Rockaway Beach ATX

Too much stiff bread, cheap meats, spicy but flavorless spread, unmelted cheap cheese… Maybe their Italian sub isn’t their good sub, but I disliked it enough to through it away half way through and get something else for lunch. I can’t remember the last time I did that.
They were nice, but disappointing sub :(

Still rockin’ and rollin’ over here off e riverside! Now you can get your sub toasted; nice touch during the chilly months of the year. I’m still not really sure where you can get a bigger sub in the Austin area, especially for the price. The large sammy is super affordable and you won’t be able to finish it in one sitting. I’m 6 and a half feet tall with a killer appetite and love knowing when I buy a large sub at this shop, it will be my lunch & dinner. 2 meals for the price of one. Gotta love it

Really liked that turkey sandwich, and they have quite a few veggies and ingredients you can add to your sandwich to spice it up. Decently priced, they have 14 inch subs for I think it was 11 dollars if your really hungry. The patio is really cool. But yep, I recommend this place and give it a 2 thumbs up.

Welp. I just spent ten dollars with tip on a sandwich and I had pretty high hopes. It wasn’t terrible, but there are definitely better places to get a sub.
First– the bread is really hard so when you eat it every bite pushes the insides out the other end…
Second-​the turkey is not good. Not good at all. I had to take it out and I’m not picky. It’s very processed and watery.
Third– the «fresh avocado» is a spread and not fresh, mine was kinda brown actually.
Fourth– there was really no flavor to the spicy mayo. It was hot, that’s about it. I may try the snow cones if I ever find myself there again, they looked good.

This place is super legit! Big-​ass sandwiches served by friendly employees, and they deliver too! Screw Jimmy Johns, this is my new spot. :)

I had seen these food truck areas off riverside but never took the time to stop and find out what types of food.
Well, one day I was feeling extra lazy and looked up delivery places in my area. I recognized the rock away beech truck and decided to get food their
I ordered a large spicy turkey sandwich. Do not order a large unless you intend to share or eat nothing but that sandwich for two days lol it’s massive. I loved the sandwich, maybe lacking a bit of flavor here and there then I would get a bite of the spicy stuff and I needed no more flavor haha.
I’ll definitely eat here again but I’ll be getting the regular size.
Ps. Delivery is a $ 4 charge which I was find with but just be aware. Also, the delivery was guesstimated to take 45 minutes to an hour but took maybe thirty minutes. The delivery guy was very nice too.

If you were wondering where to find the perfect raspas/​sub sandwich punk themed food trailer, look no more. Rockaway beach is your spot. I usually get a cantaloupe snocone and load it up with the chile powder. It is a v bomb combo. For the subs I keep it G with the Cali club. They deliver too so that is a plus if you’re not tryna get your drive on. Definitely check their food out if you get a chance

Delicious shaved ice but super long wait. Probably not worth the wait. Might have been because there was only one guy working. They did have a ton of flavored for shaved ice including a few sugar free options.

Decent food but seriously if yall can’t count change correctly I’m sure as heck not giving you a tip.

In my opinion, this is the best sub sandwich that I have had in Austin so far! Be careful not to pass up this tiny food trailer park and cross your fingers that you will find a parking spot. We were lucky and there was someone pulling out as we were pulling in. I feel like people come and go pretty quickly so, I am not sure how much of a problem it would be during peak hours! I know it is hot out but, they do have some picnic tables that have shade covering and it wasn’t too bad.
I ordered the create your own three meat sub and chose pepperoni, salami and bacon! You have the option to add tons of veggies and cheese. I chose pepper jack cheese (careful some of the peppers are really spicy), black olives, onions, jalapenos and pickles! You also get your choice of 7 inch or the 14 inch. I was very full from the 7 inch but, if you have a huge appetite, I would recommend the larger size! They don’t skimp you on toppings, the service is fast and the bacon oh my the bacon!
They have shaved ice but, I couldn’t bring myself to order one after the sub. This will be in my regular lunch rotation now!

We come here because the snow cones are some of the best in town but it seems to be that every time we come the customer service is less than stellar just a little bit of attitude given over orders…

Very fast service! There is a nice covered area for you to sit and enjoy your and cone. I had the mango Picadilly and I went overboard on the koolaid, but it was still good. Too sweet for me to finish it, but it was still tasty and I enjoyed it, particularly since it’s super hot in Austin today.
One thing I noticed, very limited parking. People do leave quickly, but you may have trouble finding a parking spot during peek hours.

I ordered a wedding cake/​strawberry cheesecake snow cone with an ice cream scoop at the bottom. Thankfully this one was not watered down like many other snow cones I’ve tried here. I’d visit again.

I love these subs, I’ll order one of the «favorites» or «create my own». Delicious but very slow.

Wow! I came at the end of a rangey, intense rain storm looking for a burger. What I found was the only quality punk rock sandwich hut in Austin. This guy knows sandwiches and what makes them great. He carries a myriad of extras to add onto and satiate every proclivity/​taste in town. I don’t know his origins but can surmise he has been there now has brought it to us.
Me — I got the turkey, ham, bacon, on 12″ white rolled buns w/​tangy pepper jack cheese, butter lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and his rockaway spicy mayo. It’s enough food for 2 meals. He also has ices in every flavor, chips, drinks, and you know he knows. As impulse of a stop as I will make I must give this guy props and kudos for sticking out the storm and loaving the hungry of the plenty. Just go. Confidence and delivery in spades.
P. S. his choice in bread/​baked loaf suppliers is tops.

You will surely get a juicy snow cone here. My boyfriend loved his stupid orange creamsicle (he always orders that hipster shit wherever go) and I was in red tongue heaven with my cherry snow cone.
The ice is a little chunky, but definitely still the bomb dot com.
I have to ask — What’s with all you sick freaks putting pickles in your snow cones? I love pickles, but that looks/​sounds totally gross.

I hate to give this business only two stars, but the caption next to the 3 stars says «A-​ok» and I definitely think they have some room to improve.
I ate there a while back and I ordered the turkey sandwich. I really liked the bread, and I love the vegetable options to add to the bread. I didn’t particularly care for the turkey though. It did not seem to be particularly good quality. The size of the regular sandwich is really good though. I have a rather large appetite, and unless they cut mine large, I feel like the full sandwich might even give me trouble. I also really like that they have deli mustard. I remember the service being somewhat on the slow side, but it is a food trailer and the day I was there I think there was only one guy in there working and he did get a bit of a pop.
Today I tried to order delivery through their «order fast online» app. on their websitre. I found it pretty straight forward and easy to use, so that was nice. However, I realized that there was a $ 12 minimum for delivery, what I did not realize, is that does not include the $ 4 delivery charge. I got my order to just over $ 12 with delivery, but then couldn’t actually check out. As I said previously, the sandwiches are pretty large. I don’t know that I would add much else. So if you are trying to get delivery for multiple people then this won’t be an issue for you, but it was definitely an annoyance to me.
I think the place definitely has potential. A change in the product they use for Turkey, some more on point customer service, and maybe a review of their delivery policy or some additions to the menu that might make it easier to hit that minimum delivery number and I could easily see this place jumping to 4 stars.

Have seen this place a couple of times, wanted to try something a bit different on my day off today. I got a sno cone as well as a sandwich. The sandwich was spot on, got the cali club with jalapenos, banana peppers, pepper-​jack cheese, on white. A couple of cool dudes were working and while the menu is a bit jumbled, once you know what you want ordering is easy. Bit pricey, but everything tasted great and was fresh. Wanted a blue raspberry sno cone, but they were out, so I got a red raspberry instead. It was ok, I am not racist, so color didn’t matter a whole lot.
I might have to try them for delivery sometime, seems like a cool concept for a food trailer. I’ll be back soon!

Hey thanks for letting me know you closed the restaurant early, AFTER I made a delivery order, AFTER I tried calling you, AFTER YOU HUNG UP ON ME, when I called to check on my order, and thanks for not calling me to tell me you wouldn’t be delivering my order. Thanks bunches. Really.

I am from the north east and have been searching for a proper «deli» sandwich, and this is the best thing I have had in Austin.
I am a traditionalist and like a proper Italian with all the trimmings, mayo, and oil and vinegar. I did this at rockaway, and it brought me back to getting a sub at a corner bodega in Brooklyn. The bread is fresh and the right consistency, the veggies are crisp, and the meats/​cheeses are what you would expect from a deli (I don’t know if it’s boars head or not but it was good enough for my taste).
I will be coming back for sure. My new go to when craving a proper sandwich.
