Texas Green Clean

Texas Green Clean is fantastic. I am new to Austin and needed a green cleaning service due to my allergies. I chose Texas Green Clean based on online reviews. Setting it up was simple. Brit was very attentive and gave a quote quick and had a team out right away. The apartment was well cleaned and smelled great! I’ll be using them for my monthly cleaning from here on out. No hesitation in recommending Texas Green Clean to anyone.

I am giving them 3 stars because of the ease of booking, their availability and the general friendliness of the girls who did the cleaning. If you are in desperate need of a quick clean then I would use this service.
However, if you are looking for a deep cleaning with an attention to detail then this service is not for you. I was home during the cleaning so I was able to catch several things but others I discovered after they left: like spots that were not wiped down, floors were still dirty behind doors, they did not vacuumed under or behind baby cribs (very easy to move), kitchen breakfast area was left with food streaks, floor under the bar was dirty. Granted, I am a self proclaimed «clean freak» but for the money I expected a bit more.
Immediately after the cleaning I also noticed some damage to my walls and dents in the fridge shelving. (I would have told the cleaning service about this directly but I never received a follow up call or email).
I paid extra for the refrigerator cleaning so I was disappointed when there were crumbs between the shelves and the glass; the stainless parts were dinged where they banged them against my kitchen sink. We have three kids so this was going to get banged up anyways but the fridge is new and I wanted to be the one to do it ;-)

Still looking for a great cleaning service if anyone has any recommendations.

I have given this service two different attempts to provide even an adequate service and they have failed miserably. The best way to describe it would be to imagine how much housework you could get done if you scrambled around your house for 30 minutes and got as much done as you could on your own… then charge yourself $ 150 – 200 for it. This company has no clue how to dust properly, or what to even dust. Major items like TV’s, computer monitors, and printers appeared to be untouched with thick layers of dust remaining. Both times I paid extra to clean the blinds and both times they weren’t cleaned. Maybe they had a feather duster run over them, but a bright orange soda stain on one was not even touched on either visit and you could run your finger over it lightly and get a finger full of dust. Glass office desk was not touched. They do pretty good with countertops, but faucets will be cleaned on the front half and left untouched on the back half. Just a complete lack of attention to detail coupled with the fact they were only here for about an hour and a half. Management at this place seems to have zero quality controls in place to prevent issues like this. After a complaint the first time around, I was given a discount to try the service again. Unfortunately, the service was just as bad, if not worse, the second time around. I’ve used many services and individuals in Austin over the years and this is easily the worst service combined with the highest price I have experienced. I’ve never had to complain about a cleaning service before, but I have had to twice on this service. The second time around, my email detailing the issues with the service was never returned by management so take that into consideration as well should you experience the same issues. You would be better off to hire someone off of Craigslist site unseen rather than get ripped off by this company.

Texas Green Clean is as good as it gets for a cleaning service in Austin. We’ve tried many and none compare to the professionalism, quality, thoroughness, convenience and general dependability you can learn to count on from Texas Green Clean. I truly can’t say enough good things about my experience with them, which has been limited to a move out clean and a general deep clean. We just signed up for regular cleaning and I’m sure the experience will be the same.

We have been pleased with Texas Green Clean. They are responsive, timely, and their customer service is outstanding. Our first deep clean required a second pass on the floors, but the owner Briton sent out another crew the following day for no charge. Additionally, we feel comfortable using Texas Green Clean because they use green and organic products that are safe for the whole family and our pets.

LOVE Texas Green Clean! The team did an exceptional job and provided the best customer service that we’ve ever experienced. We needed some help on short notice and they were happy to help! Best of all, we they didn’t use any of the harsh chemicals that I’m so sensitive to. We’ve decided to use Texas Green Clean on a regular basis for our home and our business. I highly recommend that you do the same!

These guys are awesome! I was in a crunch with my longtime maid moving… tried a few other companies that were awful. I had heard of Texas Green Clean through a neighbor but thought they were going too expensive. I was wrong, they were affordable and great! Also I felt very comfortable with the ladies that came out. I highly recommend these guys!

Texas Green Clean did a fantastic job cleaning my home. Their team was quick, courteous, on time and thorough.
They also didn’t use a ton of nasty chemicals that irritated my eyes and lungs. Huge plus on that.

Fantastic Service! The lady, Renee, I talked to set up my appointment was very helpful and answered all of my questions about their services. I absolutely love that they don’t use any harsh chemicals to clean my house, except for the oven, but that’s to be expected (how else are you going to clean it?)
The ladies that showed up to my house to clean were fantastic! Fun, and personable. They handled all of my silly requests with a professionalism and grace one can only hope for (I can be a tad picky about how I like my place cleaned). The owner, Brit, even showed up to make sure my clean was done properly, and to make sure I was satisfied.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier, my place looked and smelled FANTASTIC! The products they use are AWESOME! I couldn’t believe you could get your house this clean using only Green products.

On Thursday I had two magical angels, Kayla & Heather, come and clean my house.
I am so happy.
My house looks amazing and is super clean. Everything is in the right place and easy to find. They even vacuumed under my bed and moved all my dog’s toys. They even went under the bed and moved all my dogs toys and cleaned. My tub is rid of all my hair color stains. My fridge was all wiped down too!
My only complaint is that they didn’t call before they came which I asked them to, but whatever.
The price is super reasonable especially for the extra little details they did.
I’ll be calling them again.

Things you should know: Texas Green Clean schedules their cleaners in teams of two. Their online appointment calendar allows you to choose a team and then specify which day/​time you’d like the team to come. Sounds good, right? Well, in my experience Texas Green Clean was excellent for several months when I had team Maribeth, and then team Breana. Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about these gals. They were thorough and consistent, and by request paid special attention to the pet hair that accumulates in my and my fiancé’s small home in east Austin.
Unfortunately, my love affair with Texas Green Clean ended today. I’m not one to write unfavorable Unilocal reviews (you can check my stats), but I felt I should share my experience in order to give other potential customers a head’s up. Last week I noticed an addition of a few dollars (tax) in the confirmation of my bi-​weekly appointment. Although it was small, I was irked by this addition because 1. it showed up suddenly and without explanation after several months of service, and 2. I felt that paying $ 100 for cleaning 850 sq. ft. was already very generous. I absolutely could not extend our house cleaning budget over $ 100 per visit, so the manager of Texas Green Clean kindly obliged me with an hour and half appointment (which equaled about $ 78 with tax). The next thing that concerned me was when I noticed, in my confirmation sent last Friday, that the team who was coming to clean my house Monday (today) was in fact *not* the team I had requested (team Breana) who I had been happily using for months. I spoke again with the manager who assured me that while Breana now worked the north Austin zip codes, my new team leader had in fact worked with Breana at my house for the last few weeks and was quite capable as a team lead.
Cut to this afternoon. I get a call around the time of my appointment from one of the gals coming to clean. They were having trouble finding my house, which is tricky to find the first time because you have to enter from an alley. I was perplexed — «hasn’t one of you been here for the last few weeks?» I asked the gal on the phone, and explained what her manager had told me. She assured me that neither of them had ever been to my house before. I promptly called to voice my dissatisfaction with the manager, who blamed the website’s misinformation on a «third party» calendar. Nothing makes me madder than when a business owner shirks accountability. I have worked in web design and development for years and know that about 95% of online scheduling systems are created with third party applications. It’s quite easy to manipulate the content of your calendar, and I found it unacceptable that this company was misrepresenting itself online. Still, I decided to go ahead and try the new team today. I explained my needs and expectations politely to the gals, and left them over $ 10 tip before I left for the afternoon.
I was a bit disappointed at the job I came home to. While the girls did some of the things I requested, about half of the details I mentioned were left untouched. It was the kind of cleaning job where they hardly moved a thing — even a chair, on wheels — to sweep or vacuum around or beneath. There were big piles of cat litter on the stairs, in the corners of my bathroom, and in the utility room, indicating that the cleaners made little effort to move even the smallest items. I rolled a chair (on wheels) in my living room only to find a dead bug, dust bunnies and tons of debris beneath. And one thing that really got to me: I asked the girls to vacuum under a small throw rug at the top of the stairs, which they did. Accept they didn’t vacuum *on top of* said rug. They also neglected to move and sweep/​vacuum behind either of my litter boxes, which I had asked them to do specifically (and explained that I always clean the cat boxes out before their arrival to make the task more pleasant). It appeared to be a highly rushed job with little attention to details. Certainly not the job I was use to receiving with Breana at the helm.
Wow, that was a long review. I hope it helps someone out there in Unilocal-​land. I am rarely driven to write lengthy, negative reviews on Unilocal.But I feel like the lack of customer service and lack of transparency demonstrated by Texas Green Clean has driven me to this point. Three stars given for the positive experiences I had with this company. Sad I won’t be having any more in the future.

Texas Green Clean did a great job for me. I paid extra to get the fridge cleaned, and it was so worth it! I’d definitely recommend them. They are also really easy to schedule with.

Showed up an hour late and that was just one of them. The other person was later. This was annoying b/​c we had a full day planned and this delayed that. Cleaning job was so so at best. Most definitely not a repeat customer.

Wow. First of all let me say… I have used plenty of cleaning services in the past, because I have the patience of a gnat when it comes to really cleaning well. I have tried a few different ones (I won’t name any names because I don’t like to hurt feelings), but I haven’t been particularly impressed with any company. I also loathe the smell of bleach, so I was instantly drawn to the «green» aspect. So I thought, what the heck, I’ll try Texas Green Clean.
With all that being said, I will no longer search for a different cleaning team because I am seriously amazed! First, the ease of scheduling appointments online and receiving e-​mail communications in regards to the upcoming appointment is a plus for me. However, when I did have a scheduling conflict in regards to my upcoming appointment I spoke with the owner, Mr. Briton, he was very professional and quickly rescheduled my appointment for the following day.
The two ladies; Vonny and Kristine, were great! I work from home sometimes, so I arranged to be home when they arrived. I also have a dog, so I wanted to introduce them before I just had randoms showing up and having my pup being really confused by new people (and the vacuum she never hears).
Vonny and Kristine were so friendly, they were both professional and went right to work. While I sat at my computer one second and looked up and all of a sudden, Viola! My house is no longer an embarrassment! They worked quickly, and it looks like a clean version of me lives in this house! Even though I cannot clean to save my life, I have OCD. So, I added the extras, refrigerator, oven, and windows. My oven looks brand new, my fridge is clean and organized, even my baseboards are clean!
I am thoroughly impressed with the amazing work, how extremely cost effective everything was, the quickness in which the job was complete, the company’s professionalism, and the customer service.
I need not look any further for a cleaning crew again; I will most definitely be back to Texas Green Clean!

They saved me in my time of need and blew away my expectations!
I’m getting married in 2 days. Maybe you’ve bee there before, but I must say that even with an amazingly laid back fiancé, there are a ton of little things to do leading up to the big event. We have relatives coming to stay with us for the weekend, and we decided for the first time in our lives that we could use some help cleaning our place.
What got my attention when I was looking for a cleaning company on Unilocal was Briton’s response when he saw that any customers were not satisfied. The green part of the cleaning effort was a bonus as I like to think of myself as environmentally conscious (don’t tell anyone I threw an old post-​it note in the trash the other day because the recycling bin was too far away).
I sent a short email to Briton at Texas Green Clean and explained my situation. He almost immediately responded and let me know that he would put his best team on it. He asked me questions about cleaning the inside of the fridge and cleaning parts Fast forward to this morning, about 40 hours after I had first emailed Briton. The 4 friendly ladies were in and out of my house in no time, and I couldn’t be happier. They arrived early and all had great attitudes. 2 hours later I could barely recognize my house! And when it was all said and done, it didn’t smell like someone had smeared bleach all over the place (lots of bleach is only a good trick when moving out of an apartment so that the management can smell the effort you put in before giving you back your deposit). Our house now has a pleasant scent with shiny floors, a clean oven and fridge, and our ceiling fans don’t launch dust bunnies at you when we turn them on high.
I could have done much of this myself, although I probably would have done a half ass job, but after I saw the price I realized that my free time is worth A LOT more than what I had paid for this to happen. It made me wonder why I hadn’t done this before and taken a walk down the green belt instead of spending an afternoon vacuuming and mopping my floors.
Dare I say this experience may change my life? At the very least it relieved quite a bit of stress in the days leading up to my wedding. The only reason I’m taking time to write this review instead of running to the dry cleaners to pick up the wedding suits is because I wanted to properly thank Briton and the four wonderful cleaning ladies before I forget how much they have helped me.

I’ve used TX Green Clean a few times now and overall I’m very pleased. For one, it’s super convenient to be able to book my appt online via their scheduling tool. Briton is great as well if you ever have to call. The payment is all done via CC so I’m not writing checks or leaving cash around.
The cleaning service is also very good. I’m a pretty OCD person about certain things so when I come back and they have used a tooth brush to get the annoying crumbs stuck in the range top, I’m seriously almost giddy. If they do happen to miss anything, they are happy to get it when I come back for the review. However, coming back before they leave is a luxury that not everyone has… So if you are particular and can’t come check the work before they leave, I would suggest leaving a checklist for them. There can be a lot to remember!
Overall — it’s hassle free and they do a great job from end to end.

I just got a great deal on a somewhat run-​down place and have been working on it to get it ready for renovation.
Yes, that’s right. I have to clean it out before I can start doing demo work.
(It was a really *great* deal.)
The kitchen was a bit rough, and the bathroom was so grim that I had barely even set foot in there.
Oh, and the kid-​of-​a-​friend I hired to remove the popcorn texture from the ceiling left plaster dust evvvvvvverywhere…
It was seriously looking post-​apocalyptic in there.
So, anyway, Texas Green Clean sent some folks out, and they worked very hard for a long time, and now it’s much nicer and brighter and smells fantastic. Most of what they did was focusing on the kitchen, bathroom, and windows, while I worked alongside them with a broom and shop-​vac to try to get the plaster under control. Their vacuums are more suited to day-​to-​day cleaning rather than post-​renovation junk, but that’s OK– they were busy the whole time scrubbing and scraping and dusting.
They were pleasant, professional, and conscientious. I would gladly do business with them again.

I was a little nervous about trying Texas Green Clean as their reviews are so drastically hit-​and-​miss, but I trusted the experience of Kelly S and liked that they had a Unilocal promotion going on, so I gave them a shot.
We hired them to come in and do a general/​first time deep clean on the house. I’m 99% positive our house was never professionally cleaned between us and the previous tenants, so it may be reasonable to assume it hadn’t been deep-​cleaned in 5ish years. We knew it was going to be a task in terms of dusting, mopping, baseboards, refrigerator, etc. 2 hours seemed reasonable. Getting 3 people and 2 large dogs out of the house long enough for them to take care of business is a big ordeal for us, coordinating works schedules and such, but we managed. The girls showed up on time, checked in with me several times via text, everything seemed wonderful.
4 hours later, they finally let me know they were heading out. I was and am still perplexed as to how our house required 4 hours of cleaning, but there wasn’t an extra charge so I didn’t question it much. Getting home, the house WAS remarkably clean and smelled wonderful. There were a few missed places, like the baseboards in one bedroom, a spill on the baseboard in the living room (came up easily with soap and water), scrubbing the stove top until 100% clean (I just got a rag and finished it myself), cleaning the freezer (I paid for the fridge cleaning service), etc. Unfortunately there were some other weird issues:
1. A trashcan from one of the bedrooms is mysteriously missing. We looked EVERYWHERE, outside and inside, and that sucker is flat out gone. I called TGC and spoke to Briton about it, but we laughed it off as it must have been left somewhere weird and that we’d find it eventually. We still haven’t found it and had to buy a new one.
2. I assume in an attempt to clean my dusty ceiling fan, they sprayed cleaning solution on it. Well, there are three light sockets with bulbs on the fan, which they sprayed, and immediately blew the fuse to. After taking the fan mechanism apart, wiping out all the cleaning solution, replacing the fuse, wiping out all the light sockets and replacing the BRAND NEW bulbs (dimmer compatible, energy efficient soft white, $ 10 each), we got it working again.
In the e-​mails I have exchanged with Briton it doesn’t look like we are going to be compensated for the $ 50 of parts we had to invest in the fan and replacing the trash can. He wanted to send an insurance adjuster over to inspect all the damage, the problem being that we’d already scrambled to get everything fixed and replaced before our guests arrived. Not much we can do about that.
Overall a disappointing, strange situation. Could have gone a lot better.
