Urgent & Family Care at Avery Ranch has an on-site laboratory and access to most major laboratory services. Urgent & Family Care at Avery Ranch has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.
Urgent & Family Care at Avery Ranch has earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long-term commitment to provide quality service to its patients.
COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement, and accreditation.
History
Established in 2006.
Urgent & Family Care opened in north Austin in 2006. At that time this area was underserved by the medical community and the Clinic filled the need for walk-in and urgent care.
The Clinic was founded with the aim of providing the highest quality urgent and general medical care in a professional, friendly and time-efficient manner.
The Clinic works with patients’ primary care physicians, specialists and the local emergency rooms to ensure patients receive top quality care and follow-up.
A large percentage of our patient visits are from returning patients and patient recommendations, which we hope is testament to the quality and convenience of the urgent care service we provide.

Joe Fischer, DO, Board Certified, Family Practice
Dr. Fischer graduated in 1999 from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He is Board Certified in the Family Practice, and a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Fischer lives in the Austin area with his wife and six children.
Jason Stokes, MD, Board Certified, Family Practice
Dr. Stokes graduated in 1999 from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Texas. He is Board Certified in Family Practice, and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Stokes lives in the Austin area with his wife and four children.
