Reverend Mark was so kind and helpful! He also has a great sense of humor. We had the best experience with him and we cannot recommend him more highly!

I got married in Catalina at buena vista point with rev mark. Wow. What can I say. Such a kind, professional man and I am utterly impressed with his responses to all my questions in a timely matter. Every time I sent an email I would get a response within that day. He answers all his phone calls and if not just leave a message and I can promise he will get back to you. There’s nothing a bride loves more than prompt communication with the person who is going to marry them. Anyways, the ceremony is beautiful and rev mark has the kindest humor that made my groom an I shed the stress off our shoulders. He takes care of everything and makes the process go by so smooth and he does not play games. There were some problems with our marriage license but he fixed it RIGHT AWAY and I can’t even explain how assuring that made me feel. I feel so happy I chose Rev. Mark to do my wedding and I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else. I recommended him to a friend already who saw the pics and inquired me about how did I get married on the island. All I can say is I’m deeply impressed with your services Mark. Thank you for making everything so easy and helping us when some mistakes on our license were made. We really appreciate it!

We got married on Catalina on 12/​28/​2014 in a small intimate ceremony with our three children. Mark made the experience very special and was very accommodating to our request to include our children in the ceremony. We had never been in Catalina and Mark made it easy by offering packages that included everything we might need for the ceremony and provided information on hotels, restaurants etc. which was extremely helpful for us. We enjoyed working with him and are extremely satisfied how everything turned out. I would recommend Mark for anyone interested in getting married in Catalina. He was very professional, responsive and helpful. He made our day extra memorable for my family!

We got married 9÷1÷14 and everything was perfect! Rev. Mark returned my calls and answered my emails in a timely manner. We met him in person the day before our ceremony and explained to us everything we need to know! He is kind, patient and has a good sense of humor. Im so glad I found Rev. He NO SHOWED THE DAY OF MY WEDDING!!! Be WARNED!!! I chose Mark Alft as the officiant for my wedding after reading all the wonderful comments about him on Unilocal.We communicated via email up until a day before the wedding. He then no showed and we never heard from him again. Talk about stress! There I was all ready to go, ready to walk down the isle with my dad, and marry my best friend in front of all our friends and family who traveled so far to be there, and there was no body there who marry us! Can you imagine?! Luckily our caterer was able to reach her friend, who literally ran from across the island to marry my us! Our ceremony ended up being beautiful, but it had nothing to do with Mark Alft!

What a perfect day! My husband and I contacted Rev. Mark Alft just a couple weeks prior to our wedding date. He was attentive, professional, kind and accessible. He made the preparation easy, simple and low-​stress.
The ceremony was intimate, beautifully spoken, and he made us and our guests feel completely at ease. I was thrilled to see that he had included a printed copy of what was spoken at the wedding. This will be a keep sake forever. Very nice touch!

Mark is AMAZING!!! My husband and I got married 2 weeks ago and we were referred to him by a friend. Everything was perfect! He was always reachable, we even made a trip out to Catalina and met him in person a month before the wedding. He also referred us to an amazing baker named Julio that baked our cake, I swear that was the best cake I’ve ever had. I had originally planned my wedding to be in Coronado, Ca booking my wedding with Mark saved me over $ 1500.00 and It was an awesome ceremony. He also has a great photographer that he works with that did a amazing job and she was very patient and kind. I will always recommend Mark to wed anybody that goes to have there wedding on Catalina Island! He made my wedding perfect.

You must get married on Catalina Island, its is just beautiful and amazing. And contact Rev Mark Alft. We got married this past NYE 12/​31/​2012, and it was perfect. Weather was beautiful, the location was AMAZING and Rev Mark took care of EVERYTHING.
We aren’t religious and we didn’t do any exchanging of rings (we got tattoos instead) so he tailored the vows for us.
The price was so right and it was an amazing experience.
We got married up at Buena Vista Point, over looking the water.
FEES: $ 100 up front then the rest within a week before the date. we did the bare minimum total was $ 275
He emailed everything to us and I mailed the check along with all paperwork and he got started right away. Very friendly, funny, and so professional.
I recommend anyone who wants to get married in Catalina to use him, he is amazing!

He wed us on Valentine’s Day 2010 and it was SO beautiful!
He has this beautiful, gentle way about him and every word that came out of his mouth sounded professional, yet, very sincere and so gracious!
When we renew our vows, we’ve already decided to have Wed On Catalina/​Rev. Alft do the honors… again! :o)
It was a blessed day and the view from the top of the St. Lauren hotel was just amazing! PERFECT Wedding!

Rev. Mark Alft is WONDERFUL!
so much so thet he couldnt even DO my wedding but im reviewing him anyway based on personality, professionalism and communication.
I called a week before my desired wedding date asking what I had to do to set up an appt with him.
he was VERY friendly and very easy to deal with.
He let me know all fees right up front and within 10 minutes of hanging up with him, i received an email with the required paperwork.
He was very personable which i like.
I was not expecting anything extravagant and asked he do bare minimum to make the marriage legal.
I was very untraditional and wore white adidas, jeans and a white tank and hoodie from victorias secret that said ‘bride’ across it.
He charged $ 165 for the marriage license (which you can obtain yourself if you want too) and $ 170 for the ceremony. He required a $ 100 deposit to hold the date and that was it.
Unfortunately,
he had some emergency family situations arise and ended up having to leave the island the date he was supposed to preform the ceremony.
Right away, he had already found someone to replace him, gave her our information, let her know what we were expecting, kept us updated through phone calls and emails and voila!
we arrived on the island at around 1130am on 2÷29÷12 and were back flying to long beach by 120pm.
Nikki Flynn, our minister, was SO nice and SO easy to deal with.
She arrived earlier then we had scheduled, had us sign a few papers, preformed the ceremony right on the beach in front of CC Galaghers, helped take a few group shots of everyone and that was that.
We wish we could have met mark and hope that maybe on our next visit we may be able to say hi and thank him for his professionalism.
i would highly recommend Mark for his services.

be sure you have cash when you arrive to the island to pay the remaining balance. the $ 100 deposit is accepted in cash /​money order /​check form.
