My neighborhood coffee spot. I love the honey nut latte, and bagel dog. They also have a great selection for beer, and the sandwiches are pretty tasty too! The lines and parking can get kind of tough give yourself a extra 5 – 10 mins if you have a tight schedule in the am.

Staff was nice and the beers they had on tap were quite good. Our microbrews were $ 5.50 each, which, for ATX isn’t a screaming good deal. I’ve gotten used to the dive bars that often sell craft beers for $ 3-$ 4 each. However, this is a nice place to lounge out at.

Neat little place that has great coffee and beer. The inside looks like new construction — active place and the staff is very helpful. They had some great sounding food on the menu board(very limited) that I will be back to try for lunch.

We tried the Manor Rd. Thunderbird a couple of weeks ago, but it was closed for maintenance so today, to be safe we came to this spot. First things first, I was so happy to see this enclosed porch. I have a wild little monkey of a toddler, so having that space is awesome. We ordered our drinks from a very polite young gal and got them quickly. Mine was very good as was my friend’s. He said that he’d like his to be more hot, which I could go for too, but I assume that there’s some magical reason for the temperature of the coffee. .. They’re the experts, right? I will gladly come back here.

Zero personality from the hipster staff and the antiseptic environment. And the overpriced coffee is good, not great. The are tons of beers on tap but who wants to drink in this environment?

This is the best coffee in Austin. It’s more syrupy and tasty than any other place I’ve tried. Medici and Houndstooth are also pretty good, but I really look forward to Thunderbird coffee.

Coffee is fine but honestly, for the price you charge for your coffee, put some power outlets on the wall! Asked once, and the barista answered that they left outlets out on purpose because they wanted to provide a more social atmosphere, which is a goal that they apparently have failed to reach so far.

Stopped in for a quick drink and found out that they serve beers on tap! The barista was kind enough to let us sample a few beers before we decided on our favorite. I got the clown shoes beer that’s been brewed with a whiskey cask. Yup like drink a good ol bourbon. We also got other beers l and coffee and a cookie! Check this place out as they have big indoor seating with a nice patio as well.

Great coffee, great beer and the food is good. I came on Saturday night quiet atmosphere with smooth music that is easy to have a chat. Crowd was small. On my menu tonight a Founders’ Mosaic Promise good floral hopped beer with a nice finish. Food was the Tomato and Basil panini sandwich as named but with mozzarella and basil pesto too. To this I add a cappuccino for the perfect meal. Experience was just right for my mood tonight.

What coffee shop has no outlets? I used to get school work done here and hang but with no outlets it seems like they don’t want you to hang around. Horrible because this used to be my favorite place.

Thunderbird was one of the first coffee shops I visited when I moved to Austin in 2013. I loved its proximity to my neighborhood, the friendly service, and the honey nut lattes. Back then, the atmosphere was super casual and comfortable. The décor was a little quirky + kitschy, but I really felt at home. Unfortunately, so did a LOT of other people — so much so that they would literally camp out all day long and it made it difficult to find a spot to sit down with a friend and just have a chat over a cup of coffee or two. In that respect, I can certainly understand(and agree with) some of their recent changes in regards to the number of accessible outlets. But… I kind of miss the old décor and the ‘feel’ that this place used to have for me. Don’t get me wrong — the new look is beautiful and I love the idea of a merged coffee + beer place. The drinks and food are still yummy, and the service is still good. But, I just feel out of sorts when I’m in there now and find that I don’t venture here as often. If we could give .5 stars, I would rate 3.5, but I bumped it up to 4 for ‘old time’s’ sake.

Used to be a pretty good place to come grab a beer and a coffee and do some work, and is probably still fine to come eat, but it seems they’ve ripped out all of the power outlets to discourage people from using this as a coffee shop. Think of this place like a restaurant and not like a coffee shop, and as a restaurant in Austin it’s just meh, there’s better places to eat nearby for less.

Really like this place! Good for a morning coffee & newspaper, light lunch with your laptop, afternoon to catch up with a gf, or post dinner date night with the hubby. About 10 tables indoors that can seat up to groups of 10 people. Also have a covered patio area. Chairs are comfy & place is well kept. 20 – 30 assorted beers on tap, reasonably priced teas/coffees. And a small assortment of snacks & sandwiches. Today we tried the hummus plate & a few of the beers on tap. Really enjoyed Strange Land barleywine & the Duchess something something sour beer! Both were excellent! Hubby was a fan of the hummus– I thought it was good too hit a tad expensive for $ 7+ Spent a few hours here tonight while Collin was working behind the bar. Really friendly, pleasant guy! Would definitely come back :)

The carrot cake was excellent. My husband enjoyed his macchiato and I liked my milk. It was not crowded on a Saturday night and the perfect place to read the newspapers! Very quiet and enjoyable! I did not realize they had bagel dogs here. I will try those next time!

I like Thunderbird. Coffee. Beer. The inside has clean edges and plenty of seating. The outside is large, but seating only around the perimeter, so not great for groups unless you don’t need to talk to more than two people. There is a standing bar in the middle, but who drinks coffee like that? The coffee was good and tasted authentic. The baristas lack personality, but maybe that’s their MO? I don’t care. I came for the coffee.

Hubby doesn’t like coffee much. He likes beer. I like coffee. We needed a place to go play our brand new backgammon set. Time to try a new coffee shop! This place has great size tables… from the regular 4 top tables to the high top 8 top tables. We snagged a piece of the high top tables, set up, and went off to order. I love the large community-esque tables. I enjoy coffee with a friend and then meeting new people in the process! The ambiance is also great. Super contemporary and modern and clean. Awesome. Tyler snagged some draft that had some chilis in it or something? Said it was really good. I ordered the Honey Nut Latte. YUM! We stayed for 2 drinks each. Both of my drinks were the PERFECT temperature! I usually order my drinks at 140 so I can indulge it immediately and not wait around for it to cool down a bit… ain’t nobody got time to wait! The first time it was ordered. it came out in a paper cup(womp womp… I want ceramic!) but then the second came out in ceramic(yay!). Must have been washing some up? We finished our time here with a hummus plate. YUM! A bit too much olive oil on top, but it had great flavor and texture. Came with some hot pita bread and a Greek salad. Yum. The patio is awesome! We stayed inside because my allergies were stupid crazy Sunday, but it’s definitely a place I’d chill in the evening with a cool breeze rolling through.

Thunderbird now has 1 millllion beers! Just kidding — but it does have like 30. And pint nights. And good coffee. And fast wifi. And a well designed interior that accommodates small and large groups. It does not have good parking… but then what does anymore? ** When I say the parking is rough, I’m referring to there being limited spots directly in front or to the side of the building. You can find spots across the street and in the neighborhood. Also, if you’re coming there in the evenings, you have an additional parking option with 10 spots behind the business. ** I dropped in here to get some work done recently. Ordered a latte, a salad and camped out for about 3 hours in super productive mode. The salad was giant — which I can appreciate. Not a fan of the ladies who lunch anemic salads. Christ, if I have to eat lettuce, give me enough to make it count. I think it’s odd that the greek salad has a sweet balsamic vinaigrette. Perhaps a greek dressing option might be more appropriate to the salad. It’s a great, fast, inspired spot that’s quite accessible and good for meetings. The rest of their menu is excellent as well. Only because of my current carb avoidance did I eschew the grilled pita and hummus. Best hummus in the city, seriously.

This is kind of my neighborhood coffee shop. It’s always very busy so they are definitely doing something right. Parking is terrible, but if you can manage to snag a spot, you will enjoy it here. They recently created 2 short-term parking spaces for to-go orders. You can always find freshly roasted coffee from local roasters. I am really digging the Wild Gift coffees right now. They charge more for beans, but you can get a free coffee of your choice with bean purchase. The baristas are friendly. They have coffee, sandwiches and baked goods in addition to an array of local beers on tap. Great outdoor patio and a bustling interior makes me a fan.

First time here and I have to say when you combine coffee and beer, everything really is just better! Enjoyed sampling the brews, the six we had: Uinta Baba Black Lager Karbach Sympathy for the Lager Wasatch Hefeweizen Southern Star Buried Hatchet Oskar Blues Mama’s Lil Yella Pils And Magnolia’s Southern Hops’pitality All were excellent and I can’t wait to come and hit them up on their $ 3 pint night! We also had their chipotle chicken panini, turkey-cran panini, the house chips & salsa(fair warning, it packs a punch) and the house hummus(just enough kick), which were all tasty, but the turkey-cran was my hands down fav! I didn’t get a chance to try the coffee, but will do so when I return, mayhaps on their Tuesday Complimentary Espresso Happy Hour!
