We had a fantastic experience with Sandhya. We adopted our lab-​mix puppy, Edgar, when he was around 8 weeks old. Neither of us had owned a dog as an adult, and knew that we’d need some help with obedience training — we have two small children, and needed a well-​disciplined dog that would interact well with them. We took her puppy class and it was awesome. Our dog learned SO much. He’s still a puppy so he still has some work to do, but he follows all the basic commands really well, and we can take him anywhere. One thing that was really helpful is the concept of dog timeout — Edgar gets one «no», and if he does the same thing again he goes to time out for five minutes. It has helped his behavior a ton, and is something I never would have thought of on my own.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say that Sandhya is great, and her classes are well worth the time and money.

There really aren’t enough words to describe the amount of dedication that she has for her work and the care for her clients! So sweet and nice, really made sure you were getting everything you want out of the training and answered any questions I had, even though it was a group class we still got quiet a bit of one on one by showing us what we are and aren’t doing right. Our 4month old golden doodle is super smart but she really showed us his potential and the things we could teach and keep teaching him more. She was so great, will keep in contact with her as well. I highly recommend, by far the best!!! So impressed and pleased. Thank you Sandhya

Took my puppy to basic obedience. Had a great experience and follow up. Sandhya always answers my emails very quickly and helps out with my silly questions and needs. Glad to have her in my network and Cylon loves her too!

I think Sandhya and her techniques are fantastic. She helped find the perfect dog for me. After finding my now best pal Layla, Sandhya taught Layla basic obedience in one session. I would highly recommend Pawsitive and the methods she uses. It is only positive reinforcement and if you do your homework at home, your dog will be a model pet.

I am so happy I found Sandhya she was truly a life saver. I moved to Texas less than a year ago on my own and have two German Shepherds and work 12 hour shifts. So I definitely needed someone to come help me out with them while I was at work. My dogs absolutely adored her on our first consultation and it was great to meet someone who loves dogs and adored my dogs as if they were her own. She went above and beyond to help me and work with my dogs. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to dog behaviors and training and I am so thankful I found her!

My husband and I are first time dog owners and we knew that we would need to be trained to prevent forming bad habits with our new dog. We looked for a dog trainer and both agreed to give Pawsitive a call.
Sandhya is very responsive and got back to us in a prompt manner. We are signed up for the next dog obedience class that starts in a few weeks but in the meantime, we signed up a for a 1×1 lesson to make sure our basic doggie questions were answered and so that we would know how to discipline and reward our dog while we waited for the class to begin.
In one hour Sandhya managed to teach myself and my husband some new tricks, but our dog was also sitting on command and learning to ‘Leave it’. Those two commands are life-​saving! We are so impressed with how much Sandhya loves all animals and we are excited to see what else we can both learn in her obedience classes.

You may want to tell EVERYONE at the dog park about how their dogs shouldn’t be playing with other dogs. We’re all such terrible dog owners, you know.

Our crazy Cairn terrier puppy Luna just graduated from Sandhya’s basic obedience class and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The consistency and personal attention Sandhya provides made a HUGE difference for Luna. Honestly, every single class I was totally shocked by how quickly Luna picked up new tricks and basic commands. Things I had worked on with her before (like lay down) suddenly clicked in a hour with Sandhya! She really focuses on training people to guide their pooches in training. I have worked with too many trainers in the past who can’t have a good time and embrace the doggy-​ness of our furry friends. I really appreciate that Sandhya would often laugh at us and Luna’s silliness.
The most important thing is that Sandhya keeps her classes small (there were only 2 other dogs in our 5 week class). Plus Sandhya is a kind person and gives so much personalized attention that really maximizes your time with her. You can tell she loves what she does and loves animals. And she’s really down to earth and someone you’d wanna hang out with anyway! 4 paws up + 5 stars for Pawsitive!

I wanted to try an alternative to another great sitter I met here on Unilocal.I read the reviews and contacted Sandhya. Sandhya came over and met the dogs and we talked about my needs and the dogs needs. I gave her the questionnaire she Emailed me after my initial contact. It was about a month later I needed her service and she told me that in order to meet all the visits she would need to have Allie come over as well. Both Allie and Sandhya came over for another meet and greet. I was comfortable with having either of them in my place so I gave it a try. I received timely text updates and cute pictures once in a while. When I came home the dogs looked great, they had been eating and resting so I knew they were not stressed out. Recently Sandhya was able to do a short notice drop in for me which really helped out. Thank you Sandhya and Allie for taking care of my kids.

My puppy, Andy, and I recently trained with Sandhya for the puppy classes. The first thing that I noticed off the bat was how organized she was. She had an agenda that laid out everything that we would cover in the classes. In addition, she also asked us what we thought about the curriculum, if there was anything that we wanted to add or take away, and if it was a good fit for us and our puppies. Through this interaction, I could tell that Sandhya was very perceptive to our needs, and that she was flexible, adaptable, and truly cared about her clients.
During class, we did some things that I had never seen with other dog training classes before. We were in a small class with five dogs in total. One of the things that we did that I thought was really neat was that each owner would get a chance to work with other dogs. For example, we would learn the «sit» hand signal that each owner had chosen for his/​her puppy, and the dog would still respond to the signal, even if it did not come from his/​her owner. This was particularly useful for me because I have two roommates and I wanted my dog to respond to all of us. Sandhya also demonstrated her commands and tricks with every dog in order to show that every dog, regardless of breed, age, type, etc., can do it.
The class culminated with a puppy party where our puppies got to socialize, play, and eat some cake. Overall, my experience with Sandhya was exceptional. She taught us how to train our puppies in a positive way, and even understand our interactions through our dogs’ lenses. I highly recommend!

Sandhya & Allie took great care of our babies while we were away. They are very professional, reasonably priced & gave us frequent updates/​pics which gave us peace of mind. Will def. keep using them!

Sandyha was great with my kitty peakush. We went on a month long vacation and she came over every other day to sit with him and feed him and play with him. She sent text pics of him every time.
She is very trustworthy and would definately use her again if i needed a cat sitter!

Sandhya is a hands on dog sitter who takes her time with each animal. While interviewing her in preparation for a long vacation, Sandhya took her time to get to know each of our 3 dogs idiosyncrasies and trust me, each of them has a very quirky, finicky personality.
When I returned from Alaska, they were happy, healthy, well fed and didn’t show any signs of stress. I haven’t been so lucky with past sitters!
I will continue to employ Sandhya for pet sitting services and recommend you do as well!

Sandhya is a lifesaver… literally! We have three young kids so our house is always busy & loud! We brought home our two rescue dogs a little over a year ago to add to the kayos. Harley (Border Collie/​Terrier mix) was all bark all the time. Trip (German Shepherd/​Blue Heeler mix) was a little bark followed by some bite! We thought we could «handle» their behavior problems but several close calls with young visitors being bit at & a few chewed up sofas & we knew we were in over our heads!
We called on Sandhya with the hope that she could help us save Trip before he really hurt someone & was taken away from our family. She came one day & in ONE hour had Trip following her commands. She trained US in ways that would help both dogs burn off energy both mentally & physically. She followed up with us & was always happy to give advice or answer our questions.
We turned to Sandhya once again last month when we went on vacation for the first time since getting Trip & Harley. I was so nervous about leaving them & didn’t know which option to choose. I worried about our home being destroyed & the possibility of someone being bitten if we were to go with having them at home. Boarding was costly & even more expensive if you wanted your pet to actually get love & attention! Sandhya assured us that she would take great care of our pups & boy did she come through! She came to our home three times a day spending at least an hour if not longer each time playing, loving & just hanging out with our dogs. They were not kennel trained either before we left & in just a few days, Sandhya had both dogs trained to go right in their kennels where they would be safe & secure in her absence. She sent text messages & pictures everyday to keep us updated on how happy they were. Even our neighbor commented on how awesome she was! His comments were,“I don’t know where you found your trainer but whoever she is, she was worth your money & then some!”. He confirmed for us that she was there really giving the dogs her time & love!
I will NEVER have to look elsewhere for training & care of our cherished doggy family members! If you’re looking for a professional Dog Trainer &/​or someone who genuinely cares for animals & loves what she does… look no further! Sandhya is a gem & our entire family thanks her:-)!

Our lab retriever is 10 years old and still has the energy of a puppy, especially when the doorbell rings. She barks incessantly, will not stop, and then jumps on the visitor. She even broke my finger once when I tried to get in her way.

She has taught us the way of the clicker and mentally stimulating our dogs with fun brain games and kong treats. Definitely changed the way I think about our dogs and what they need in life.
We still work with our lab on the door issues (10 years of bad greeting behavior is a hard habit to break), but the situation is significantly improved, barking reduced, jumping less, and when I follow Sandhya’s directions, our dog is perfect. (The hardest part is changing MY behavior!)
Our dog has been more obedient in other respects as well. I also think she’s a happier dog. She has jobs now ;-)

When we fostered our little rescue Shih Tzu, our immediate plans were to give her the opportunity to adjust to our home and then adopt her. Unfortunately, she had some behavioral issues that we were having a difficult time dealing with. A business associate highly recommended that I contact Sandhya since she had been using Sandhya to train her new puppy and was extremely pleased.
Sandhya came over and spent an hour or so discussing little Kellie’s issues and what steps we needed to take to work on correcting the issues. After she left, within a few hours we received an email from Sandhya summarizing our meeting and what steps she was going to take as well as the things my husband and I needed to do to follow through with the plan. She set up a schedule for private lessons and implemented them immediately. Sandhya is extremely knowledgeable about dog training. We had a daily appointment with her and she was extremely prompt each day. When I called her with questions, she was always eager to answer them and help in any way she could. She is reliable, responsible and a delight to work with. I definitely recommend her.
