I’m a «local» — meaning I’ve been in Austin for more than five years. That’s good enough right? I wouldn’t have thought I could actually enjoy a shop on sixth street — pfft! too touristy for me! Actually, this place has everything you need whilst on sixth street. It has great Texan«touristy» stuff too, that even this local can enjoy! I even bought a shirt while I was in there because the price was good and you can’t rep your city enough.

They have almost anything you want anytime you want it, it not they just send you down to shop 24. This place truly shows who has the hardest work ethic around. Always looking to help you when you come in and always showing off Ausitns good side. They do it right and right and right, the only way they know how. Very professional.

Any store that knows what I want the moment I walk in the door and has it waiting for me on the counter is going to get five stars in my book. It could have something to do with the fact that I have been coming into Scruffy’s before work for almost two years now. This store has a ton of stuff from clothing to collectibles, drinks, cigarettes, belts, medication and just about everything in between. They don’t have the crazy selection that Shop 24 has but they also don’t have the bums out front and beggars. Overall this is my favorite Sixth Street store to pick up last minute supplies, grab a snack or just get a bottle of water. It’s also important to note that they aren’t open all night so you might have to walk the extra block to Shop 24 if Scruffy’s is closed.

This place(I need two better words to begin my reviews with) is the happy little step brother of Shop 24, under the same parental control but different in fundamental ways. The largest of which is that, while they have a lot of convenience store stuff, they also have a lot of t-shirt shop junk. I did find«superdrunk» coozies here, a rare and valuable item. Also, they can make change, even if you need several hundred dollars in one dollar bills(for a price, handy when the banks are closed. Then again, I may have just opened these guys up to a big robbery, though they are pretty well connected guys) They folks here are friendly, the place is clean and bright, and the cigarrettes are appropriately expensive.
