Shaman Modifications Body Piercing

I got my nose pierced at a popular piercing/​tattoo shop here in Austin (that will remain nameless), after reading good reviews on them. However, shortly afterward a bump formed next to the piercing that I could not get rid of, no matter what internet-​derived solution I tried. I revisited that shop to seek advice, but they were so busy and no one even acknowledged me, so we left. I saw that Shaman Modifications was on our way home, so we decided to give it a try.
Even though I did not get my piercing there, I was treated like I did. Jade took her time to give me information, answer all my questions, and show me a video about aftercare that was made for their customers. I purchased a titanium nose ring, and as she put it in for me, she let me know that the piercer had pierced my nose at a weird angle, which could be the reason for the bump. How disappointing, I had no idea! Fortunately, the bump cleared up with some Dr. Bronner’s soap and the quality titanium jewelry (instead of the cheap silver crap that I was pierced with). It’s true this place isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for, and I will definitely go to Shaman for my next piercing.

This was my first piercing experience, and I was equally nervous and excited. Pineapple was awesome with explaining the procedure, answering my questions and reminding me to breathe. If I get another piercing (or a first tattoo), this will be the only place I would consider.

I walked in for a piercing yesterday (I called ahead just to make sure they weren’t too busy) and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I got my daith pierced by Pineapple and he was incredibly knowledgable, accommodating, and professional. Through research, recommendations from friends, and my own personal experience, I will never go anywhere else and highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for piercings.

This was the first non-​lobe piercing that I have ever gotten, and he was great telling me about everything like it was no big deal, which helped to put me at ease.
When we went into the back room, he told me about everything he was using and exactly how he was going to pierce my ear.
When I decide on another piercing, I will definitely be coming back to see him. :)

So I went to by default since no where else in Austin seemed to have a piercer on site on Sunday and it turned out awesome! Jade did a great job at re-​piercing two cartilage holes that I thought had been long gone! She was also helpful when picking out jewelry-​offering some good advice for management and earring sizes.
Definitely won’t go anywhere else in Austin now!

Best piercing experience I’ve ever had. The woman that helped me was very knowledgeable and patient with my questions. Their piercings are higher priced than I’ve paid for in the past, but the quality is obvious. There’s a huge difference between getting pierced at a random austin shop and going here. The quality is very obvious and the piercings are so much more comfortable. I will never go anywhere else ever again!

What a great little piercing studio with exceptionally knowledgable staff, like Pineapple, who’s ability to converse so genuinely with a little girl about her first ear piercing made me smile. Both shops are beyond wonderful. I have been to this location several times. After receiving two poorly place piercing from other local locations, Jade helped me remove and heal them. Now that they were healed Pineapple was able to place my industrial bar properly along with piercing both the left and right tragus.
Here is what I love!
1. They will tell you if you have the anatomy for a piercing if you don’t they will help you find the next best option. They DO NOT Pierce for the sake of getting it done. They pierce for the quality of placement and with the highest quality jewelry.
2. They educate you before, during, and long after the procedure.
3. They give you 100% of their attention. No piercing is to small or to big. If it’s exciting for you it’s exciting to them.

I had a great experience at Shaman. Pineapple explained everything and was really good while he did the nose piercing. He eased my nerves and it was over in seconds. After I left I had a question and called back and they were still very kind. I had a bad experience before at another place when I got my ear bar. They were very unfriendly. This place was very different and definitely will be telling people about Shaman and Pineapple.

This location is in a cute little shopping center on Anderson Mill and is easy to find – parking is available. The shop itself is super clean and it’s a comfortable environment.
I just met one of the piercers, Jade. She was extremely friendly and knowledgable.
I just had to get jewelry put back in, but there’s a sign on the ceiling reminding people to breathe (how helpful) and she told me to focus on my breathing, too.
I’ll most definitely be back soon to get more stuff done by Jade.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who’s wanting a new piercing.

It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten a piercing/​tattoo. I’m very familiar with the Dallas tattoo scene but not Austin’s. Of course, like most of us I went straight to Unilocal to see what places had the best reviews. And Shaman’s popped up with a 5 Star Rating and 200 reviews to boot plus two locations serving Austin.
I decided to go with the Northwest location because it was closer to me and Austin traffic into Downtown is unpredictable. I didn’t feel like being irritated by traffic prior to my piercings. I arrived to the location and it sits in a nice shopping center. There is plenty of parking and you don’t have to pay. SCORE!
The shop was opened on time and the shop is very clean. Actually, they opened the door a few minutes early. This is a big plus in my book. Over the years and just recently I’ve experienced tattoo shops/​parlors not opened at the time stated. Which is annoying as hell especially if you already have slight anxiety.
I walked in and was immediately greeted by Pineapple and Cody (apprentice). I knew exactly who they were from the website. And yes, Cody does have a pretty cool beard. :) Luckily for me Pineapple didn’t have anyone scheduled and could see me right away.
Cody asked what type of piercings I was interested in getting. It ended up being two anchors on the tragus, an industrial (two mini bars) and a daith. Pineapple also advised me on my industrial. I couldn’t get the full bar due to my cartilage at this time. So I took his advise and got the two mini barbells instead. We’ll later do a curve bar.
Once I picked out my jewelry I sat with Pineapple and reviewed all my paperwork and watch an after care video. Never before have I sat in a shop and watched a video about aftercare. I thought that was pretty cool. Pineapple is very personable. We even talked about his upcoming trip to Dallas since I’m from there. After all that was said and done. We went in the room and Cody had everything set up so we could get started.
Pineapple talked me through every single step. He was so extremely thorough like a surgeon. He told me where every pull, pinch and pop would happen. I only cursed once… LOL! That’s pretty good considering how many piercings I received. I would highly recommend him to everyone I know. I plan to get a few more piercings and will definitely be back. Pineapple ROCKS!

I just got a tattoo by Pineapple and it was hands down the best piercing I’ve ever had. He went above and beyond to make me comfortable. He walks you through the steps and is extremely professional. Loved it, ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would go back for more.

Where do I start?! Pineapple… Let’s start there! Best piercer ever! He was so nice and walked me through everything he was doing step by step! And I really appreciate that as someone who gets nervous when it comes to piercings. The shop is immaculate, super clean and sterile! Love the way the glass cases are set up with the jewelry in them! From the location of the store being great to the badass art on the walls I am so excited to say that I will be coming back here for ALL of my future piercings! And I will be recommending this shop, pineapple and his crew to all my family and friends. Thank you all for the best experience!

I have been pierced in many places by many people in various shops around the country. But I’ve gotta say this was the BEST piercing experience I have ever had from the first phone call.
Pineapple was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable when I called to ask about my next piercing. He explained in great detail all the care they take in piercing, which was by far the best conversation I had vs. all the other shops in the area. I was sold by the time the conversation ended.
I schedule my appointment online (love this!) and showed up at my appointment time. Pineapple was actually working at the downtown location that weekend, but I know he spends a lot of time at this new North location so I wanted to leave the review here! He was slightly slammed when I got there, but acknowledged me right away and said he’d be with me shortly.
Everything went great. I was impressed by the sterilization verification technique as well as his customer service and answering all my questions. I even went to see him again a few weeks down the road for a free follow up appointment, where he also recommended an oil remedy to help with some unwanted scarring that was happening. Mind you, they do not SELL a lot of these post piercing remedies, which is awesome because a lot of piercing places want to charge you an extra $ 10 or so for soaps, salts, etc. He simply gave me the info and told me I could pick it up at any local natural grocery store (the stuff was easy to find!).
All in all, I was blown away by every step of my piercing experience here, and I will never go anywhere else for any kind of piercing. I have already recommended Pineapple to anyone who asks.

Awesome experience. I came here because of the 5 star reviews (for both this location as well as the south location) and all of the comments on cleanliness and professionalism. I wasn’t led astray. I was just getting a simple nose ring, but I’ve had terrible piercing experiences in the past and wasn’t looking to repeat those mistakes. Pineapple was a very nice guy, very friendly and professional. He explained everything about the procedure and the sterilization products and processes to me. He even helped me with my decision on which side to pierce based on aesthetics and practicality. I was very impressed and pleased with my choice of body modification shops for my piercing. I highly recommend this place!

Great experience. I feel comfortable saying that Pineapple is, easily, one of the finest piercers you could hope to have take care of you. He’s professional, caring, educated and explains everything to your satisfaction. His aseptic technique is impeccable. I will return for all my piercing needs.

Amazing. I went here because of Pineapple’s reviews. The place was clean and calm. The staff was professional and Pineapple’s experience is the reason for my review. When you have the skills, knowledge and expertise he does there really isn’t a better place to go. This was my first one and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I went to get my nipples pierced yesterday after 4 years of wanting to get them done. I did a couple of months of research and came across the glowing reviews for the studio in Austin. Pineapple was piercing at this location on Sunday, so I booked my appointment and made the trek down from Dallas.
I am a huge baby. I freak out when getting my blood drawn. I typically pass out when I get injured. I had read tons of blogs that said that getting nipples pierced was the worst, most excruciating pain ever. Needless to say, I was scared to death.
I got caught in traffic on the way down from Dallas (i-​35 is the devil) and Pineapple was nice enough to push my appointment back an hour so that I could make it. He was so nice on the phone! When I arrived, he walked me through the autoclave process and answered all of my questions pertaining to aftercare, when I could work out, what to do as far as protecting my piercings while at work (I coach adaptive gymnastics). He then took me back and measured and marked my nipples. I laid back on the table, and Pineapple coached me through a breathing technique.
The actual piercing bit took less than 2 minutes. It definitely hurt, and a slew of expletives vomited out of my mouth, but it did not hurt nearly as much as I thought it would and it was unbelievably fast. I was maniacally laughing from all of the adrenaline by the time it was done. I couldn’t stop cackling like a crazy person, which I suppose is way better than crying or freaking out.
I will recommend Pineapple and Shaman Modifications to everyone I know! Seriously, if you’re looking for a quality piercer, Pineapple at Shaman Modifications is the only way to go.

Went in today for a septum piercing after finding their new shop through Unilocal.I had checked out their main shop’s page, and everyone seemed to love it, so I wanted to give them a try.
Pineapple had been in the back talking to some other customers, but he made sure to come out and check in with me when he saw me come in to the shop. When I told him what I had wanted, he explained his entire process to me before we did anything else, and he made sure to explain it again when we went back to the piercing room. Throughout the entire process, he was very helpful and thorough while still being extremely friendly. Because of how close this is to my house, and how awesome Pineapple was, I will definitely be going back for all of my future piercings.
