The Smoothie Factory

I always wonder who these people are who give an overall good or sometimes even great review to a place verbally but only give it 3 stars. Are they just not that good with their computers/​cell phones or are they so great that 3 stars is the best rating they can give?
Anyway this place is great. the best smoothies in Austin. If anyone thinks the guys working there are just meatheads, you’re probably right. Judgmental but probably right nonetheless. That said, you should not be intimidated by them. In fact you should be encouraged to ask them questions because they are all in really good shape. They have always been very helpful and friendly to me. I ask a lot of questions too. They seem to like giving advice/​recommendations.
BTW… What should the people who work at a smoothie shop/​nutritional supplement store look like?

*DISClAIMER* I’m only reviewing the actual smoothies here, not the supplement selection or price, that is a different component altogether.
I’m giving this place a 5 out of 5 because this place just makes some tasty smoothies, with macro nutrient profiles that you can customize. Sure most smoothie places allow you to add more protein, or some kind of vitamin «boost», but this place uses brand name protein, and different kinds so you can use what you normally use rather than some one-​off brand you can only get at that particular location.
As a bodybuilder, I like the fact that this place does high and low calorie smoothies, and they taste good. I make my own at home to be sure, but it’s nice to have a little extra treat every now and again, post-​workout, or just when you’re feeling like some liquid sustenance.
Great tasting smoothies, cool laid back dudes that work there, can’t go wrong.

Second visit and I must admit I was timid walking into this place the first time around. The staff quickly makes you feel comfortable and are great with suggestions. I have to say these smoothies are waaaay better then lifetime smoothies and Jamba (healthier too!)

The guys in here are really cool — very friendly. They carry a wide range of supplements, so no need to drive across town to Vitamin Shoppe or GNC.

This is my favorite place to go to to get my supplements. Everytime i leave the store I DO NOTfeel as if i got ripped off. Not only that i get a free smoothie with my purchase! Highly recommened place to go. They have everything you need and want.

I was driving around thinking «I need a smoothie» and searching for a jamba juice or something when I saw Smoothie Factory up ahead like it was sent by the gods. I popped in and at first I thought I did not belong… every powder and supplement you can imagine lined the shelves.
I was immediately greeted and welcomed. I asked for recommendations for what smoothie I should get and the guys were all very friendly and helpful. They really truly cared that I enjoyed my smoothie and they wanted me to come back — needless to say I will be back! Great smoothie and even better customer service.

Typically you get gauged by supplement and vitamin stores which sends most of us over to Amazon, Ebay or other online vendors. The prices are very good at the Smoothie factory and I now buy multiple supplements directly from them.
The staff is friendly and helpful as well and bigger purchases get discounts or complimentary items. What consumer doesn’t love extra perks?
This is the place for you if you’re into fitness and looking for great staff, great selection, very good prices and good smoothies.

This place looks intimidating! It’s like a GNC in the front — lots of whey powder and weight lifting powders. The smoothie part is in the back.
All the smoothies have power additives like protein, etc. I was overwhelmed but the guys were really nice. They asked what my favorite fruits were and then made me a kid flavored smoothie (with less banana) in adult size. Very accommodating! And very good.

Great smoothies from protein to just a regular smoothie. Great for a snack or after a workout from the 3 gyms nearby. Supplements are always low and if you want to try a supplement ordered, let them know and they can order it for you. Jose usually works in the mornings and is always there to answer many questions. This store always has DEMO’s from top brands.

The only place that I will go to for smoothies in town! They have friendly staff and an awesome selection of flavors to choose from!

Right next to my gym, the Smoothie Factory is perfect for a post workout snack. I usually go with the After-​Workout Formula Smoothie (go figure). Tons of protein for recovery and still tastes good.
They also sell supplements and proteins. I haven’t bought any yet, but it might come in handy.
Fast, friendly, and convenient.

I’ve been here several times now to purchase whey protein/​supplements and they have been great. Monthly they have good sales on several different whey proteins as well as pre and post workout supplements.
Each time I’ve been here, I’ve been greeted and asked if I need assistance. Today I did actually need assistance finding a gluten-​free whey protein. The gentleman that helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful in finding me a protein that worked for my needs.
I’ve never had the actual smoothies here, so I can’t comment on those.
I will definitely be a repeat customer.

The prices say it all. I buy supplements about once a month, so I can’t stand spending exorbitant amounts on them. I could honestly care less if the service is crappy, cause I know what I need to buy & how cheap I can get it. But the service was great! These guys had what I was looking for, in the flavors I actually LIKE, at a price that I was STOKED to find! No pressure to buy anything different, just honest answers & cheap prices. I’ll definitely, definitely be back again & again. This place is awesome, period.

Pros– they will leave out the turbinado (sugar) and honey upon request; friendly staff
Cons– i go Sat and Sun mornings after my workout and each time i wind up waiting at least 15 – 20 minutes to get my drink because they only staff one person. ONE person has to take the order, make the smoothie, clean out the blenders, and run the cash register. Another con – difficult to figure out total ingredient list for the smoothies. What is listed on the board is just a partial list.

I am no muscle head, and have found the staff here VERY personable the 3 times I have been in. Each time they have answered my novice questions easily and I didn’t feel I was being «sold» anything.
Even though they are pretty well priced, they also PRICE MATCH, so I can have internet prices while still supporting local. a win/​win in my opinion.

Muscle heads abound at this place. So don’t come here for the service (they barely make eye contact and certainly aren’t overly eager to help you beyond the basics). But their smoothies are good and not fully of sugar like so many other places. Their prices are excellent so worth a trip if you’re stocking up on supplies.
My favorite smoothie is the Peanut Butter Powerhouse. I get a small as it is already almost 500 calories.
Most annoying thing about this place (besides the people who work there being barely interested or able to hold a conversation) is that they don’t make it easy to browse the nutritional information on the smooties. You have to ask the people who work there and then they just give you a gruff answer.

There’s nothing like a refreshing protein beverage after a LifeTime Fitness workout session. Usually I blend one in my kitchen, but recently I stumbled upon The Smoothie Factory’s William Cannon location. I was amazed by the wide selection of sports nutritional products, as well as the varieties of smoothies listed on the menu. They offer 30 different smoothies within the 6 menu groups: protein, berry, tropical, specialty, classic, and kid’s menu items. If you just want a Powershot you can choose a shot of wheatgrass, green tea, or N.O. Xplode.
Justin Jajchik, the manager, did a great job in welcoming me and answering my many questions about the smoothies, the sports nutritional products, and their ingredients. After conversing with a couple of customers, I ordered, from the Protein Smoothie menu, the Peanut Butter Powerhouse Smoothie. It was a delicious treat, consisting of low fat Peanut Butter, Banana, Rice Milk, Honey, Turbinado, Energizing Formula, Protein. It will take a few more visits to determine my favorite, but the PB smoothie hit the spot.
