The Handyman Keith

I have used The Handyman Keith for several years now. He is honest and very hardworking. For him, there is no job too big or too small. He’s done everything from repairing my fence to changing out light fixtures to replacing the faucets. He is your go to guy for everything !!!

I have had Keith to my home twice now and both times, he’s been super. He’s able to complete all those jobs that just never seem get done around the house both big and small. He is friendly, gets the job done with as little disturbance as possible to my home, and the price is fair. I will definitely call on him again in the near future.

Warning: The Handyman Keith LLC, Aka Keith Mallow, is not as handy as his business name portrays being. After hiring him to do a job at our home back in August, he never showed up ontime, never had the supplies to do the job each day, was dishonest, and what he promised to be completed day one was never done when he left us with his mess of tools, dust, dirt and debris in our home on day 4, and for over three weeks. On day 5, He called off sick with a «stomach bug» for more than a week, while he took to Twitter to tell about his game attendance at a UT game when he should’ve been cleaning up the mess he left in our home and finishing the job we paid him to do. After taking the issue to Travis County Precinct 3 small claims court, the judge decided in our favor and placed a judgement against him, however he has failed to pay us the close to $ 1400 he still owes us. Keith Mallow is unlicensed and has shown no intention of paying back the money he owes us. Just a word of warning next time you seek a «handyman». Do not hire this so called handy man.

Used the wrong faux-​paint finish (glossy instead of satin) and then had us wait 3 weeks before making an appointment to fix the problem, and then never showed up. He got his money, though.

After waiting 3 years to find a handyman to install a new dog door and back door for me I was thrilled to have the work done by KEITH MALLOW, ‘The Handyman Keith’. Well, after measuring my door in December he took my $ 400 Hale dog door so he could install it offsite when the new door was ready for pick up. Keith installed my new door Tuesday and took away the old door with my blessing. It was nice to finally have a door that didn’t have gaps all around letting in the cold air. Unfortunately, however, Keith made his own decision about how to install the dog door and it is too high for some of my dogs to come into the house. I can’t understand why he didn’t just ask me how I wanted it. Anyway, all work was done, and he gave me a total of almost $ 800 for the door and labor. I had purchased the dog door on my own separately. I asked for a materials and labor breakdown and he told me he would email it to me. Now how did he figure out what to charge me and not have that same information to give me at the time he asked for payment? So when I went outside the next morning, boy was I surprised to find that he had left the wood trash stacked up next to my trash can. So today I emailed him and explained I couldn’t dispose of the wood as it is too big for the trash can and I can’t put it out on the street till March when we have large trash pickup. And believe it or not, when I came home from work, not only was the door frame trash still there, the bastard BROUGHT BACK MY OLD DOOR!!! What a JERK! And now, if you live in the Austin area, you know exactly who NOT to use when looking for a handyman.

I had been searching for a handyman for about 3 months before I finally found Keith. I am not sure what is going on in Austin, but seems that all the handymen I had contacted were completely booked or unresponsive to my requests.
I found out about him through a Moolah deal. Not only did I get a good deal on his first visit, but I have finally found a trusting handy man to call in the future. I did enlist his services again and was happy with the result. The price is a little higher, but I feel that is warranted by his knowledge and respect for quality work. His assistant he brought is also very courteous and seemed to more of an apprentice than a ‘helper’.
I felt very comfortable having both men in my house with just me and my toddler. We even had some good conversation and both were very sweet with my daughter. I highly recommend Keith!
