Anyway I can give this a negative star? It doesn’t even deserve a one star. Went to Austin for a cheap girls trip for the weekend. Instead it got more expensive from going to the doctor, buying medicine and cream for BED BUGS!!! Stay away from this hotel!!!

It’s not in central Austin but it’s so close to it that it doesn’t really matter! Located only 5 miles north on I-​35 from UT, this Rodeway motel is an affordable and convenient accommodation. This motel is located at the intersection of 290 and 35, yet you won’t hear much of the noisy freeway traffic because the motel is by the curving overpasses where cars must slow down. The room is relatively clean and spacious, and the free Wi-​Fi is actually surprisingly fast for free motel Wi-​Fi. Though nothing glamorous, the breakfast has the basic choices like toast and cereal and gets the job done.
Free breakfast, free Wi-​Fi, and free parking — all at a reasonable rate? This is a good choice for a short weekend stay in Austin!

Okay, so honestly its not HORRIBLE, but I definitely will never stay here again. Next vacation, I’ll save up the extra cash to go somewhere a little nicer.
The front desk staff is not friendly, whatsoever. The free breakfast… nonexistent. The rooms were somewhat clean, however they smelled terrible. Every time we’d put the air conditioner on the whole room would smell like urine. Ick. There is no antibacterial hand soap provided, or any hand soap for that matter, just a face/​body bar. Also, our T.V. was completely lopsided, like comically lopsided. The carpet was filthy, my socks were really dirty after walking on the carpet. Again, gross.
With all that being said, the bed was comfy and the sheets and blankets felt and smelled clean. It IS inexpensive and is actually in a kind of great location. You just jump right on the expressway from the hotel and go pretty much anywhere in Austin. The booking process was pretty easy and there wasn’t any hassle about it when we arrived. And about the breakfast thing, I was in AUSTIN FREAKING TEXAS, I wanted delicious, filling, yummy breakfast tacos from great local places, anyway, so oh well.
So with all that information, I wouldn’t blame you for going ahead and booking the hotel or deciding to save up a bit more for a nicer joint. It was a less than average experience.

Would not let my dog sleep here. Love them more than that! Scary with prostitutes active. Straight up barrio. And the manager was SOOOO RUDE!

This place is freaking awesome! Being we only stayed there one night, at last minute on south by southwest weekend, we weren’t looking for anything fancy. Just a bed to sleep in, so I didn’t really set the bar too high. I called to book a room, I think it was Israel that I spoke too? (Could be wrong) he was so helpful and nice. Rooms were awesome, they defiantly don’t look like what you would think they would by looking at the outside of the hotel. When we woke in the morning to check out, another employee, was even very friendly. I wouldn’t mind staying here again when I come back to Austin :)

This place charged two of our credit cards! One for 100 $ and the other for 77 $ for a one night stay. Took a scan of my boyfriends identification and said one MONTH later that anyone who stayed in the room had to be charged a 100 $ deposit, after they said his card (Wells Fargo) paid for the room. We are now being charged a month later 77 $ off of my card while they claim there was only a deposit and they have now debited my card too. I was never told about a 100 $ deposit and we were in Austin to work to the union. We never agreed to pay $ 177.00 for a one night stay or we would have been at the Hilton!!! They are scam artists. We are disputing and fighting for our money back now, 1week of wasted time but we believe in catching these scam hotels and motels! Good luck and avoid this Roadway inn!!!

Make no mistake that this is a basic hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed for one night and paid $ 110 (downtown hotels were going north of $ 270 that weekend). Although it’s nothing fancy on the outside, it’s updated enough on the inside, we were comfortable, and we slept just fine despite it being close to the highway.
The suite had most of the common amenities: microwave & fridge, 32″ TV, bath and shower, couch, desk, and coffee table, luggage stand, hair dryer, and I think an iron. Although our room faced the highway, there wasn’t too much noise. Most of the noise came from the parking lot and hallway, which is easily heard. The room did smell a bit, um, old, but overall it didn’t bother us. It was clean… mostly. There was an old contact lens stuck to the wall of the bathroom, which was gross.
Check-​in was extremely slow, but check out was a breeze. There is breakfast provided, but it’s basic: cereals, juices, waffle maker (not really an eggs & bacon place). With all the great joints in Austin, we didn’t eat it anyway.
The biggest pain is that parking is a squeeze. There were only 4 spots left in entire lot when we got back around 10:30 (with two cars in the process of checking in…) so I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do when their lot fills up.

You get what you pay for. The room was clean, and the service at the front desk was good. We were only there to sleep and get up to explore Austin all day.
The inside looks better than the outside. The pool looks cleaner than some hotels that I have been to.
The rooms look like they have recently been remodeled, but they could have done a better paint job among other details. What concerned me was some black spots in the bath tub. The motel is right beside the highway, so it was hard to sleep with all the noise on Sunday night, but it didn’t bother me on the other nights.
Your stay comes with a simple breakfast – coffee, cereal, juice. But why eat there when you can munch out at all the great options in Austin?
Our stay was okay. They are definitely more comfortable places but of course for a higher price. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Excellent place to stay. Only here for a night out in Austin, and it took us 3 minutes to get checked in. My room was clean and beautiful. Really well taken care of. I will be staying here again next time I come for the UT-​TCU game this thanksgiving!

Overall ok — room was clean and spacious. I was on the ground floor, so saw some bugs in the hallway at night (assuming this is likely common for the south?). One straggler found it’s way into my room on my last night, but otherwise no issues. Location is close access to I-​35, near a shopping plaza. Definitely wouldn’t label it as ‘downtown’ but I didn’t particularly mind. They claimed the wifi was down due to a recent storm… seeing a review from 3 weeks ago claiming the same thing, I’m assuming this is a common issue. Finally on day 3 of 3 the internet was back up… but wasn’t very fast.

Great staff and lovely rooms recently remodled from an obviously dumpy former self. Room was very spacious and clean, they made extra effort to honor my personal requests regarding the chemicals used in the room– just call a few hours ahead to make sure they got the memo if you use an online booking site! WiFi was down in the rooms during our stay due to a recent storm.

Just stayed at this Property this past weekend for a 4 night getaway. Don‘t let the 2 Star rating fool you. This Hotel is a «Find & a Gem»! If your travels are taking you to Austin, TX for Business or Pleasure, look no further for your Lodging. «Jay» the GM and the rest of his Staff will treat you better then Family! All rooms have been completely renovated, upgraded, and with all new furnishings and top of the line Bedding too! HD TV, Microwave, Refrig, etc. You can pay a lot more but get much less! Convenient short drive to Airport and Downtown too. Excellent Mexican Restaurant located on site as well. Can‘t wait for an excuse to return to Austin, TX and stay again at this Property. Thanks Jay, for a great experience!

I give 5 stars for the price, clean newly renovated rooms, great staff, and amazing beds. The outside is a little dated but unless you’re sleeping in your car, who cares. Would stay here again for sure!

great location, great price, customer service top notch, free upgrade to suite, clean rooms, new fixtures, quiet for being near highway (must be triple-​pane glass), will recommend to all our Austin visitors

This place was a bit of a disappointment. My wife booked this place for a quick family trip to our favorite city Austin. I noticed upon research of this place that there was only one review (which was positive) and that this hotel has been newly remodeled only four months ago.
When we arrived we noticed the structure in front of the hotel that we thought was the front desk lounge only to find out if that is a Mexican restaurant that has been installed in the front part of the motel which was kind of interesting. When we arrived we waited a few minutes because there was no one at the front desk.
After about 5 to 7 minutes a gentleman arrived and apologized which was just fine he indicated he just walked across the street to the Mexican restaurant in front. We initially booked a king suite but the only one that was available was on the second floor and with a newborn we needed to have a room on the first floor so they quickly switched us to a double queen suite. The room was okay my biggest issue is that we do not like motels where the room is directly facing outside. The room itself was very clean it had a 32 inch flatscreen HDTV and the restrooms were clean as well you could tell that with the remodel they had not quite finished a lot of areas because in the bathtub Had a few scrapes and scratches in it.
We were a little bummed that they did not offer hot breakfast but we rarely eat breakfast at the hotel that we are at anyway. They did have muffins and cereal but we decided to pass on the sugary overload. They did offer free Wi-​Fi which worked just fine on our first night but the second night it was pretty spotty and when I called the front desk a young lady by the name of Adrienne. I indicated to her that our Wi-​Fi network was not working she suggested that it might have been the computer but I told her that I have three different electronics that were Wi-​Fi-​enabled that were not able to pick up the network and she simple said «Well it works up here»…Alllllllrighty Then I say then hang up.
I’m not going to completely bash this motel because they did have some good areas 1. being the fact that they were right off the freeway and about five minutes to downtown and 2. that the la Jalascianas restaurant was on site and the food was pretty awesome And they also delivered our order directly to our room when we called. 3. As a government employee For the weekend we only paid $ 50 per night which was cheaper for the quality of hotel than any others in the vicinity.
But the question at hand that you’re wondering is I’m sure is this… Will we be back? Probably not Hopefully as time progresses they will work the kinks out in this motel but again this is a pretty solid option if you are budget minded and will spend more time outside of the room than inside.

This place is a good deal. Not perfect or high end, but clean and has everything you need in a room. Plus the big king suites are huge and they have free wifi. Look somewhere else if you want breakfast to be included or anything besides a place to sleep and shower.
