Dr. Laura Merritt is great, and this review does not reflect her care, patience, and efforts. However, the office staff is unbelievable. Gynecological visits are particularly sensitive to most women, and three different staff members went out of their way to be rude.
1. I completed all paperwork online. When I arrived, the front office asked me to fill it out by hand. I asked if they could double-​check that I hadn’t filled it out online. The response: «Well, I can’t make you fill it out, so whatever.»
2. Dr. Merritt informed me that I needed to have a procedure done. When I called back to schedule it, I asked if there were options other than surgery. The scheduler, Cassie, informed me, «You need to have this done, so that’s your option.»
3. I left a voicemail for Cassie again, asking to confirm that I could have the surgery slot. She did not call back to confirm. I called again the next day, and I was transferred to someone named Linda’s voicemail. I hung up, called back, and explained I was trying to reach Cassie in surgery scheduling. The person then transferred me to Kathy.
I give up. Dr. Merritt is warm and caring, and I really liked her, but the office staff are not helpful and go out of their way to be blunt and rude. Please go elsewhere if you would like your visits to be hassle-​free.

I have seen Dr. Tara Mills for years, first for routine gynecological care and more recently for Ob care; all along the way I’ve found her to be kind, caring and reassuring. She saw my husband and I though one miscarriage, one c-​section, and we’re expecting our 2^nd child any day now. She always answers all of our questions, giving her opinion and where appropriate and when asked, her advice and she is able to explain things clearly and help us weigh options. In addition to the great care I’ve received from Dr. Mills, the staff that supports her directly is great — friendly, responsive and helpful.
One thing I love about Renaissance as an Ob patient is the extended team that supports each doctor. There is always a nurse on call to answer questions should things come up after hours and because no one can work ²⁴⁄₇ forever, the doctors rotate who is on call, so if you have your baby at an unscheduled time and your doctor is not on call, one of the other doctors in the practice will take care of you. This is actually the scenario I was in when my first baby was born… my water broke in the early evening, I called the nurse line and was told to go on into the hospital and in the middle of the night, Dr. Melanie Collins actually did my c-​section, and she was wonderful. I’ve also seen Dr. Kim Loar and really appreciated her care and concern during my miscarriage; she was very supportive and sensitive with both me and my husband.
In all, I think this is such a great practice, for women, staffed primarily by women and they do a wonderful job caring for patients while helping their doctors maintain their own work-​life balance.

I began seeing Dr. Mills a few years ago for regular gynecological visits but really got to know her through my first pregnancy. I could not have had a better experience with a doctor. I saw her every other visit initially and later every week. She was always calm, extremely knowledgeable, and reassuring during my visits. She took every concern seriously and took action by requesting the appropriate procedures (such as non-​stress tests and bloodwork) and referring me to a maternal fetal doctor for glucose issues. She never rushed or pressured us in any way. I completely trusted her advice. Her nurse practitioners are also wonderful. I was also very lucky to get Dr. Mills for my delivery. She visited me several times throughout the labor process and made sure I was doing okay medically but also went the extra mile and made sure I was comfortable and happy. The actual delivery was very calm and with her guidance and no birthing classes I delivered a healthy baby boy. I highly recommend Dr. Mills to anyone thinking of having a baby.

Dr. Clarissa Guiterrez is wonderful. She took over my prenatal care, for my second pregnancy, at approximately 20 weeks, because I had chosen to leave my previous OB/​GYN. (My first doc had dismissed my concerns about my hyperemesis by simply saying «pregnancy comes with a plethora of symptoms»).
Each time I showed up at least 15 minutes prior to my appointment and was seen by the doctor on time or before my scheduled time.
I had expressed my trepidations and concerns with Dr. G from day one, as my first labor and delivery experience had been less than desirable, and she took everything into consideration. On game day, Dr. G induced me at 0800 and my son was born at 1118. The delivery was pleasant and practically pain-​free. My husband was also very pleased with Dr. G’s flawless laceration repair (haha).
The office staff is welcoming and friendly. The nurse line was convenient and answered any after-​hours questions or concerns I had.
I was admitted a few weeks before my due date for a stomach virus and the communication between the hospital and my Dr.‘s office was great. Dr. G checked in on me the first thing the morning after admission and I was released shortly after, with thorough, at home directions.
I would recommend Dr. G to anyone and everyone. She is a very smart woman. She is young, energetic and clearly has a passion for helping others. I was super sad when my husband was transferred to San Antonio, 5 weeks after my child was born.

Meh. I’ve been to 2 different doctors for different things and I don’t feel overly inclined to return. The first time was Dr. Laurette Smith. She was ok, but a bit rude and I wasn’t impressed with her bedside manner. When I needed to go again 2 years later, I did some research and decided to see Dr. Montalvo for my wellness exam and Pap. When she came in, she had warm energy and was attentive. We went through the exam and I explained that we are trying for a baby and a couple of issues like painful periods, etc. She didn’t seem to be overly concerned, and that felt ok. When I explained my husband has a certain urological condition, she googled it right there. Odd, but ok, not a urologist. Anyway, we finished the exam, I got a referral and left. Several weeks later I get a bill from them saying they double coded because I required special issues. When I called billing, I told them it wasn’t true. I’d made an appointment for wellness, and told her about those things. They told me she’d billed it separately because that isn’t included in a wellness exam. I felt nickled and dimed. My other clinicians always ask about my health concerns during wellness exams to help understand. I paid it, but won’t be returning.

After posting this and paying for the separate bill, the office refunded my money for the extra charge.

Dr. Mills is one of the best Doctors I have had! She guided me through my very complicated, high risk pregnancies and delivered both of my babies. She is extremely knowledgable and able to effectively communicate information so you can make informed decisions. I would highly recommend her!

Dr. Mills has delivered both of my babies and both deliveries were great! She is professional, caring and extremely thorough. Any concerns I had during my prenatal visits were addressed and I never felt like I was being rushed through my appointment. Cheri, her NP, is also very knowledgeable and so sweet. I would recommend Dr. Mills and RWG to anyone!

First class, five stars! My wife’s Dr., Dr. Mills is the best. We’re a high risk family… Lots of miscarriages along the way. Dr. Mills has been a wonderful and encouraging Dr for many years.
We’ve had interactions with most of the medical staff over the years. Dr. Darby is such a kind and wonderful man, there for all our sonograms. With our second daughter, she had not turned down when she should have and Darby successfully helped her turn shortly before the due date. When it came time to deliver, we had an emergency C-​Section and Dr. Garza walked us through our options and delivered our little girl. In such a challenging day, he brought such peace. In a few months, we’ll deliver our 3^rd child and we couldn’t be happier about the medical team surrounding our growing family.
We learned about RWG from some people at our church. Dozens of our friends have had children through RWG and all have had nothing but stellar experiences.

Dr. Catherine Browne is fantastic, as are her nurses, but the way this practice is being run is a disaster. Today I was waiting in the room, undressed, expecting Dr. Browne to appear at any moment when the nurse knocked and entered again to tell me she’d been called off to a delivery at the hospital. My only option was to wait for her to return. Note that only ONE doctor is running the practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so guess what happens when there’s a baby to be delivered? Worse yet, there is absolutely no proactive management of appointments, such that when there is an issue, patients are notified in advance. At my previous appointment, I walked in to a waiting room full of people, and the receptionist explained that Dr. Browne had again been at the hospital. I told her I needed to be out of there in an hour and somehow managed to achieve that timing. Today I got dressed and walked out, vowing never to come back and requesting a referral to a gynecologist.
One of the reasons I went to Dr. Boothe was because of the positive reviews here on Unilocal,so I just want to make it clear, if you’re a stay at home mom with time to burn, this is one place you can while it away. But if you plan on doctors honoring appointment times because you’re taking time out of your schedule, time someone else is paying for, this is not the place for you.

My doctor retired and he referred me to Dr. Sherry Neyman or Dr. L. Smith. I chose to see Neyman. The office staff was friendly enough, however I arrived early as I was advised to do since I was a new patient. I was given a stack of paperwork to complete, which I understand. I was called back to before I had a chance to complete the paperwork.
Once Dr. Neyman came into the room, there was an uneasy feeling I got from her. I’m not sure if she’s just not a people person, but I couldn’t help to note that she wouldn’t look at me when she spoke. I may be spoiled by my former doctor who would come into the room and put everything down and stop and listen and ask me questions, I hate that he retired. She brought a laptop in and as I spoke she searched her computer, for what I’m not really sure, but there was no actively listening. At the end of the appointment she left the room and I got dressed I cracked to door just to let them know it was okay to come in. Neyman came to the door and we spoke while she stayed at the door. I asked her questions and she told me to come to the hall where it would all make sense. I walked into the hall and stood at a counter, where of course she’s on her laptop. There were people walking around me; there was no privacy to discuss my medical history and the questions I had.
I felt rushed to the point where I was given a bag of sample pills, five forms of paper, three of which were for medical procedures (lab work). I asked her what my next step was and as she continued to work on her laptop she turns to me gives my a hug and tells me «go around that corner to the exit and get out of here.» It was so odd and insincere.
I go to the doctor once a year and I consider myself to be healthy, active individual so when I have questions I would like for the doctor to listen and not try and rush me. I couldn’t have been on that office longer than 20 minutes including the exam. All in all I don’t think I’ll be back.
I did notice that Dr Laurette Smith whom Dr. Neyman shares an office with is no longer practicing as an OB, but has focused on weight management.

Brittany was fantastic. I enjoy this group of doctors. They are always beyond professional but also make you feel comfortable as well. I highly recommend them.

The billing office/​supervisors finally admitted they made a mistake and that I shouldn’t have ever been prevented from making an appointment due to me making timely payments. They removed the flag and allowed me to schedule after months of fighting with them.
I went to their Cedar Park location and was very impressed. As soon as I walked in I felt very comfortable. The lady at the front office was very sweet and attentive and I got called back right away. There was a little bit of a wait once I was in the room but I was okay with that because Dr. Ginger Truitt was VERY attentive and didn’t make me feel rushed at all when it came time to my appointment. She was professional and answered all of my questions thoroughly and genuinely cared about our situation.
I am VERY thankful that the above error was fixed and that we have finally found an amazing doctor that I feel comfortable going to whenever I do get pregnant.

Worst health service treatment ever. Not a joke.
My wife and I went to Doctor Melanie Collins OBGYN who was recommended by an acquaintance. We arrived for our first visit and the financial lady treated us horrendously. I’m not a particularly sensitive person, but for someone that is asking you to pay them thousands of dollars, we’ve never been treated like this before.
We had a form shoved in our faces upon arrival and a demand to pay $ 2500 to $ 3,500 as an «OB» fee. This was new to me (we already have a child and have gone through the process) so I asked questions about this like «what does this fee include?» and «what does this fee not include?». It was just terrible from there. A refusal to give answers, yelling at me because I was on the wrong side of the door, yelling at my wife because she was on the wrong side of the office door after going to the bathroom. Just crazy town. Just a strange sense of overall entitlement.
If anyone is listening, this occurred on May 12 at 3:30p. It was the Hispanic woman in the back of the front office. (My wife is hispanic so this is provided for descriotive not racial ourposes). I hate to single people out like this, but it was ridiculous. My wife and I sat down again in the office waiting room and she said «there is no way we are coming here for multiple OBGYN visits.» I agreed. She was almost in tears.
We let one of the other office attendants know that we would not be continuing with our new patient appointment.
I unless you have no other OBGYN options or are a masochist, I’d stay clear.

After moving here 15 weeks pregnant from Michigan, it was difficult to find an ob-​gyn that I liked as well as the one I saw back home.
I finally found Dr. Ginger Truitt, and I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with her. She listened to my concerns throughout my pregnancy, even whisking me in to get a quick ultrasound just to reassure me. She was willing to work with me to create the birth I envisioned, and in the end, it was a fantastic experience.
NURSING STAFF
The nursing staff is pretty good — not the best I’ve encountered, but not bad. They get you in and out, take your vitals, without a lot of extra chit-​chat.
ULTRASOUND
A really awesome part of the practice! I love having the ultrasounds a few rooms down from the exam rooms. The ultrasound technicians are very patient and helpful (like when you’re on the verge of passing out because there’s too much pressure lying on your back!) Dr. Darby always comes by at the end to review your sonogram with you and answer any questions, and I really like his calm, reassuring personality. Very sweet man.
SCHEDULING/​COMMUNICATION
Great — no complaints with scheduling. I rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes past my appointed time, and on the rare occasion that my doctor wasn’t available, they quickly offered other arrangements (i.e. seeing a nurse practitioner). Also, I love that you can go online to a patient portal and ask questions. Nurses get back to you quickly, and I’ve even gotten prescriptions refilled this way.
BILLING/​INSURANCE
I did find the insurance billing with RWG a bit nerve-​wracking. Unfortunately, it seems like a common practice to «pre-​bill» your insurance for maternity services, meaning you are paying toward your deductible throughout your pregnancy leading up to delivery. RWG didn’t report to my insurance company that I had been paying on my deductible, so then I had to pay another $ 1,500 to my insurance company, and RWG refunded me what I had paid to them. Confused? So was I! Bottom line: everything was resolved OK, but it was sure a backwards way of doing it (in my opinion).
DELIVERY AT ST. DAVID’S NORTH
Can’t say enough great things! I had a C-​section with Dr. Truitt and a team of wonderful nurses and anesthesiologists at the helm. Loved the pro-​breastfeeding nursing staff, the private rooms. The food wasn’t too shabby either! :) And hey — I have an amazing, healthy little addition to our family. Life is sweet.

I have been a patient at RWG since I got pregnant in 2008. I was referred by a friend and she was right. My original doctor (wonderful!!) moved to Dallas, so I’ve seen Dr. Montalvo for the past few years for my annual checkups. She and her staff are friendly, compassionate and professional. Dr. M always takes the time to listen to any questions or concerns, and addresses them as appropriate. Tests and procedures are done only as needed, and explained thoroughly.
I also have to add — the mammogram tech down the hall is also fantastic. If you’ve been through this ladies you know it’s not fun, but she makes it as quick and painless as possible.
The one and only time I’ve had an issue here was at my annual last year. I was waiting for my mammogram, and there was an emergency at the hospital involving the doctor in that office. It caused chaos with the receptionist and nurses trying to reschedule incoming patients and I got lost in the shuffle. After a very long wait (and watching another woman come in after me and get called back), I checked with the receptionist who was very curt and said I would be called next. After finally getting done I went back to Dr. M’s office and talked to the staff — who had been trying to figure out what took me so long. Not only did Dr. M’s office staff and Dr. M apologize, but the head office manager for RWG came by to talk to me about what happened, and apologized for the delays and mixup. It was all handled VERY well.

Worst ob/​gyn!!!
Worst service and worst experience here.
My doctor was always busy and often confused other patient’s chart with mine. After blood test, I never got call back before I begged one.
During my delivery, the worst thing happened. First, all the nurses were so unskilled and bad in service. They poked my hand 5times in middle of labor. Second, the doctor broke my water since she thought my baby will come out in 4−5hours, however my baby came out after 15hours and I was infected because of early breaking of water.
Third, after breaking my water around 2−3pm, suddenly she says goodbye to me at 6pm and goes home. Fourth, from that point I never got to meet any doctor until 10min before my delivery. That was for almost 12hours!!! No doctor was introduced or dropped by explaining what was happening. Fifth, around 10min before the baby came out a man totally unknown comes to my room and says that he is the doctor and he will deliver my baby. Insane. Why did I choose female doctor?! The doctor came into the room exactly 2min before my baby came out. So, I spent the 12hours alone in horror and pain without any guidance. Just one nurse who seemed lacking experience and skill. I don’t know how this can happen! Never choose this group!!!

A gyno appointment I don’t hate going to.
The doctors at RWG are friendly and efficient and after 3 years with them I have not had a negative experience to date. They are timely in getting you in and out of your appointment and the doctors and NP’s are kind and knowledgeable, trying their best to make you feel as comfortable as you can at the OB/​GYN. I really like Dr. Melanie Collins and another named Dr. Ginger ??? Sheri Wilcox is a great NP, I prefer to see her almost exclusively because she’s straightforward and warm. Always.
Convenient location, friendly staff and they do their best to make it quick and painless.

1^st thing… yall can learn something from Wendy McGintry… she was amazing, made me feel comfortable, welcome and important!!!

I came here for the first time when I got pregnant with my 3^rd child just so I wouldn’t have to deliver at Seton this time due to bad experiences. One should’ve been enough… I went with Dr. Gutierrez .
She is new, I wish I would’ve changed to someone else before it was too late. (In the end she was a very sweet doctor, I didn’t feel she was genuine but she also ended up not being in the delivery room which I was happy about.) At first she seemed very nice, buy then getting towards the middle of my pregnancy I felt like she seemed less genuine and like I was just present. When I asked questions about normal things that I’d never had in prior pregnancies… She seemed put out, like I was making a big deal about nothing. Maybe I was, but it still is her job to reassure me of those things anyways.
Omg the front desk girl was sooooooooooo rude!!! I was literally about to grab her by the hair and smack some sense into talking to a pregnant woman the way she did… you just don’t do that. I was afraid of going in everytime and having the cops called for doing something to this chick… anyways. Train your front desk staff. I’ve even emailed y’all directly and nothing had changed with that girls attitude. Black curly hair, glasses, not so pretty… can’t miss her.
The nurse: on the phone was Michelle I believe and she always sounded like she didn’t have time for my issues or questions. Also rude. The last time I called about my birth control after having my baby because I was having issues on it but the nurse line they have never called me back.
Wait times are horrible… one time I went in for the last sonogram and my 14 year old daughter traveled all the way from AZ to visit and see this sonogram and they would not allow her in because there were too many people, even though one was a child of 6yrs and they wouldn’t let us switch out kids to see their little sister. Such bs!!!
It was super far for me to travel, but that was OK with me living south at first… I thought I’d have a better experience!
I feel that if you can find a good Dr here its worth your while, but definitely go with your gut if you’re not feeling it with the Dr.

Find a Dr. To deliver there!

Haven’t had any OB experiences here, but two regular gyno appointments. Dr Loars bedside manner is great, made me feel comfortable. Exiting their office after an appointment is like a maze and so is the parking lot. I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes.

My gynecologist, Dr. Smith, and her NP are always attentive and courteous, but the front desk staff are not. Every time I’ve had an appointment, I’ve had to wait at least 30 minutes. Last time, I went during my lunch break and when I asked the receptionist how much longer I’d have to wait, she looked and said, «it’s only been 25 minutes,» as if I should expect to wait at least that, if not longer, to see a doctor. Why even make an appointment then? I’ve seen women show up later than me that get seen first. I like to be punctual, but maybe I should start coming in 30 minutes late so I don’t have to wait.
Their billing department is also ineffective. I made an appointment for mirena insertion and got a call from billing saying my patient responsibility was $ 800+. I called my insurance and they assured me anything under family planning was 100% covered, but when I called back to tell their billing department, the lady would not believe me, even though she had not even called them and checked online, incorrectly! When I got to my appointment, they were trying to get me to pay at the front desk. Luckily, I called my insurance and had them speak to her.
I find their front desk very unprofessional and not helpful, but my doctor and the nurses are great.
