Loved this place and stopped by frequently while I lived in Austin since it was right down the street from my apartment. The store is pretty small, and parking can be difficult because it is in between Maudie’ s and Goodwill which both have lots of activity. However they do have a couple of reserved parking spots in front, and I almost always got one of those when I went there. The store is organized very well and has an impressive selection. Staff were always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They would offer advice to give you a better deal instead of just trying to get you to spend more money like you might expect. I always enjoyed talking to the staff and learning things from them.

This was my first time here, I was visiting from out of town. I went in to buy my gracious host a bottle of port, grabbed my favorite Otima and was deciding if I should buy another bottle. Starry eyed among the Dow’s, Ware’s and reaching for a Sandeman, the salesperson asked if I needed any help. I thought I had this faded, when she said«step away from the tawny…» well not exactly but she had another choice for me. Seems the owners had just come back from PORTugal and had met with the Martinez family and 3 pallets of yummy port followed them home. At special pricing! So for the price of the old standby tawny Sandeman, I got a late bottled vintage Martinez. Great service, great selection, great value. Hey leave some of that LBV Martinez for me, I’m hoping I can get back there before it’s all gone!
