Sapped for caffeine at 4pm on S Congress, I want a mom and pop but I can’t venture too far from where I started so I end up at Tom’s. It’s what you’d expect: coffee inside a hipster shoe store where sunglasses are also sold. The cold brew is standard and it seems the prices are, too. Almond milk and fancy coffees are available, but the fancy coffees are made with syrup instead of natural flavoring which is disappointing. There’s ample seating inside and out. Cute patio tables out front make great people watching spots, and a large interior workspace is ideal for laptop work.

Loved this store/coffee shop/lounge. Serenity oozed from the moment I stepped into the courtyard. Smiling employees greeted me and were willing to help me find what I needed. The coffee bar had great natural juice drinks also.

What a cute coffee shop! Such a great surprise while walking in to check out some Toms sunglasses. The barista was SO nice and gave us great suggestions for shopping and eating in the area. Great cold brew and the décor is so cute and welcoming! I could see myself coming often if I lived in the area!

Who knew TOMS had a coffee shop? I am so glad we stumbled across this place. It has such a cool, laid back community vibe to it and yet it’s situated in the heart of tourist central.

Super friendly and helpful staff. This location is a house that was converted to a Tom’s store! Plus they have a small coffee shop inside. They sell shoe, sandal, backpacks, sun glasses and coffees. I love to support Tom’s cuz of what they represent— for every shoe you purchase, a pair is given to the needy. And every backpack you purchase goes towards supporting a birthing kit to aide in safe births around the world. So of course, I had to purchase multiples of everything! Love this place!

We had the horchatta coffee. Not bad. There’s just something about a shoe company that also sells coffee. I can’t really can’t put my toe on it.:) Cute seating in the front. Those lounge stringy chairs were cool.

What an adorable little shop! I finally had the chance to visit and I enjoyed my time here. I ordered a cold brew and my friend got a latte, and we sipped on them while browsing through the many selections available in store. TOMS has really upgraded and become trendy over the years — a sharp contrast to the plain grey TOMS I’ve had in the past. The inside area was a bit small and very quiet, and the back area had a lot of light. The outside area is spacious and faces the street; I got to sit comfortably on one of their Acapulco chairs and enjoy the breezy weather that day. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will be back next time I’m in SOCO!

Visited this hipster combo-coffee-shoe-shop for the first time last Sunday. Service was almost non-existent, atmosphere hectic, but nicely decorated. Sizes run differently here. Bought 91⁄2 women’s basic Tom’s and ended up exchanging for an 8! Groovy if you love Tom’s.

What is this place? Store? Coffee shop? I don’t know… it never really came together for me. My six friends and I were waiting for a brunch table at Café No Se, so we came here for a cup of coffee. We did enjoy the outside seating(and my cappuccino was pretty good), but it’s just such an odd place. with a lot of weirdly used space. I don’t know — it’s a fine place to wait for your brunch table, but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to try it. But… in the spirit of full disclosure — I don’t own a single pair of TOMS or any other TOMS merchandise. Maybe it’s for brand loyalists! I certainly think that someone who is into TOMS would get a kick out of it!

As a total Toms addict, I was a little disappointed in the retail selection here — there wasn’t enough stuff for me to buy! I think the focus is really on the coffeehouse portion and they figured, «Well, we have to at least make an effort to sell a few shoes here.» Good news is, the drinks were awesome! We went twice. I had tea day one and cold brew coffee day two. Both were very refreshing. If I lived in Austin this would be my go-to spot to hang out, work remotely, have casual business meetings, etc. Their inside space is pretty big and well decorated. Their outdoor space is equally inviting.

I’m going to have to say this place is really up it’s own behind. Very much the coffee shop that is convenient, has interesting places to sit, chat work etc, but the coffee is just yucky. I think they mean well with the giving back type stuff, but at the expense of attention to taste detail? I dinno… I’m kinda over giving it chances. sigh*

Super cute spot! I don’t think this is a place I will come when I am craving a good coffee. The vanilla latte was a bit too sweet, and no coffee flavor lingered at all — a minus in my book. The regular latte was decent and good quality, but didn’t blow me away. I will say, however, that this shop is very unique — there is a small arrangement of TOMS sunglasses and shoes you can purchase in addition to the espresso bar, and plenty of seating inside and out. The outdoor seating is a carriage house out back with a giant chalkboard to decorate. I love the personality this place has — there are numerous decorations and unique seating and murals all over the place — seriously, endless picture options, and I love their philanthropic approach to their business. I think TOMS is a good location for hanging out with friends or grabbing a drink before wandering around South Congress, or even a place to bring your kids. They also show movies if I am not mistaken. But I don’t think I’d come here specifically for the drinks or to study either.

I love the concept of TOMS. This is a cute little coffee shop combined with shopping(eyewear, shoes, blankets, etc). It’s pricey but $$ goes towards a good cause + they have cute shoes. I wasn’t a huge fan of the latte I ordered. It was OK, not as sweet as I wanted it to be(–1 star). I did receive amazing service. Shoutout to all of the kind employees who work here, y’all rock! :-)

I met the girlfriend here after I ordered some pizza down the street. What can I say… This place is unbelievable! I have never heard of it before but all you need to know is they GIVE as you buy! They offer many different things from coffee to sunglasses to shoes. Best part is that depending on which one you get they give back to people in need! I bought the girl a nice ring and shoe purchased some boots that she loves. It definitely feels great that our purchase helps those who need it more than us!

I am a HUGE fan of TOMS and when I found out they have a coffee shop/store in Austin I was excited. The coffee shop is small and really cozy. They have some great coffee, tea and pastry options to enjoy. After you finish your coffee you can go look around the little shop for some merchandise. They sell sunglasses and shoes and the employees are very helpful and friendly.

Free coffee? A store full of TOMS shoes and sunglasses? Nice shop workers? A good stop on South Congress. They also have some great seats(including hammocks!) outside to perch on while people watching and enjoying your coffee :)

If you’re a TOMS fan and/or you’re a hipster, you should come here! My friend, Michelle, loves TOMS and I’m a hipster, so obviously, we had to swing by this TOMS coffeehouse during our recent visit to Austin. I was looking up teahouses in the area and had to do a double take when I saw TOMS on the list of search results, but yes, it’s true: it’s TOMS, the shoes company! They roast their own beans and sell them by the pound, as well as in the form of handcrafted beverages you can enjoy while perusing the store. There are a few tables inside the cozy coffeehouse(literally, it looks like someone’s house), as well as a few outdoor picnic tables in the back. It’s a great place to catch up with friends and/or to do some work. Unfortunately, the coffee is not that great. It’s not terrible, but I’m spoiled and my iced americano had too much acidity and not enough flavor. The store is cute, although small-ish. They have one small room dedicated to(women’s, men’s and children’s) shoes and another room dedicated to accessories(bags and sunglasses). Trés adorable, trés hipster. Of course, you should swing by.

I’m not a coffee girl, but my feet love my TOMS. Who knew there was a TOMS coffee shop?! Thanks again to Unilocal and my fellow Unilocalers, I did. I found myself downtown and in need of shoes. After researching the area, there is practically a shortage of stores of any kind. But I’m glad that I discovered this one. It was about a two mile walk down Congress, in the opposite direction of the Capitol. It really wasn’t a bad walk at all. On the way back, once my feet were treated, I stopped in at a few on the shops along the way. The two staff that assisted me were extremely helpful and kind, not too overly sale pitchy either. I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to buy, but they were patient. I ended up going with the lacy TOMS. I was afraid that the lace like material would rub my heels, but he assured me that they give or stretch a little and they did. They basically molded to my feet. I absolutely love them… they were worth every penny. Dear God, I hope you weren’t reading this review looking for a coffee recommendation. They had a water station and I even had the barista fill my cup with ice. She was just as kind as the shoe sales team. I’m not sure why Jo’s, across the street had such a long line and TOMS was basically dead. The atmosphere was way cooler here, they even have a hammock!

I am in love with this store. I want it’s interior, including the shoes and apparel, to be my house. Pros: –Located in the heart of SoCo, right next to the famous Homeslice and across Hopdoddys! –the new shoe designs are HOT. They really upped their game! –new bags are pretty sweet, and purchasing one will benefit a new charity to sponsor women and their newborns –I don’t care if the«fad» of helping shoeless children has faded for people, or if the ulterior motive for the owners could possibly be just making money; their effort to help children around the world is noble and amazing. –The coffee shop inside, also by Toms, is pretty awesome. Percentage of sales go towards providing clean water in(so far) three countries –this is the hottest place to study or hang out. There’s great lighting from the neat looking wall/windows. There are seats inside and outside with Mexican blankets hanging off the sides. –play ping pong under a sea of garden lights during your study break! –or sit by the sleek, golden fireplace while reading their beautifully designed catalog –or lay in one their hammocks outside while sipping on their cold brew. You might as well buy one of their sunglasses if you need a pair! –or do it all! Cons: Nothing bad to say here!

The day I came here the espresso was phenomenal! I want to go back just for the espresso. I wish my coffee trader friend was here to try it. The quality of the roasted beans was top notch, well balanced, not bitter, creamy and smooth. It’s been awhile since I have had an espresso that just blew me away. Plus, you get to support water projects while purchasing the coffee, so you feel good also about helping out others. It’s fitting that this is called Toms Roasting Company as it is primarily a coffee community hangout spot. They do have some food options, they serve Tacodeli daily, and have some baked items(the gluten free chocolate macaroon was delicious). I would go here just to chill. All the seating spaces here are great: a porch swing, cozy spacious back room, and a large outdoor patio with all types of cozy cushioned seating spaces(that offer great so co people watching views). They also offer some great community events each month here(join the mailing list for the event deets). The retail space for the shoes, bags, and eyeglasses is cramped in a small area. There is little room to view and try on shoes with the amount of people jammed into the same spot. I didn’t find it pleasant and felt the need to escape vs. purchase. I would rather just buy my beloved Toms online; which I suppose you could do from a table on your computer, utilizing the WIFI while sipping your coffee.
