Olga was great about giving us the small wedding cake of our dreams! Super easy to work with and very responsive — I sent her photos of what I wanted, she gave me the price ranges, and when I went to pick it up, it was exactly like the picture and DELICIOUS!

Called yesterday well before closing. Indicated had no access to website due to travels. Service rep took the order. One attempt made to LHS to deliver left off with they would call back to set up priority delivery today. 1230 no call no delivery. Contacted store, woman with accent claiming to be the owner lacked any professionalism or acknowledgement of accountability in failing to deliver what was ordered. Will never order from this location again. These places are a dime a dozen and competition in Austin is fierce by others who deliver splendidly. Awaiting my credit on my card still. Bank notified! Tiffs treats it is !!! they deliver and appreciate their customers! Will ensure to share my experience on the UT Texas parent site and UT Facebook.

This is a really cool store in my opinion. I feel like it’s where people would come in to have a little tea time that would only happen in the fairy tales.
Hey CupCake, Imma let you finish, but polkadots has one of the best cupcakes of all time.
When it comes to dessert, I’m picky. It cannot have overloaded the frosting. The flavors cannot taste artificial flavoring. Frosting cannot be too sweet. The consistency of the frosting has to be just right. The ratio of frosting and the cake has to be at the perfect golden ratio, which is a+b/a, so each part of the cupcake is not overpowering the other.
There’s only one problem. I’m not going back enough. It’s at west campus basically, so the parking usually sucks.

I like their cupcakes & cookies a lot but their customer service sucks. I have been here at least 20 times & every time I go (most recently today) they act put out when I walk in the door. No smile, no greeting, nothing friendly about it. I’ve been served by many people there, including Olga and while some are a tad less grumpy than others they are all always seemingly pissed off that you showed up.
Today I showed up with my friends kids for their birthday and the girl behind the counter barely spoke, didn’t look at us and got visibly pissed off when I added another cupcake to our order before leaving. I worked for a teacher and I used to bring our students here at least three times a year but got tired of the awful glances and attitudes when we showed up.
I don’t know, someone missed the mark if they think good cupcakes override customer service, I’m sad to say after many years of supporting this place today was my last visit.

No, no, no! Like many other reviewers have stated: the cupcakes are dry and O-​K at best AND the service is abysmal. Please, please, please spend your money elsewhere. When will the owners actually starting caring enough to do something about these issues?
I gave this establishment more than enough times to prove me wrong. After my fourth visit, enough is enough. The last 3 times I have ordered from here, it has been via phone. Each time, the person on the other end of the line seemed very confused and dumbfounded as to how to take a cupcake order over the phone. Also, they don’t open until 12pm (really?!) but a few of the times I’ve shown up to pick up my order, it wasn’t even ready… and they certainly don’t have their doors unlocked by 12pm! I even saw the owner strolling up well after 12pm to unlock the door once! Just poor service all the way around but it starts at the top, right?
I will NEVER go back to this place even it is convenient. It’s not worth my money especially when there are so MANY OTHER better bakeries in Austin. Polkadots probably doesn’t care though as I’ve noticed they have not replied to any Unilocal reviews thus far… Good job.

Sent photo of cake via email. When we opened it up the name was supposed to have been blocked letters on the cake NOT scripted. The bottom of the cake was red not pink. The «arms» we’re suppose to come out of a tube and be rope. I wish I could post the photo of the expected cake and the cake we received. When contacted Polkadots I was told it was very unclear from the photo to see if the bottom was textured. Oh well

I’m not a big dessert person, but I can not resist Polkadots cupcakes! All her cakes are moist and tasty. Definitely recommend her for weddings!

Is Polkadots the new Franklin bbq?! Just went by on a Tuesday afternoon for an after work treat, and they were sold out of cupcakes. At least put a sign on your door so I don’t have to walk in and smell all those delicious treats. They were certainly whipping up something delicious behind their curtain. They couldn’t have spared just one???
Besides that, I have used them for numerous birthday parties and baby showers and everything is always delicious. People drool over these cupcakes that I bring.
Damn, wish I could have had one now.

After trying out a few other wedding cake vendors, we were feeling pretty deflated. Then my wife came across Polkadots, so we went in for a tasting. We were blown away immediately. Everything is served as a cupcake at the tasting, so we were a little worried about the final piece. We were also worried that at such reasonable pricing, the final delivery could never be as good as what we were promised. We truly had nothing to worry about.
The cakes were absolutely beautiful. We were told by another vendor that swiss dots weren’t possible with buttercream, but Polkadots knocked it out of the park. The cakes tasted better than any other wedding cake I’ve ever had (we had three cakes because we couldn’t decide at the tasting). The delivery was flawless (we never even saw them come in… just suddenly saw that we had three beautiful cakes on our cake table). The best part: no freezing leftovers, because we get to have fresh cupcakes on our one-​year anniversary!
Side note: We took some of the leftovers to work today, and they were devoured! We got a ton of compliments, even two days after the ceremony.

The strawberry & cream cupcake may just be the best cupcake I have EVER tasted! The cupcakes were perfectly moist, and the amount of strawberry in the cupcake was incredible. I must come back the next time I come to Austin!

I used them for my wedding and was blown away with the amazing quality and competitive pricing. Not only were they amazing to work with they were beyond professional on our wedding day.
I ordered a surprise grooms cake for our 1 year and my husbands response was even better than the year before and I didn’t think that was possible.
Highly recommend for any event, will be using them for all cakes I need! Did I mention I also am this happy throwing in the challenge that it all had to be gluten free?

This isn’t the BEST cupcake vendor in Austin, but for how close it is to campus and how delicious the cupcakes are, it is pretty solid. I love their cycle of rotating flavors as well as their daily flavors, and I’ve had a majority of them, actually. Their cupcakes are moist and perfectly sweet, although they sort of «look» more homemade, as in the icing and presentation can look a bit sloppy sometimes. It’s not much of a downside, I know, but I’d love if the cupcakes were more presentable whenever I give them as a gift or something.
I really like their icing though — most of the icing I have tried is buttery, light, and fluffy, not thick and rich and overwhelming like the icing of some other cupcakes places.
Favorites are probably the classic vanilla vanilla, the chocolate peanut butter, tres leches, and the strawberry shortcake. Yum.

I placed an order for 2 dozen cookies for my friends lingerie shower. I’ve been following this place on Instagram for quite some time and I think her work looks amazing… You never know how it’s going to taste though. I picked up the cookies and they looked perfect! All the girls loved them and they tasted GREAT. I was so pleased.
Also, I grabbed two cupcakes because they looked so delicious just hanging out in my face at the counter while I was paying for the cookies. The strawberries and cream was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Get one. Or seven.

I found this little place tucked away by the UT campus. I went in on a whim to grab a cupcake for my birthday. Not only was the employee there super nice and helpful, when I said I would get two since «why not it’s my birthday» she let me pick what I wanted and gave them to me ON THE HOUSE.
Now I’m not really one to ask for favors or handouts, but her gift A) totally made my day and B) showed me that this store really treats it’s customers like people instead of money trees.
Not to mention the fact that the cupcakes were out of this world!!! Flavor of the month: Berry filled cupcake with orange frosting (nom) and a «black bottom» chocolate (super nom). I will absolutely be going back.

My husband and I have had two birthday cakes and our reception cake made by polkadots and we are sure they make the best cakes in Austin!
Cake 1: Birthday, penguin shape with chocolate and raspberry. OMG.
Cake 2: Wedding Cake, three tiers. Black bottom one layer (this flavor is the jackpot!) and lemon for the other (our third tier was fake). The design was vintage with beautiful pleating.
Cake 3: Birthday, lemon cake. Really the best lemon anything I have ever eaten. So, so, so wonderful!
We stopped in for a cupcake and with the price we prefer others in the ATX neighborhood. I feel like a traitor, but hey, they are amazing at cakes!
Olga’s attention to detail is to be envied by any dessert connoisseur and her designs are spectacular. Each cake we’ve had has been accompanied by compliments galore. We will continue to see her for all of our special cake needs.

Cute little bakery! The macaron was nice! Outdoor seating and close proximity to a burrito place:) Overall, nice little place!

I visited Polkadots on my first trip to Austin. It is the cutest little shop with the most darling décor so I was excited to try their cupcakes. They had a lot of different flavors to choose from. We got the lemon blueberry, strawberry shortcake and black bottom cupcakes. It was rather late in the day so that could have been the reason but the cupcakes didn’t taste all that fresh and the cake was a little dry. It could be because of the case they store them in? Also, for the price they were I didn’t think the size matched. They were decorated simply and beautifully I just wish the taste would’ve matched the presentation!

These cupcakes re definitely $$$, but then again the mere thought of paying that much for a cupcake makes my head go «What?» But thankfully my coworkers like buying from here in droves for meetings or celebrations so I get to eat them for free. And in that case this place is awesome.
I’ve tried a variety of cupcakes here but I think my favorites are the strawberry shortcake, strawberries and crème, red velvet and chocolate chip cookie. Always has a moist crumb and frosting that is finger licking good (and I normally hate frosting!). I don’t know why the strawberries and cream is exceptional but the blend of silky smooth frosting with fruity tones is a match in cupcake heaven.

Best cupcake place EVER!!! (And I’ve been to a lot…) I need to try the cakes and cookies. I seriously love this place so much. I want them to make my wedding cake and ship it to wherever my wedding is.
They have awesome flavors. The cake isn’t dry or too moist. The icing isn’t too sweet. Good cake to icing ratio. Everything is just absolutely splendid!!!

I’m a cupcake fiend. I love them… but am very picky.
We were at Toy Joy and I happened to notice the stellar reviews for Polkadots and was so excited! Could something as amazing as Delish be this close to home?! Is it possible?!
The twins and I venture in and get some cupcakes, napkins, and head back outside to enjoy what we truly hoped would be wonderful, moist, creamy frosted, melt in your mouth deliciousness that is only granted to the chosen few who can truly make a good cupcake.
We were left brokenhearted.
The cake was dry, the frosting less than memorable and we were so disheartened.
I usually would give a place two tries before writing that the food was bad, but they had three chances with our three cupcakes, each being a total fail.
We won’t be back.
