Oh goodness. Someone mentioned that this place is leftovers from Pure, I couldn’t agree more. This is kind of an awkward bar /dance place. There’s lots of music, less dancing, lots of drinking and much drunkeness … but again lack of dancing mostly. They have ridiculously cheap shots for«top shelf» liquor, although I can’t say whether for not they’re diluted, or I couldn’t tell… still it was cheap! Kind of a grimy place though, not really recommended but if you’re here for a cheap, possibly watered down drink then have at it!

This is one ugly bar. It looks like a disco bar without disco music. They drew me in was the rock band that was playing on the roof top. They were actually rocking out on the window. Yes, you heard that right, just check out the picture. The band was very good. I think it was«the 512». I’m not sure how many bands are called the 512, since the area code is 512, but they were pretty good. Other than the band, I was pretty taken back by the number of girls in tight mini dresses… I guess that’s a signature of the city?

Worse bartenders on 6th. I no longer care for your $ 3 patron shots. Not worth dealing with incompetent bartenders that pour all over the mat. Lose your credit card and ID. «Hook» you up but the owner comes by and catches him so he charges you for a triple shot for all 3 of your friends. Adding up to 9 shots for 3 people which we did not ask for. I wonder who hires these bartenders? they got worse and worse each time i stopped in.

Not my favorite bar on 6th. They do have cheap Patron specials, but other than that, nothing special about this place. This place is either REALLY crowded… or really empty. Weird. The upstairs outdoor area is better than the downstairs area, but still too small and too crowded. You can find better places elsewhere on 6th.

$ 3 Patron shots? That’s because they dilute their Patron with water. How do I know this? Two of my friends bartend there. This review will be short because this venue doesn’t deserve too many words to describe how crap-tastic it is. It’s always too crowded(due to their layout) with a bunch of AZNs standing around waiting for a fight. Do yourself a favor and get hosed at any other bar(s)(except Latitude).

My least favorite bar to go to on 6th Street. The layout of the bar isn’t conducive for large crowds. The walkway to go towards the back area or upstairs is too narrow and can’t fit both people entering and leaving. The musical selection is your typical DJ mix of the latest hip-hop/R&B songs, but the atmosphere makes me feel like I’m in a ghetto Houston bar. …Not exactly my scene. Also, on multiple occasions, I have received attitude from the bartenders for«tipping poorly» or asking for a Coke-back. Excuse me if you do not feel that a 20% is sufficient for your services, but I feel it is EXTREMELY generous considering the ridiculously slow service. Also, perhaps if the doorman would check IDs more stringently, the bartenders would not have to deal with the slew of questionably«of age» people, unable to hold their liquor and needing waters and other non-alcoholic beverages. While I, too, was thrilled by the $ 3 Patron shots because that is, after all, my shot of choice… I was soon informed by someone that they dilute their Patron bottles so they can increase profits. What a disappointment! Hmm… no wonder I wasn’t wastey face after 10 shots of that stuff…

this bar should be closed and the managers should be placed under arrest! Dragging an obviously drugged girl out to the back alley and leaving her to fend for herself is a horrific crime, but doing it twice in an HOUR of the same night!!! People saw this, luckily the door guy at a neighboring bar called 911 both times. I was there the 2nd time! you are unethical, and a menace to the city of Austin. Shame on you!

Eh. Wave always seems to have the leftover crowd coming out of Pure, combined with the crowded feel of Cheers, two of its neighbors. They do a good job staffing their bartenders, but the atmosphere just isn’t as down home as Cheers. For kicks, if you’ve got a friend’s birthday, tell the bartender and get him a blue wave. It’s fairly enjoyable.

1) Cheap Drinks! 2) Heavy Pour! 3) No Cover What else could one ask for? Granted the ambiance isn’t exactly award winning but it’s a great spot to warm up before your main attraction. Top shelf shots and drinks are only $ 3(Patron, Don Julio, Kettle One, Chopin etc) and the place isn’t usually too packed so you can go with a large group with no problemo. IThey have a roof deck as well and I hear it gets pretty packed in the summer.
