Very quick and straightforward. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Call beforehand and ask if there’s a wait.

Wife took her car in for an inspection and was told her windshield wipers wouldn’t pass. They sold her new ones for $ 70.

Great service. Got an oil change and inspection in ~40 min. Sal at the counter was a real bro and loaned me his phone charger from his personal car. Good local place

Location, location, location. Not sure what other inspection reviewers are complaining about. I was told my vehicle would be inspected immediately, and it was. My 5 year old Honda passed, no problems. No one offered me a list of items that needed to be done to the vehicle, and I was out in under 15.
The waiting area is clean, but not glamorous, there is a tv, but I wasn’t there long enough to worry over channel stations. I’ll be back next year!

The sign out front says state inspection no wait. This is a lie because I waited 30 minutes. Longest I’ve ever waited for a state inspection.

Love this place. Have been getting service, oil changes and inspections here for several years. They even sent me a helpful text reminder that my car was up for inspection this month (which I otherwise would have completely overlooked). Nice. The manager who mans the counter (Carlos, I think) is always super helpful and polite. Not in a macho sales guy kind of way that you see at some repair shops. Just kind and nice. No hassle, very fair, very fast, very polite. What more could you want?

They are always very attentive and caring when explaining what needs to be done with your vehicle. They even offered to help me find a guy to do some paint work on my car to repair scratches. I always have had very quick and efficient service here. And there is a taco place next door if you get hungry :)

This place was close to my apartment, so I took my vehicle here due to the convenient location. I had originally noticed a slight squeaking when I put on my breaks, so I decided to be proactive and let them take a look. Long story short, Willies told me that NOTHING was wrong with my breaks, but they recommended replacing the brake pads since they already took the tires off etc. Once I agreed to this, they THEN told me I should ALSO replace ALL the rotor’s to make sure my breaks would working 100%. I complained about the price, and they said they could sand down the rotors instead, but would not be able to guarantee anything. Since I was on a budget, and DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY BREAKS TO BEGIN WITH, I decided to take my chances with the more cost effective solution. A few months later when it’s time for inspection, My car will not pass inspections because… THE BREAKS are skipping. Normally I would my car back and complain, but I don’t want anything more to do with these SCAM ARTISTS. I am writing this in hopes of saving others in getting ripped off/​their car damaged. DON’T TRUST WILLIES. DON’T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

I asked if I could get my inspection done during my lunch break. Carlos said it would be about 20 mins. He had it done in 15. Good stuff, thanks fellas.

When getting an inspection there are shops that out of courtesy will tell you that your vehicle won’t pass inspection and there are ones that will take your money and fail you. (Even though they know right away it won’t pass) One of the reasons they failed mine was the brake light was on. I told the guy when they saw the brake light on and would fail it for that they shouldn’t have even pulled it in. He said if I «would have asked» he would have told me. Not the kind of place I like doing business with.

Close to my house, nice, honest, and has always made the lowest bid for any car repairs I have needed. Carlos is awesome! He even drove my car with me to hear a noise I was hearing.

I would prefer to write a good review, but I honestly can’t.
I’ve taken my car to Willie’s once before for an oil change (2012), which was pretty standard, though I remember them mentioning a list of issues, but didn’t pursue looking into those «issues.»
Come inspection time (2013), I decided to try Willie’s again, because the location is so convenient (the only plus side). Low and behold, my car doesn’t pass inspection and I’m given a laundry list of issues (including «windshield wipers don’t wipe properly») with a quote for $ 300, which didn’t seem too extreme. The major issue was the exhaust pipe. Yet, I still left feeling skeptical — I paid for the failed inspection and decided to get a second opinion.
I’m glad I did… went to another mechanic, who I’ve gone to before (further south, but soooo worth it). He noticed the exhaust pipe was extremely rusted right off the bat and told me I’d have to get that fixed before it passes. He didn’t charge me the inspection fee. I returned the following week — he fully inspected my car, giving me the option of patching up the exhaust pipe (the easiest, quickest, and least expensive option). I saved more than $ 150, with no mention of the windshield wipers (because they DO wipe properly) and my car was ready to go in just two hours later.
Thank you Willie’s, for opening my eyes to your 1 — star experience. «Why go out for a burger when you have a steak at home.» Manchaca Service Center, you’re a keeper!

I went in during lunch hour on a Friday to get a new inspection. Upon arrival, I asked about how long it would take and the gentleman said around 30 min. I was leaving 25 min later. Speedy service!

These guys are honest, nice and do good work. I’ve only been a few times, but each time I’ve been very impressed with the customer service. I haven’t done any major repairs here yet, which is why I didn’t give them the 5 star just yet.

Go somewhere else, they don’t take customer support seriously. I’ve been going there for years, but I am done after the way my car and I were treated. Plenty of other better options down the road a few blocks. It’s a shame. Guess there’s a reason the wait isn’t long.

They were so great! I needed to get a state inspection taken care of and I was in and out of there in 15 minutes. They also weren’t pushy about having me come back to their location to take care of one of the things that the inspection discovered. I will be coming back.

I bring expensive client cars to their north Lamar location. Always great service. Never a wait and they’ve stayed open late for me a few times. Excellent service.

I initially came to Willie’s to get my car inspected but since my check engine light was on Carlos let me know it would not pass the inspection. Luckily I knew that the thermostat on the engine was bad and and had a new thermostat with me for them to replace. For $ 80 they replaced the thermostat and added coolant to the radiator.
Carlos provided a very fast, friendly experience and left detailed notes on the service order. His communication throughout the process was good as he was in phone contact with me to discuss another problem that came up during the repair. After replacing the thermostat and driving 90 miles to reset the computer codes, my vehicle passed inspection elsewhere (I took it to another shop for that which was closer to my workplace).
My only complaint is that when I picked up the car around lunchtime, there was a lazy kid working at the counter and wasn’t paying attention at all. He was about to give someone else’s car keys to me but I pointed him to the correct keys. I didn’t get my defective thermostat back either, and I think those are supposed to be given back to the customer unless the defective part is under warranty.

I came here for a State Inspection. I mean, there isn’t much to be said about this process. A car came in right before me which bumped my time up another 20 minutes. But they finished right when they said they would.
As an added touch, they actually cleaned up all of the adhesive from the previous sticker so my windshield looks a lot better than the previous inspection place’s messy job.

The impossible mission: get my car inspected during my lunch hour on a Friday of ACL weekend. Yah right! I was prepared to wait hours… but lo and behold my wait was under 30 minutes.
I wasn’t expecting much, Willie’s seemed somewhat shady, being behind Baby Green’s and looking all man mechanic-​like. The front desk guy was super friendly and I did drop the hint that I was on my lunch break and wouldn’t mind waiting in the room till my car was looked at. He quoted me a 45 minute wait.
So I sit and wait. 30 minutes ticks by and my car is done. I was shocked it was finished so quickly and remarked on this. He answered back, «Well I knew you were in a hurry so we made it happen.»
Hot damn Willie’s! You have a new fan.
