History

Established in 2010.

Silver Botanicals was founded by Dean DeWulf and Raymond d’Amico in 2010, with the help of family and friends. Combining talents – Dean, an organic chemist, manufacturer and formulator; Ray, an IT professional, digital artist and health enthusiast – a brainstorming and experimentation process began. «It was our appreciation of colloidal silver and essential oils that eventually lead to the realization of Silver Botanicals’ products. We began selling our products at the local farmers’ markets, here in central Texas … We quickly began to see that a real demand, beyond our initial expectation exists for natural hygiene products.» This process of meeting our customers face-​to-​face continues to this day, which givies us insight and guidance.

We’ve been faithful customers for years and recommend them to anyone looking for a great non-​toxic deodorant. They offer great products but we especially love their silver shield deodorant!
I’ve tried many different brands, natural and not, and the Silver Shield deodorant is hands down, the BEST I’ve come across! They offer refills on the deodorant — another plus, as it’s less of a hit on the environment and our wallet! If you’re wondering how someone could be SO excited over a deodorant, believe me, you can!
I love to support family run business, especially, when their customer service is as great as theirs. Last year, we had a package that was incorrectly delivered by our mail carrier to our neighbors home — we contacted Silver Botanicals and they sent a replacement right away, no questions asked, free. Some time later, our neighbors brought it over and we contacted Silver Botanicals again to pay for the product we had received. We LOVE supporting this company!

Their deodorant is great! I can’t believe how well this stuff works. I’ve tried just about every natural deodorant on the market and either ended up with B.O. or a severe rash under my arms. I’ve been using their roll-​on and it beats everything I’ve ever tried. So, if you’d like to NOT smear a bunch of hormone disruptors and chemicals linked to Alzheimer’s and cancer under your arms every day but would still like to function in a society that doesn’t value stinky hippies, this is your product!

Love, love, love Silver Botanicals products. Found the Silver Shield deodorant on the shelves of Brave New Books in Austin and since we know the healing qualities of colloidal silver, we tried it. This is so much more effective than any other «natural» deodorant and there’s no way we’d ever go back to the toxic commercial deodorants on the market.
We also love the Silver Shield Sanitizer because we have chickens and as we go out and clean the coop every day and come back inside, handling doorknobs and the kitchen faucet to wash our hands, this product really comes in handy to sanitize those objects.
We also have the Silver Foot Shield as my partner has issues with Athletes Foot and it really helps.
One more thing – I totally appreciate that we can buy refills for the deodorant. I don’t like throwing out containers that can be easily refilled, so this makes me very happy.

I met these guys in Jonestown, TX about a year ago at a Farmer’s Mkt type event. I was actually there working (doing chair massages) and when I had time to peruse the other vendors, the one that caught my eye was Silver Botanicals.
They had a sample basket of different scents of deodorant made with silver. One of the founders of the company talked to me about their silver and I was intrigued. I bought a bottle and took a different type sample.
I will never go back to regular deodorant. THIS stuff is the best. I really like the floral scent, but it does sting after shaving, so I later tried the gentle version. My husband uses the regular scent — and we both love it!
On another note… I was out and could feel myself coming down with a scratchy throat. It was one of those times where you could feel it creeping on. I figured there would be some sort of silver product at Brave New Books on Guadalupe St… so I headed there.
Much to my surprise and happiness I found that they sold Silver Botanicals products and had a mouth rinse available. I bought it… ran to gargle… and never got sick! YAY

I ran into these guys at Pecan Street Festival this year, and I am glad I did! I’ve been using Tom’s deodorant for a while, and it just hasn’t been cutting it. I listened to their pitch, tried a sample, and I was instantly sold. I’ve been wearing this deodorant since, and I never smell myself or sweat, or have that nasty deodorant residue under my pits like I do with other deodorants. My best friend bought this deodorant at the same time, and she has tried every single deodorant on the market (prescription, natural, you name it) and she has never had success until she bought this stuff here! I got the «Floral Scent» which smells delicious, but once I run out — I’m going to get the sensitive normal scent, because I am not a huge fan of earthy armpits.
I seemed to have only found one problem with Silver Botanicals so far — and it is the false labeling ;). The deodorant claims «All Day Protection.» It should actually be something like «All Week Protection.» I swear I put this stuff on, went four days without showering, and didn’t have a stinky pit once! How is that even possible? This stuff protects your pits for more than just a day! These guys really changed my armpits’ lives!
I also sampled their mouthwash while I was at Pecan Street and regret not getting it. I finally went to Barton Creek Farmer’s Market and picked up a bottle today! I LOVE THIS STUFF! After I used it, I was telling my roommates about how awesome it is, and they said they could smell my minty cinnamon breath from across the room! Next time I run into their booth, I will probably grab the foot deodorizer, too. Silver Botanicals really has turned me from stinky to sweet!
I am really hoping these guys come out with new products in the future! I would kill for a Silver Botanicals toothpaste! Please?
All in all, Silver Botanicals is the shizznit. They’ve revolutionized hygiene for me and I highly recommend these products to anyone and everyone! Not to mention, these guys really know the ins and outs of their products, are super helpful, extremely nice, terrifyingly interesting, and know what’s up when it comes to odor! Five stars is really not enough to do them justice. Just try them yourself. You’ll see.

I recently discovered these guys at the Barton Creek Farmers Market and absolutely love their all-​natural colloidal silver and essential oil based house and personal hygiene products. The cute guys working the booth were contagiously passionate about the extremely powerful antimicrobial and bacteria killing effects of colloidal silver.
My favorite product is their Silver Shield Deodorant. It is aluminum free and unlike the drug store deodorants that I have used it is actually effective at deodorizing existing odors due to the bacteria killing properties. I also like the light herbal Lavender scent a lot!
The Dog & Bedding Spray also smells great and they explained that the Lavender essential oil blend is relaxing for dogs, helps with skin conditions, relieves itching and deters fleas and ticks. And it is less expensive than the Wondercide that I use for flea and tick control.
I also took some samples of their Healthy Feet Spray and Silver Tongue Oral Disinfectant. I like both and will probably purchase the Silver Tongue next week as it did wonders on my foster dog’s super stinky breath!
