The Khazana

Buying chairs and having them shipped through Khazana was an effortless experience. The personalized customer service was incredible. I had to search many sites to find the exact chairs I had seen in a local shop and was hesitant to order online since I’m in California. The owner was extremely helpful and personable and actually had moved from Santa Barbara, so he was very familiar with our area. I’m very glad to have ordered from a family owned operation and not a national firm. Everything arrived quickly and was packaged well with no damage. Khazana is awesome.

This business does not seem to value integrity. I purchased chairs from Khazana. 4 broke within 2 weeks of receiving them. I asked for my money back. Khazana would not do this. We then agreed to split the cost. Khazana never actually paid me, despite agreeing to it. Very disappointed.

I would not recommend to buy furniture from this store online. I bought two Mid Century Modern Erik Buch Teak Counter Stools off ebay. Listing description says black leather and teak wood legs stained walnut. Apparently it’s a fake polyester leather, as indicated on the label attached on the back of the caution, and wood is really white oak. The plastic floor protection caps were missing for both chairs and dimensions were off as well. Not to mention that the chairs are small and uncomfortable to sit on, the sitting caution is at slight angle so it’s like you sitting on a slope…
I thought these were good enough reasons for the seller to apologize and issue refund. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case… The customer service was awful, they refused to issue full refund and told me that I have to pay for return shipping.
These chairs worth probably around $ 50, I paid $ 170 for each. I would expect a better service and quality for this money.

There are some beautiful pieces in this store. Any store that has Middle Eastern, Indian, or Mediterranean influence items, I instantly fall in love with.
If you are not looking for this store, you can easily pass it up on Lamar if your not careful. They have a lot of different styles of furniture and some of the light pieces, I wish I had in my own home. They are beautiful! They have these chandeliers that are crystal globe like that I must have in my home one day. You can see them through the window when you walk by.
Their rug selection is just ridiculous. There are so many of them to choose from and the staff is more than welcome to help you find anything you need.
Everything is beautiful but when you walked in don’t be surprised by the prices. You will be charging the items for sure but you get the quality out of it. Its worth each penny.

I love Khazana’s unique selection of furniture. We looked all over Austin for a round table and could only find composite or very expensive wood options. As soon as I walked into Khasana’s, I saw the perfect Acacia wood round table able to accommodate 4 – 6 lovely dark grey colored Tolix chairs. The chairs are everywhere now, however Khazana’s are powdered coated, which makes them very durable and even weather proof. The table was priced really well and the chairs were on sale! Woo Hoo! Khazana was able to deliver (cheaper than other furniture stores) within a couple of days. Several days later, I decided I wanted different colored chairs and they were more than willing to work with me even though it was a few days after the return day limit. They have high quality, real wood, unique furniture at GREAT prices. I highly recommend you visit their showroom before looking anywhere else. I love my new table and fabulous powder blue Tolix chairs. THANK YOU KHAZANA!!!

I have been shopping at The Khazana for over a year now and it is by far my favorite place. They have such an eclectic variety of pieces no matter what your style is you will find something that you will love. Chase has been helping me put a living room together and it has turned out fabulous! He is very helpful, very reasonable, and really wants you to be happy with what you are getting. We purchased a couple of rugs that ended up not working, he really took care of us and helped us to find the best option for our home. I highly recommend The Khazana, their pieces are high quality, prices are very reasonable, and the staff is great!

First time customer at The Khazana but will certainly return. We enjoyed superior assistance from all and are thrilled with our purchases. They matched the price of an online seller so we were happy to purchase locally. Excellent transaction from start to finish. Highly recommended.

My name is Kathy J. My husband and. I are moving into a home in a few months and decided to start looking for furniture now. We looked online for Indian-​Turkish style furniture. The only store we could find in Austin was Khazana’s. We went to check it out and found a variety of furniture we loved and ended up purchasing several pieces. They were willing to store the furniture for a few months until we move. Chase was very helpful and gave us a great deal. I would highly recommend Khazana’s as the place to go if you want exotic or eclectic furniture. Also if you would like to see more they have a nice warehouse to browse through!

The sales man was so nice both days I went in to drool over their original pieces. I like the idea of repurposing old wood to make beautiful furniture. I had been into numerous second hand shops not to mention the regular IKEA and Crate and Barrel stores. Nothing was really screaming out to me as a must have, until I walked into their store. What a wonderful surprise! I mulled over my options and the second day with my husband’s approval of course, I purchased the most wonderful bookshelf. It fits perfectly into our new home and I have already received a few compliments on it.

After a disappointing experience with Four Hands, I came to Khanza to furnish the rest of my living room and bedroom. From the beginning they really worked hard for me. We picked out several options and Courtney emailed us all the pictures and prices. She kept in touch via email and phone for about a week and half while we waffle. They gave us a great deal beating Four Hands prices so we decided to go on ahead and pull the trigger. When she found out that the living room coffee table we ordered wouldn’t arrive until May, she offered to give us a loaner that would match the other side tables we bought. That sealed the five star deal for me.

I love this store! They have great furnishings and very helpful people. I purchased a dining room table and it is one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture in my house — guests can’t help but comment on how pretty it is and ask what kind of wood and where it came from! We got it for a great price — the Khazana often has sales and warehouse sales where you can get an amazing piece at a very reasonable and fair price. I always look forward to going back and shopping at this store.

Incredible store that brings gems of the world to the center of Austin. I loved how several of the items I purchased told you exactly where the product was from.
The staff is great and they have in depth knowledge about the products they are selling. Unique, hard to find pieces from all over the world. Constantly fluctuating merchandise. You never know what you’re going to get.
Go to Khazana and keep going back!

Just a phenomenal experience. After driving by Khazana for several years, the need to drop by occurred. After completing our floor renovations with Acacia Hardwoods, we definitely needed a rug or two to offset all the «delicious» hardwoods. I am not really sure what made me think of Khazana… perhaps I had remembered from sitting in traffic on Lamar, the Persian style rugs they had outside gleaming in the sunlight. Whatever it was, I am thrilled that we choose to enter this quaint establishment.
Upon entering, a gentleman introduced himself as Ohm and asked if we needed any help. I mentioned that we were looking for a Persian rug for our home. He smiled and led us to the back of the shop where they had dozen’s of rugs folded and stacked up in neat rows. He asked what size were we looking for and what colors would work. We honestly didn’t have a clue, we were shopping for ideas. He started taking down the rugs, opening them up, discussing with us where they were made and pricing differences between colors and size. We showed him a picture of our new floor in the living room and where we wanted to rug to live. We narrowed down what we definitely wanted, and before I knew it, we were walking out the door with our rug. On a side note, it was a Chelsea footie day and Suzie had done a good job at liquidating me and there for my wallet… Ahem…
I had asked Ohm, if the size wasn’t right could we bring it back. he told me absolutely, no problem. This was important to me, since I truly didn’t expect to purchase a rug as an impulse buy and if you know anything about these things, they are not inexpensive Lowes/​Home Depot rugs. These are hand made, beautiful pieces of art really. As it happens, after we got home and laid the rug out it looked awesome. The next morning, I was looking down at the rug and noticed some threads were poking out of the top of the rug. It seemed as if the backing was coming through the top of the rug. I was bummed, why didn’t I notice this at the shop yesterday?
I went to the Khazana website and sent an email to them explaining what I had found and mentioned that on the receipt that there was a four day return policy. It was early in the morning prior to their opening time. I thought it might be a good idea to call them and leave them a message. As I was calling, another call came over on the other line. It was Ohm, he had seen my email that I had just sent 4 minutes prior and informed me to bring the rug back in and we will sort this all out… Whoa. customer service extraordinaire.
We just got back from Khazana and I am gob smacked at this shop. Not only was Ohm there as well as Courtney, he took the rug back no questions asked, and we found another beautiful replacement, a little bigger than what we brought back at no additional charge… Excuse me? Who the heck does that?
Great store, beautiful products and beyond reproach customer service.

This store sells the most beautiful artifacts from far and wide. Staff is extremely knowledgable, kind and helpful.

Solid furniture. Solid construction. Great attention to detail.
Decent prices. If you want particle board and cheap drawer hardware, go elsewhere. This stuff is solid hardwood, and they spend the time to make their pieces the kind you’ll want to pass on to future generations.
Would highly recommend.

I’m updating my review from the other day. After a few email exchanges the same day I posted my first review, Khazana agreed to refund my money and apologized for the hassle.
Originally I was going to have to take both couches/​sofas to their warehouse myself, but this morning on New Year’s day, the owner, Oam, personally called me to apologize for the hassle and explain why it took so long. He also has offered to send his delivery truck over to pick up both couches/​sofas rather than me having to bring them in and will send the check over the same day.
After our conversation, I do believe he is sincere in his apology and is trying to do the right thing by the customer, especially after understanding how displeased we were. This has shown me a greater level of customer service and has restored some of the positive view I originally had when we first purchased our furniture from them.
I understand sometimes problems happen. How a business resolves them is then what is important. In my book, Khazana is on the right path to restoring a customer relationship.

It isn’t just that Khazana is amazing, it is Ohm that really seals the deal. This review is long over due and for that I truly apologize.
After spending weekends furniture shopping in Austin, we stumbled across this great store called Four Hands. Upon balking at their price tags and dealing with sub-​par hospitality, we high-​tailed it out of there. See… we still need to be able to afford food.
Khazana is very similar to Four Hands– not run of the mill without sacrificing quality. But, with Khazana we don’t have to sell a kidney. The more we bought, the more deals we got. And, the selection he has isn’t just in his small store. He has online catalogs and an additional storage unit.
We saw our bed online for thousands of dollars. After asking if Ohm could get it for us, we were shocked to hear less than a thousand price tag. Upon delivering and setting the bed up, we soon realized how Khazana’s quality is. I’ve moved around a lot and with that sacrificed having nice furniture.
With Khazana, you get store-​room furniture without the store-​room price.

Absolutely love the furniture here. I ended up buying a beautiful rug (they let me take 3 home to try), a unique coffee table and an awesome marble top side table. They are willing to negotiate, which is always great when you’re buying a lot of stuff.
The service was amazing. I couldn’t fit everything in my car so the sales girl helped bring stuff in her own car after she closed the shop. Super sweet of her. If you’re into eclectic, industrial chic, antique-​asian style furniture, this is a must go.

I have to edit my previous review. Previously, I was very satisfied with my experience and thought the owner was just great, but not true anymore.
I ordered multiple items and one particular item took about 4 months to get. He went back and forth on getting it from overseas etc. Whatever it was I waited b/​c I liked the piece. Now 6 months after getting the piece I see the same piece and others at Tuesday Morning for HALF the price. I called him to share the information and asked him why he charged me double. He had some lame excuse and told me that because I saw it at Tuesday Morning he couldn’t refund me any money. Some story about how if I had found it cheaper at a «furniture store» he could work with me. What does it matter where I found it, point is he ripped me off. I am not made of money, I am a school teacher. He said he’d credit me toward future purchases at his store.
Really…like I’m ever gonna step foot into your store again to be taken advantage of?
Funny thing is, I just had 3 friends purchase new homes. They of course love my furniture and I would have happily urged them to shop at the Khazana, but after this experience I’ve told them to go elsewhere. It’s too bad, because I would have sent 3 referrals his way and who knows how many more!
If you buy here, know that he is taking advantage of you. Furniture mark up is about 3x what they pay for it, so it’s obvious he could have worked with me. It’s his loss though!
