At The Waxing Studio, we specialize in the alluring Brazilian wax and other more risqué bikini waxes. In fact, we were the FIRST, all-​waxing salon in Austin offering the Brazilian and Playboy waxes.

Our mission is to offer a phenomenal wax at a reasonable price in a relaxing day-​spa environment. Brazilian waxes typical only take 15 minutes or less. Our job is to remove hair in the gentlest way possible, but more importantly, to help you look and feel your best. Talented and qualified staff members are trained to ensure minimal discomfort while achieving a beautiful, personal look. We are discreet, professional, and committed to your complete satisfaction. Every employee is trained personally by the business owner.

We don’t just do bikinis. We offer full body waxing, waxing for men, lash and brow tinting and skin-​care services! At the Waxing Studio, we customize our services based on your specific skin care needs. We offer an organic Azulen wax developed by the owner in Italy.

Jodi Holtz, CEO and founder of Texas-​based The Waxing Studio is a certified master aesthetician, entrepreneur, and an innovator. Utilizing 23 years in skin care as a skin care professional, business owner, and waxing trainer, she has combined educational opportunities, approaches, and products to create one of Texas’ premier hair removal boutiques that continues to set trends in the beauty and hair removal industry., a Master licensor for Waxology Medspas, and her own private line of Italian Azulene body wax, she is now about to revolutionize waxing as an industry by introducing to the market her Speed Wax system, which will decrease the waxing service time to perform large-​area body waxing by up to 50%. Jodi is also a mother to three young children (twins, no less) and in 2008 successful beat stage 3 breast cancer.

It’s a small studio where I had a hard time finding it in the big condo/​retail space on S. Lamar. I was greeted by the receptionist who was friendly and gave me paperwork to fill out since it was my first time there. I booked online through the Unilocal site so that was helpful they had appointments available after 5 pm.
The person who was assigned to me was running late due to the fact someone else was running late and it creates a chain reaction. The person doing my wax job apologized for running late. The room is separated by curtains. The wax job wasn’t painful and she asked if the temperature of the wax was okay.
Overall I had a good experience with The Waxing Studio and I wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

Katrina is an AMAZING waxer and, as someone who has been getting brazilians for over 10 years, that’s saying a lot! She is knowledgeable about ways to keep the red bumps down afterward and gave me some new tips to try which really helped!
I only subtracted a star because the prices here are elevated. Sure, we are paying for a higher quality, but as a result I am limited in how many times I can receive these services financially. With that said, the manager did give a 10% new-​customer discount when I asked which is pretty legit!

Really disappointed by our experience here. I’ve always gone to the burnet rd location and every person who has been assigned to us has been super awesome, but the day I wanted to come in only this location was open. However here, the lady we got was just not great at all.
A Brazilian and chest + stomach wax was getting done. I went first and um, ouch. Worst waxing experience ever. Wax was left all over my skin, the entire procedure was incredibly painful, slow, and the styling was sloppy. I also got a bunch of ingrown hairs after this treatment. I never get ingrown hairs down there. But it was bad.
Dude had a similar experience. Wax was barely cleaned up and the pain was so bad he refused to get the stomach done. Just nope.
The studio is really nice and I’m sure the other estheticians are great but this was just not pleasant. I’ll be sticking to the north location for sure.

Absolutely the worst eyebrow wax I have received in my entire life. I had one request «keep them as thick and as long as possible.» My eyebrows are the thinnest they’ve ever been (since the 7th grade when I tried to pluck my eyebrows for the first time). They start way too far in now, and are very short, totally transforming the way my face looks. She completely changed the shape of my brow, and took an entire chunk of hair out on one of them that I have been struggling to fill in these past two days.
I always go to Benefit Brow Bar but they were booked for a couple of days, so I tried this place out. Brows are very important to me because they take months to grow back, so I felt the need to write a review so the same mistake doesnt happen to somebody else.

I just moved in from out of town and was looking for a new waxing spot. The reviews here were pretty good so I thought I’d try it. I used to go to a place that was completely organic and they were just plain awesome. I expected the same from this place. I was disappointed though. The front staff and Leslie was wonderful to speak to and had great personalities! But the wax itself was bad. I had brow, lip, and Brazilian done. I couldn’t touch my forehead for days cuz it was so tender and my Brazilian left my skin all brown and super dark in that area (still like that and it’s been almost 2 weeks). Also, a piece of skin was ripped from my lip so I got a scab for days. I won’t be going back. If your skin is used to a certain kind of wax stick to it. Ask about the chemicals. I can’t go back here but hope you have better luck than I do!

I have to say that Katryna is amazing! After moving here from California I have been looking for a new spot to get my Brazilian and underarm waxing. I am so happy to finally have found my go to girl. She makes the entire experience comfortable and is thorough as hell. If you want a great wax go see Katryna. You will leave happy and hairless!

I have never been to this waxing studio before today. I’m a regular waxer and have jumped around from studio to studio since I moved to Austin 3 years ago. This is by far the nicest and most professional place that I have been and the staff was beyond nice. I won’t be jumping around anymore. This is my new favorite place. I felt like I was in a spa and found myself very relaxed even though they were ripping out my hair. Lol. It was hard to find and gps seemed confused about the address but once I found it the location seemed so obvious.

Megan was awesome! She was fabulous, professional, chatty and funny which was great since the power kept going off with the storm we are having today… good times! Nothing like flickering power to make what could be an uncomfortable experience more out of the ordinary. Plus, they squeezed me in, bless their empathetic hearts! I called up and begged for an appointment today since I haven’t had a day off in 3 weeks and I suddenly found myself with an afternoon off with no notice! Not to mention, I was a complete mess and had not had the time to take care of things (wink wink) for way, way, way longer than those busy 3 weeks. She fixed up my underarms, my lower legs and my lady parts into what is now called a mohawk :) Pretty self-​explanatory. Super thorough even when the lights were out, it was still afternoon so it wasn’t pitch black or anything, she was making sure she was tweezing every single straggler. Can’t hope for better attention to detail! And ladies, don’t be afraid of the finale, the «butt strip». If you already went for the rest of it, just do it! Honestly! That’s where you draw the line!!! Really? The part that does not hurt? Come on.

I’ve gone to Leslie every single time for my brazilians and she never fails to make me feel comfortable and relaxed! Her work is always perfect (even getting the stubborn hairs) and she’s great at keeping conversation going so I’m not focused in the work being done!

I went to The Waxing Studio recently and what originally seemed like a fine experience turned very bad.
The studio itself is clean and professional. The woman at the front desk was friendly. My waxer was friendly and I wish it went better because I really liked her! They use hygienic technique (no double dipping, gloves etc) which is obviously incredibly important.
I got a Brazilian and have had a handful in the past so feel I have something to compare it to. Typically, getting waxed kind of sucks, but it is a quick 15 minutes of small talk and a few deep breath, then great smooth results. However, I felt my wax here was significantly more painful then waxes I have gotten at other places. After my wax, the waxer said there was a little bit of irritation and I brushed it off as typical post-​wax redness and headed out. Afterwards I have been way more uncomfortable than I normally am post-​wax, lots of irritation. Upon further inspection at home, I found that the «little irritation» she mentioned was actually areas where my SKIN was RIPPED OFF. Needless to say, I’m incredibly frustrated and feel this isn’t something typical with getting waxed, or with my experiences, so it must be something about either this technician or this studio.
Overall: Don’t go, other places are the same price, and will leave your skin on your body.

I will never go to this place again! The first time I went I got my eyebrows waxed and the job was only so-​so and way overpriced. I went back again because I was in a bind and the other places didn’t have appointments available. I made an appointment at the waxing studio three days in advance. I get to my appointment 10 minutes early and sit there and wait and wait and wait. Then another customer comes getting the exact same thing as me without an appointment and she gets seen to the room almost immediately. I was livid! I will be over paying someone else from for my waxes from now on.

I hate getting my eyebrows waxed. I know it’s not that big of a deal but I have somehow managed to psych myself out every time I think about doing it. I know it doesn’t hurt much but in my head, I’m about to get my skin ripped off. I blame the media.
ANYWAY, I was taking engagement photos and I needed my brows to look groomed and ladylike. I have very thin eyebrows. I’m jealous of anyone with a strong brow. I hadn’t gotten a wax in over 6 months. Leslie looked at me and said, Oh, your brows aren’t in bad shape. This will be easy. I was put at ease.
The whole process was quick and painless and they looked great. I was the last appointment for the day and I didn’t feel rushed at all. She took her time and made sure I was happy before I left. I can see myself getting my eyebrows done on the reg now!
Someday, I’ll get the courage to get something else waxed. I’m thinking armpits. Eeek!

I am pretty sure the woman who did my wax was named Jamie but I am not 100% sure. I arrived early and she seemed like she seemed a little aggravated that I was early. She did not talk to me or make me feel at ease like all the other aestheticians I have been to. The price was also way to much for the 5 min service and she did not get all of the hair, I had to pluck later. Also it looked like she had not changed the cloth on her table after her last customer. The only pleasant part of the experience was the cashier who was very courteous and polite. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I recently moved across the street from the waxing studio and didn’t want to continue to drive to my old waxing place in bee caves. Well from day 1, Jackie has been amazing! I can always get in to see her either the day I call or within a day. She remembers me and what we speak about and her attitude is very bright and she ALWAYS has a smile on her face. I had to bring my toddler with me last time and Jackie didn’t seem to mind at all. My daughter sat on the chair in the corner but at one point had to use the restroom and Jackie was totally cool with me needing to get up between brows and take her.
My brows always look amazing afterwards and people often ask me who does them. I’ve never had anyone else work on me but I’m sure they’re great as well.
