W XYZ Bar

Here’s how I’d summarize this place.
1) Need an emergency drink & don’t want to hang out with the kiddies down the block at Gloria’s, Salt Lounge, or the Punch Bowl — then this place will do the trick.
2) Nice comfortable lounge-​y area that has decent décor.
3) Small Bar — not many places to sit.
4) Could not get a decent Margarita — wth? Doesn’t Texas border Mexico?
5) Pricy compared to most other places in Austin.
If you’re desperate — this place will do. Otherwise — take a pass.

This bar is located in the lobby of Aloft hotel. It’s a full bar, they’re open until midnight. Need I say more? I love the counter :)

A really nice hotel-​bar, open till midnight every day and the bar tender is great. It’s not too loud, very modern — you can either sit at the bar, or grab one of the comfy chairs/​sofas in the main lobby area and enjoy a fireplace.
Has a great cocktail selection, but I opted for wines twice now. The prices are very decent too.
They also have a small selection of bar food item, but didn’t get to try those.
