Rooms to Go

Bought a dresser and had a ridiculous delivery experience. They use 3^rd parties for deliveries and sent me a crew of two men who were they most unprofessional employees ever. They wore their dirty shoes on my carpet, extremely rude, damaged my wall, broke the dresser and when I asked them to move dresser to the wall I wanted it on they replied «we ain’t gon move things around!» They then continued to be rude and left the dresser where they wanted to put it about a foot away from my wall leaving me to move it myself.
In regards to the drawer handle they broke, they have the worlds worst customer service. To replace one handle they have to take the mirror and dresser back and give me a 12 hour delivery window to sit home and wait for. They will then deliver a new dresser and mirror. When I asked and even begged to just switch out the drawer they said they can’t do that? how does that make any sense. Will NEVER buy anything from them again and I have the joy of having another 3^rd party delivery crew in my home. As if the last ones weren’t rude and verbally aggressive enough, I get to do it again next Saturday!

An update on what happened in the summer that I’m still trying to suppress from my memories: Kim, the manager, is awesome. She understood how bananas of a situation that this all was an approved a refund. I had everyone come and take it all back considering as every time they came to replace something that was damaged, the replacement was also damaged. I was even told, «Seriously? Is this going to be that big of a deal? You can’t even see it. Do you REALLY want to go through all of this crap again?» So that was cool. Thank god for Kim.
Also, if you’re thinking that you’re really clever by just going across the street to Ashley Furniture – don’t. Ashley Furniture and Rooms to Go are two peas in one terrible pod. Save yourself a world of hurt.

i ordered a complete complete condo of furniture to be delivered in a very upscale high rise condo for my son going to college in austin. the freight elevator can only be reserved half a day at a time. well rooms to go will only tell u 48 hours in advance of estimated delivery date. so u don’t know when to reserve it. if somebody else has it tough.
to top if off i confirmed with rooms to go as well as amex a week ago the furniture going to an address not on my amex card. the furniture is to be delivered tomorrow i hoped. i call today to try and get a delivery date and they say it’s on hold waiting to verify the delivery address is ok with amex. i call say we did that last week. that was this morning. i get bounced around for an hour on phone to find out they want to verify again. lady promises to call me back in 5 minutes. 4 hours later i’ve been on the phone another hour.
the WORST most unprofessional group i’ve dealt with. i’m cancelling the entire order in 2 minutes if not satisfied.
from the get go this has been a pain in the rear. calls and calls and no answers and pushed to somebody else. i’ll find somebody else that wants to sell an entire condo full of furniture!
never again these guys!

DO NOT GO HERE EVER! In defense, they have some nice employees, but the business model is terrible. No parts, no good delivery, no service, no competence, NO REFUNDS in case they fail you completely.

I am a repeat customer of rooms to go located in south park meadows and its a shame that this experience was awful! first off the lady who scheduled the delivery put me down for the incorrect time. My husband was able to speak to a customer service representative that agreed that the driver would call before he arrived and if he did not we would not be charged the delivery fee. Guess what that DID NOT happen! I received a call from Edrio with the dispatch dept. Stating the driver was outside and if i could open the door. I asked him why they did not call. He then blamed ROOMS TO GO for not noting the account. He either offered to leave the furniture outside or reschedule. He also stated that i could cb once i did get home and they would reach out to the driver to turn back around. During my drive home Kelly with rooms to go called asking how my delivery went i kindly explained everthing to her and she apologized she reviewed my account and CONFIRMED UNDER INSTRUCTIONS DRIVER WAS TO CALL ONE HOUR BEFORE! Once i arrived home i called the dispatch dept and notified them they stated they would reach out to the delivery manager to see if the driver could turn back around and they would cb. I waited a HOUR AND A HALF and no cb from dispatch so i called them and was notified i had to reschedule because the driver was out of my area. I am not a hot tempered person but this is ridiculous! I then called rooms to go and spoke to a manager named Tony i then explained my situation to him and informed him that we did not receive a courtesy call before hand. His answer is that it is not there policy to offer these type of calls becauae typically it doesn’t happen. ITS NOT OKAY FOR A MANAGER TO KNOW THIS AND NOT HIS STAFF. HIS STAFF IS OFFERING THIS ! What a great leader. I honestly was not getting anywhere with Tony so i just requested a refund. HE REFUSED. Stated they could not refund my deposit so my only choice was to reschedule to another day. My husband has spoken to a couple other managers that were clueless and stated our account is locked so they could not look it up. WEIRD! We would love to speak to a regional manager to see what he thinks about all if this and discuss how one of his staff did not follow protocol and now WE the customer does not have the furniture they ordered. However NO ONE will give us his or her name or phone number. All we hear is «i cant release that information». We were instructed to cb to discuss the account in 3 days. If this has happened to me i am sure it has happend to others this staff needs to be trained!

Well, I guess places like this are why Unilocal exists — something that leaves you so frustrated that the only justice you can see is just being mad online. I bought a couch that was cute from here, but after sitting on it for longer than 15 minutes, it became obvious that it was a hell trap for my back and neck. Like really, just so deeply uncomfortable that I regretted buying it. Some language on the site made it seemed like I could get a partial refund so I went back to try to return it – it still is brand new with the tags on and everything — and a very rude lady got to have a fun moment telling me I was wrong for thinking they’d ever work with me for a refund, even a partial one. I regret ever buying products here and am deeply disappointed that management couldn’t help work with a disappointed customer.

After the world’s longest search for a Sectional, we found one here. Sofia Vergara it is. Comparable products at other stores are twice as expensive.
Yes, their terms are asinine (big corp policies). But the showroom is outstanding and the sales folks are pleasant (yep) and not pushy at all.
Delivered as promised and we are happy as a clam.

I give them a 1 star even though we had a good experience in the store and love the furniture we picked. But their customer service (which is all handled out of call center) is a nightmare. We ordered a bedroom set and were very excited because we had never had bed room furniture but it has ended up being a nightmare. The same week we ordered my parents got a new dining room table, chairs and buffet from this store, every chair was damaged and so was the buffet. It had hoped it was a one off deal. The communication on delivery was great, text and phone call to give me the window. The drivers were there exactly half way in the window and were extremely polite. But the headache was one of our two nightstands was damaged where it couldn’t be delivered and the bed scratched. The lead driver told me he was putting in a ticket and I would be contacted within 30 minutes. I never got a call, I figured it was late and I would give them one business day because I have worked in customer service and understand it doesn’t always go as planned. One day passes no call, I call on my lunch break and get an extremely long hold, after 10 minutes I opt to have a call back. They call back while I am in a meeting and do not leave a message. When I get off work I call the store, the associate tries to rush me off the phone. I understand he was likely a salesman but service after the sale is what creates repeat customers. He quickly says «I’m putting in a ticket someone will probably call tomorrow.» The next day I do get a call, no apology that I am having to do all the work or was shorted a piece of furniture I paid for just a rushed «It will be delivered next Wednesday.» I asked if they would call with a window «Yes, two days like before.» Fast forward to the delivery of the missing nightstand, it comes in and the drivers are not courteous like the previous guys. They hardly spoke English and gave me a dirty look when I asked why they were not putting on the pulls, I didn’t buy Ikea Furniture so I don’t plan to put any part together! Once they left I realized my nightstands do not match because one has two top drawers (the drawers aren’t identical), back to calling customer service. I tell them I will not be able to take off and I need a drawer shipped, they said the can do that. After two weeks we were still without the replacement drawer, I called and the customer service and was told «oh yeah, the notes didn’t specify which drawer. Apparently not having good notes means they can just ignore it? As of today it has been two months and we still don’t have everything we paid for. I have tried to express my frustration to a manger or even customer service but managers don’t exist and customer service doesn’t know the meaning of the word. And that scratch on the bed? No one has ever called even though I have mentioned it with my 6 customer service calls, it isn’t noticeable but they pointed it out and should at least call when they said they put in a ticket. The furniture is beautiful and affordable but it seems you’re unlikely to get all pieces undamaged and if you have to work with customer service set your expectations really low so you’re not disappointed.

We just got hung up on by an associate at Rooms To Go while trying to get a manager to find out why our delivery is taking longer than it should (should’ve been here between 12 – 4, it’s now after 4). No call from ANYONE to let us know ANYTHING about the delivery. This is a delivery to replace furniture from TWO previous visits because 1) Our bedroom set was broken and 2) Our furniture was not protected like we had paid for. And we were hung up on trying to find out what was going on. Really? I wish we had that girl’s name because we are going to be going to that store tonight and raising a stink. Absolutely horrendous customer services.

I have been waiting to buy new furniture for half the year. I found great pieces and purchased that day. That day I placed delivery and understood it was on back order. I’d have to go a week without furniture at my new place. Okay, I understand that happens. I was specific to set up delivery because I would be out of the country on vacation. I set up time at the freight elevator, took time off of work. I get a call today to set up delivery. Ummm, what? I said I had a day. No, it wasn’t in their books and that they tried to reach me… wait for it… while I was out of the country. So I insisted since the error was on their part, they needed to get me on the day I had set up and paid for. No can do, they’ll talk to the salesperson, he was new… Umm, so I have to go another week without furniture? Yep. Do you compensate in any way? Nope. Ridiculous, this will be my last purchase from Rooms To Go.

Crappy customer service/​delivery. They driver left when my neighbor let him in, now, after paying a delivery charge, Im waiting again 2 weeks for it to get delivered. This is to replace the furniture I originally bought that fell apart

I just wanted to thank everyone that have previously posted reviews.
I was just looking at the Rooms To Go website and really liked what I saw.
I was ready to drive to the store to get an idea of the quality of merchandise but after reading the overwhelming majority of $#!t reviews I’ll pass…
Thanks to Unilocal and fellow reviewers I won’t have t waste my time on Rooms To Go.
I left three stars in fairness since I haven’t physically been to a store.

I’m writing this on behalf of my mom, who recently purchased a mattress here about a month ago. She asked for an extra firm mattress and received something that’s a lot softer than what she needs. They has employees come and inspect the mattress and they told her everything was fine, even though my mom told them the mattress is uncomfortable and causing her pain. She’s almost 70 and has extremely painful rheumatoid arthritis. Poor customer service — they should deliver on the quality products they claim to sell.

I will never buy from rooms to go again! Their delivery and customer service sucks. My delivery window was 4pm-​8pm. I left work early to make sure I was home by 4pm. The driver called at 7pm and barely spoke english. He claimed he was outside of my house. I told him he wasn’t. He then acted like couldn’t hear me and hung up on me. The customer service line closes at 6pm so I called the store. The woman I spoke too said she would have dispatch call me back after they got in touch with the driver. I received a call from dispatch an hour later! She said the driver was in Bastrop. It was now 8pm. I said how long until he gets here. This is the end of my delivery window. I have waited 4 hours! She then argued with me and tried to tell me it was only 7pm. I asked her where she was calling from and she said Florida. I said it is 8pm here in Austin! She didn’t even apologize. I called the driver myself to see if he was coming. He acted like he could not here me again and hung up.
To make a long story short they showed up at 10:30 pm to deliver my furniture. I was in bed! The chair & ottoman have a clear coating that looks like it has been splattered on it. I. In the meantime I had called the store back after dispatch called me and let them know how upset I was. The guy I spoke too could have cared less. He said then don’t buy furniture here. Really rooms to go??? This is your answer. I will tell everyone I know about my horrible experience.

Very excited to view the Cinderella carriage bed at Rooms to Go store, I take my 7 year old daughter to the showroom in Southpark meadows. Very happy that she is getting a big girl room we try out the bed and another canopy bed. After much thought she decided on Belle Noir Dark Merlot 4 pc Zebra Canopy bed. The sales woman sadly informed us that the Full version for $ 699 was on back order until end of May and to check back with them. A little disappointed we leave and look at a few other places before heading home.
Fast forward to this week when my daughter reminds me that her calendar says its time to pick up her bed. We head to the store and I explain to a gentleman the situation. He assures me that he can help and gathers all of my personal information and then gives me a total of $ 800. Puzzled I ask how is this $ 800 when now the bed is being advertised on sale for $ 599.
He charged me for the separate pieces and at the regular price. It took a manager to review the advertisement to tell me that they cant change the prices in the computer regardless of the advertisements. Its set by corporate. Then the lady points out that they have no full beds it only comes in Twin. After explaining our first trip to the store and time and effort and excitement of my 7 year old, the manager Kim just looked at me. I called my daughter over and explained they don’t have the bed in her size and she was very disappointed. When I turned around to ask about other options Kim had disappeared and the original sales man was already scamming, oops I meant, «helping» another family.
I called the customer service number and the representative Sam was of no assistance. I was promised a call back and yet to receive one.

This is a horrible place in general. They honestly deserve 0 stars. All these people care about is selling you stuff. They lie and this place has no standard of ethics or integrity what so ever. The fabric protection is optional which they also did not make clear to us when purchasing our couch. I had to find out by reading other reviews. When I called to ask about this Ahmed claimed that he told us this when in fact he did not ever mention it was an optional service. I even second guessed myself and asked my boyfriend if he had mentioned it was optional. My boyfriend confirmed that he never did say that. Basically, at one point when I called to inquire about this he kept trying to talk over me. I had to actually say, «Will you let me finish my sentence? Will you let me talk please?»
Later he called and said that I would be getting a $ 96.00 dollar refund because the couch was on sale for that week. That was April 17 and I am still waiting for that check.
Don’t expect a call either when you furniture is delivered. I was lucky I was able to get off work to be at my home when they arrived. It also takes 3 weeks to get your furniture since they have it in a warehouse in Houston. Really???
I love my couch, but that is the first and last time I will be ordering from here. Basically, the requirement to work here is to honestly know how to lie.

So they finally pick up furniture ⁰²⁄₀₄ and chunk it in the back of their truck no handle with care even dragged part of sectional couch on concert material side down. I wait 2 days and call the store asking About my refund, the girl says come in and we will refund directly to your card. I drive there only to find out no they can’t do that I have to wait another 2 weeks for a check! Meanwhile, I over hear a couple asking for the manager don’t forget «Todd «and the lady says the bed y’all delivered is not the one I picked out in the store wow! So they walk over to the display just like I did. I suppose she will post too!!!
I realize this rant has gone on too long but I hope it saves someone else the mental anguish in looking to buy anything from this company,

We had a great experience at RTG. My husband and I went to the RTG location on S I35, on a Monday evening, where we were immediately greeted and assisted by Chris Dumas. We were in and out with two sofas selected, paid for, and set for delivery in maybe all of 20 minutes. It helps to go to their online store and narrow down your selections in advance so you know what you actually want to take time to view and try out.
Our sofas arrived on their scheduled delivery date, the movers got them in and were careful to pay attention to their surroundings while moving the sofas. We absolutely love our new couches (style, comfort, and cost) and would do it again.

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They are a rip off from delivery charges to taxes all the way to the warranty!!! Take it from me and so many people I know personally that have made the mistake of purchasing furniture from them! Save yourself the stress and headache!
