Just had the shrimp taco. It was a liquidy mess and the shrimp have shell fragments on them. $ 6 for a crap taco is criminal.

I’ve only tried the chips and queso and it is fantastic! We always make a stop here when visiting Austin

I had the el borracho and puerco guisada tacos with queso and chips. The meal was very good and well worth the $ 15 or so. They also serve a small Tex-mex menu, which is at the bottom of their sign. I didn’t see it and regretted not being able to try one of the brisket or carnitas tacos.

Briskit is the best. Just get the briskit taco. I also had the ACP and to melt in my mouth. My order came up within 2 minutes. This is one of the best food trucks in Austin.

They pack their tacos full! I was only looking for a snack and I couldn’t even finish my taco. A bit messy — but it’s a taco. I wasn’t blown away by the brisket taco which is apparently their specialty. But their tortillas were amazing — home made and fresh! I’ll have to go back and try something else soon. Their queso was pretty good and I really liked the chips they used. Really, really nice staff. And quick turn around on the food. If the next taco I try is delicious, I’ll give them a 5 :)

Violet taco is situated in a sports bar so it was pretty lively on the Saturday I went. I had the brisket taco and it was pretty large compared to the other trucks I’ve been to. It was super moist to the point that my hands smelled like beef afterwards. The taco tasted great and the service was awesome.

Phenomenal tacos. Great spot to grab food while watching games at Star Bar. Has the Brisket and Puerco tacos plus the awesome queso sauce with the works. Very flavorful food all around. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

I had seen this place a few times while walking to meet friends in the area. I am pretty picky when it comes to authentic Mexican food. I had their picadillo taco and couldn’t stop savoring each bite. I had ordered one and immediately went back to enjoy another one. Seriously the best picadillo taco I’ve ever had.

They are open after bar time and have breakfast tacos! This is my new late night snack spot. Try the gangsta queso and ACP.

This taco truck has quickly become my go-to easy dinner option. Delicious, reasonably priced and very filling — living right around the corner might be a blessing or a curse! Either way, it’s good to have an easy option pop up so close. I was missing violet taco before, and didn’t even know it.

Holy titty! This place is legit. Handmade tortillas, staff with a sarcastic sense of humor, fresh and flavorful tacos, what more could you want? The food truck is in front of Craftsman but you can also get your food to go if Stay Gold is more your thing. Also very reasonable, I fulfilled my hunger spending under $ 7 including tip!

THISPLACEROCKS. The tortillas are handmade. The surf n turf taco is absolutely incredible. This truck is by far one of the greats in Austin. Better yet, the service is amazing. They once delivered tacos to Drinks Lounge across the street within minutes when the bar owner texted one of the lovely Violet Taco employees. Would give six stars if I could.

Splattered with chili and splinters of red cabbage, i feel ready for anything. Come here when you’re at the beginning or end of an evening full of possibility, and let the warm tortillas fold you in a rich blanket of fluffy taco comfort.

Amazing. I don’t know what corn tortillas they are using, but they are tha-tha. Good people, great tacos. I had the chicken fajita with onion and poblano, and it was exactly what I wanted. Try it! This place deserves your business.

Hand made tortillas. Enough said. Best tacos on the east side. Maybe in all of Austin. Heck, maybe all of Texas.
