, ask for bread 30 minutes later, ask for the bill, get up and search the restaurant for ANYONE that worked there so they could pick up the bill. After asking for crackers, the waitress threw them totally unexpectedly at me, thus hitting me and landing on the floor. So as I bent down to get them, she threw another pack. Then, the bus boy was filling water glasses and thought that by holding the pitcher really high up it was really cool– yet spilled water EVERYWHERE each time and I finally had to ask for a napkin since he couldn’t care less. The food was below average. $ 28 for scallops, calamari, some crappy rice pilaf and cauliflower. Horrible presentation, horrible service and horrible atmosphere. When I complained on the the way out, the manager offered an insincere ‘sorry’. I feel like I was taken advantage of.
