The Timothy Center is a unique counseling center located in Austin, Texas. We provide Christian counseling that focuses on specific issues confronting teenagers and families. Adolescents are a major focus of what we do here, but they are not our entire focus. We also offer counseling to children, pre-​marital couples, couples experiencing struggles within their relationship, individual adults and families. We have been called of God to stand along side these individuals and families, and work with them to find God’s solution to their real life problems.

Our ministry involves bringing Biblical Christian counseling to 21^st century families. We offer a unique blend of solid Biblical insight coupled with the finest current psychotherapeutic methods. History

Established in 2001.

The Timothy Center originated in 2001, founded by Dr. Jimmy Myers, after serving 20+ years in Youth Ministry. Created out of a passion to provide professional Christian counseling to adolescents and their families, who oftentimes struggled socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. God’s desire and will was for him to broaden this ministry to meet the needs of more Austin families to support and help them navigate through life’s challenges. The Center has grown from 2 full time professional Christian counselors to 7 — ministering to over 100+ families weekly. Using proven psychotherapeutic techniques and methods of counseling coupled with accredited training and licensure, The Timothy Center has become one of the most sought after Centers for assistance and help with Children, Teens, Adults, Couples, Parenting and Families, now open in 4 Austin locations, and distance counseling available throughout the State of Texas.

Qualification/​Experience

Jimmy Myers was involved in Youth Ministry for well over twenty years, including eight years as Minister of Youth at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He has spoken at camps, conferences and retreats to youth and parents alike, and has described his calling to teenagers as «passionate!»

Jimmy has authored, co-​authored and compiled several books and articles for youth and parents, including his latest book Toe to Toe with Your Teen: A Guide to Successfully Parenting a Defiant Teen Without Giving Up or Giving In. As a Youth Pastor, Jimmy counseled teens and their families through crisis events and life transitions for many years and having fathered three teenagers himself, can identify with the journey.
