I’ve visited Nadeau at least 15 times in the last several years(I love looking at furniture) and bought a dining room table and accent chest from Nadeau and am very happy with my purchases. And yes you have to inspect your pieces before purchasing them(some of the furniture has minor scratches from being piled on top of each other). I love this furniture for three reasons:(1) their furniture isn’t made out of cheap MD;(2) many of the pieces are quite attractive and unique looking; and(3) everything is moderately priced and looks like its handcrafted out of the India or Asia. I’ve owned many Target and Ikea furniture pieces over the years and they’ve all fallen apart after 5 years. With wood, you just don’t have the issue of weird screws coming loose from crumbling particle board. My only complaint about the ‘new’ location is that its a total bear to access if you are driving up from South Austin. The horrendous traffic in front of the store and puny parking area are a major pain but that stress goes away once you enter the store.

I bought some furniture from here and the pieces were amazing and well priced. Andy helped me out and he was fast and very helpful. I definetly will be back and spread the word! The furniture is also all wood and not that cheap crap you get now a days. Hopefully it lasts a long time.

The pieces are unique and reasonably priced. Find Stephanie or West, very friendly and helpful. We got some pieces to decorate our home, the metal + wood combo table is gorgeous. All real wood no mdf /particle board, real nice. Pro tip: look up as well because the furniture are stacked up high(found one of our furniture at the top stack) Thank you Nadeau Austin for bringing our home to life :)

Fun furniture at a reasonable price. Be prepared to dig when you come, because most of the furniture is buried under more furniture. My only real complaint was the sales staff — totally unhelpful.

Such a great furniture store! Everything is made of solid wood and painted beautifully. Great prices as well! Just wish the place was a little bigger so you can see all the furniture. Some of it is tucked underneath other pieces and you have to move stuff around to look at everything.

I am still unhappy with my experience. I was not aware that I needed to inspect the picture frame before I bought it. I was very clear on the no return policy from the signs posted all over the store; however, most businesses will make exceptions if the item is defective.

I agree that this place has unique, reasonably priced furniture. But I just bought a teak table from there for $ 500 and they told me it could even be used outdoors. No one told me I had to protect/seal it for water because the first time we used it a few glasses were set on the table only for the stain to immediately wash out of the table leaving rings. After calling the store, I was told the manager knew exactly how to fix this problem. It took about 4 days and a repeat phone call to him to get him on the phone. His first response was, «You didn’t use a coaster?» I have two kids… and visitors… you can’t control these things. He did offer remedies, which didn’t work. So unique, reasonably priced furniture? Yes. But educated staff and solid after sales service? No. PS… they are an «All Sales Final» shop, which is something you only learn when you see the receipt after you’ve already paid for the product. So don’t expect a refund.

Nadeau has some absolutely gorgeous pieces, although much of the selection is made up of rather large pieces that are too big for my little Austin cottage. Still, I found a few things to lust after, and the prices were not bad at all, especially considering the quality of the materials. Also, the woman working when we visited was cheerful and helpful, and checkout was quick and easy. The hardest part for us was figuring out how to get to the parking lot — The address is on 6th street because it’s in that little furniture center at 6th and Lamar, but to get to the parking lot, you actually need to turn onto Baylor from 6th.(Note: This might be obvious to smart people, of which I am not one.) Coolest item I saw? A regular-looking chair that magically transforms into a step stool. Apparently they were common in the ‘40s or ‘50s, but I’d never seen one before, and it blew my mind. If you go to Nadeau and buy one of those chairs, I am jealous of you.

Great selection of unique, inexpensive furniture — inventory changes frequently so check back often. I found this place since all my Crate & Barrel and West Elm stuff is falling apart — looks like Nadeau’s pieces are actually made from real wood rather than MDF or wood fiber. Check it out.
