We are a 5-​star, family owned and operated business. The owner and lead technician, Pete Hinojosa, has over 18 years experience in the HVAC field. He also taught heating and cooling for several years. We take great pride in all areas of our business, from our friendly and knowledgeable office staff to our highly skilled technicians. Tri-​County Heating and Air Conditioning is great. Pete was professional and extremely helpful. He diagnosed and fixed the issue with my furnace, and then went above and beyond the scope of this particular service call and helped troubleshoot a problem with my heater that a previous technician at another company had missed. I will definitely use Tri-​County again and refer their services to my friends.

I needed my heater fixed and called Tri-​County at ~5:00pm. The person on the phone scheduled an appointment for 7:00pm the same day. I was surprised, I thought I was going to have to wait until the next day. The same person called back and asked if it was ok if the service man could be 15 minutes early, with that I replied, of course. Pete was the service man who repaired my heater. Rather than just a slam, bam, thank you man fix, he tested his work. It turned out that the part installed (while working the initial time) wasn’t going to work long term. With out any run around, extra cost, or change in quote, he changed to the better part and meticulously retested his work. He was professional, courteous, and thankful with the job.
I wish Tri-​County did more than Heating & Air.

Tri-​County was recommended by our neighbors, so we gave them a call when our heater stopped working. Pete came out early in the morning the next day, as scheduled. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and fixed a broken wire. Also wired the thermostat so that it no longer needed batteries, which was a little something extra. Then on the way out, he noticed our unit ran very loudly, and quickly wired the unit so that it would run quieter. All of this in under 1 hour, for a very fair price. I managed a residential construction company for a decade, and know how hard it is to find good people to do work in your home, especially HVAC people. Got to know Pete, the owner of the company, pretty well. 3rd generation HVAC Technician. College degree in hardware tech. Worked in the construction unit of the Navy. Tough to find a person better qualified to work on your residential AC unit than this, as well as being an easy going and nice guy you feel comfortable having in your home.

We found out the first night of freezing temps that our furnace was not working. Pete came out the next day, discovered and fixed the problem (a broken control panel and malfunctioning thermostat) and had the furnace working in no time. I also appreciated that his office contacted me ahead of time to let me know exactly when he would be arriving. Pete was very friendly and professional. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend this business.

had to update this. My heater stopped working 2 weeks after the repair. Then i called multiple times but nobody ever responded. I had to call my home owner warranty and paid another $ 60 service call for another company to come in and look at it.

Pete is a 4-​star AC guy who gets 5 stars for quality of work, effort, personality and general dedication to his work and doing a good job. I can definitely recommend him and you won’t be disappointed with his work. The reason I say ‘4-​star AC guy’ is I’ve known a lot of expert AC men and some are more experienced troubleshooting full systems. He helped me out on what is almost certainly the hardest residential job in Lakeway. When 2 of the units didn’t work right after the first call, he came back repeatedly to ensure the job got done right (at no additional cost or fees). You will not find someone who works harder or is more willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.

My wife and I bought a 30 year old home in Lakeway last June — 2500 sq. ft. — one heat pump was original to the house and the other was 8 years old. Our first electric bill was $ 288 and the temperature outside never topped 85 degrees.
We called Pete and Nancy the next day and Pete arrived at 8 am the next morning. We replaced the older system with a new heat pump and air handler — SEER 15. Pete examined our newer system and said the air handler was fine but the outside unit should be replaced for higher efficiency — we upgraded it to 15 SEER as well.
We followed his recommendations and also had insulation blown into the ceiling.
The result — each electric bill since the work was done has been less than the previous one. Our most recent bill was $ 118 and we were still using the AC most of the days in the billing cycle.
Pete and Nancy are are honest and hard working and professional — an unbeatable combination in my book!

After four other vendors tried to fix our unit, it wasn’t until Tri County came out and knew exactly what was wrong. They’re by far the most knowledgeable and curtious air conditioning company in the Austin area! We were so happy to have our home cool again, we told our home Warrenty company we didn’t ever want to go with anyone else… ever!

For years I have had AC problems and have had various companies come out to «handle» them. All said the same thing, my AC units needed to be changed. That’s a great solution, if you happen to have that kind of $$$ lying around. Ultimately all the repairs failed, sooner than later. With tri-​county things seemed like they may be different from the first courteous phone contact. They scheduled me promptly, and then actually came on time. They looked through the system, fixed the problem, told me exactly what was causing my issues, and how to avoid them in the future. They also said my units, despite being old, were in great working condition. They must be, because I am writing this glowing review in conditioned air heaven and am admittedly a little giddy about it. Do yourself a favor and never call anyone other than these guys. They are professionalism at its finest.

Our A/​C unit in the attic was dripping water, so we called our home warranty company and they sent out Tri-​County. Since it is 100 degrees outside, I expected to have to wait days for an appointment, but Tri-​Country was at my house same-​day. That is really impressive. Pete! You recently repaired my ac that wasn’t blowing air out from my kitchen vents in Steiner Ranch. I’m the asian guy who moved from California who has a tv repair company.

Provided next day service. Even called ahead of time so that I could leave work to meet at the house. When I got home, Pete was already on site and had a diagnoses. After checking my 20 year old system, he did not tell me it needed to be replaced or that repairs would be some crazy amount of money… no, he tells me I have a leak and even waived the cost of the $ 10 brass fittings that needed to be replaced. I did get an estimate to upgrade/​replace my unit because I know when that day comes, I want to use Tri-​County.
