Welcome to Pampered Pets, a family owned and operated dog grooming and retail shop located in the heart of Austin, Texas. We’ve never met a stranger here at Pampered Pets! With nearly three decades of experience, it’s clear that we love our doggy clients and make sure that their time in our care is always a positive experience.

At Pampered Pets, we love welcoming new pets into our family! No matter what size or breed of dog, our professional and talented groomers are trained to provide the best in styling and pampering– so you can trust your dog to the care of the team here. We also take pride in having the expertise necessary to work with geriatric and special needs dogs, or any pet who might need a little extra TLC. Additionally, our newly remodeled retail space carries all of the products and accessories you need for your furry friend including dog food, treats, toys, beds, carriers, collars, leashes and much more!

History

Established in 1987.

The entire staff at Pampered Pets wants to thank the dedicated clientele who have been with us through the years. We started grooming in Austin in February 1987, and are proud to be celebrating our 28th anniversary this year! We love what we do and hope that comes through in every aspect of our business. Debbie Perkins is the owner of Pampered Pets. She grew up caring for animals and has nearly 20 years of experience grooming dogs. She and her husband Kenneth have over 60 years of combined experience in the industry. She is an animal lover at heart, so you know that whenever you drop off your pets, they are always in good, loving hands. Nail clipping and customer service review only! My fur children aren’t high maintenance hair kids, but one of them is a little turd Deluxe when it come to clipping her nails. So, I thought I’d bite the bullet and just pay for some other poor soul to do it. Called this place up and they said they could take the dog at noon and it took just a short minute. While I was there I visited with the owners, who were just lovely. I believe they said they had been there around 30 years. They have a cute store with a small selection of food, toys, leashes, etc. My pup was treated like a queen and came out with short and filed down nails. SO NICE and pain free for me… and her. PROS all the way! I will be going back. $ 15 well spent.

They managed to somehow injure both of our dogs with bloody cuts — a feat no dog groomer has ever done to either of our dogs in the four years we’ve had them. The woman who checked me out assured me over and over that it was «nothing to worry about,» and «the cuts would heal on their own.» Why did I listen to such stupidity? A few days later one of the dogs had a bad infection, two hundred dollars in vet costs, and considerable hassle and pain for our sweet dog. Never again!

I have a massive dog who is a dirt and leaf magnet. Pampered Pets always leaves him looking great. Everyone is so nice and friendly and act like it is a treat to have my dog come in. (I’m sure they do that for everyone!) Love these folks and the great service they provide.

I have taken my Kenya B to Kenneth and Debbie at Pampered Pets for years. Kenya B is a 13 year old shepard/​lab mix, had major surgery in October 2013, and is very shy. PP makes her feel comfortable, are very gentle with her and she always comes home feeling better and looking just beautiful. What more could you want?

Great grooming I have a 15 yo golden and a 1 yr old lab mix. They have both dogs in and out looking wonderful within 3 hours. They take extra time to brush my Golden’s hair though there is an upcharge for extra brushing. Really nice folks and my dogs love it. Prices for the job very reasomsble.

I’m really torn on this one. We are moving to Austin so I was happy to find Pampered Pets as it is close to where we will be living. It is in a nice part of town, and the owners have been grooming dogs for 30 years. It is a husband and wife who own the business.
I’ll be honest about my first impression when stepping into the establishment: pretty unimpressive, kind of dingy looking. But I was really happy with the conversation I had had the day before with one of the owners so I wanted to keep my opinion in check. I ended up speaking to both of the owners before leaving my dog with them. I feel that I was given a very thorough and up front explanation on the different cutting techniques for dogs: razor vs scissors. Now I had been quoted a max of $ 55 on the phone by the wife. She mentioned that to her husband who agreed that the job could be done for that price. He would be cutting my dog’s hair with scissors. I was reassured by both of them several times that he was really good at scissor cutting poms. I was impressed by the attention to detail that was shown during our conversation.
As I was headed out the door I stopped and specifically asked the husband to please be sure to leave the hair around my dog’s face fuller/​longer so he maintains the Pom look. I was again reassured and told that I would be happy with the results.
About five hours later my dog comes out with shorter hair (had wanted that) but without the fuller hair around his face. Okay, disappointing. Then I get to the register and am given a price of $ 67.00. I can’t believe that taxes would be $ 12 for a dog grooming. (I was not told that the increase was for taxes, btw.)
Over the past couple of days I’ve slowly adjusted to the shorter hair — this always happens. But the apparent complete disregard to my specific request to leave the hair around his face bothers me and my husband. Not only that, but his underbelly looks so uneven. I’m pretty disappointed. This haircut is not with $ 67. Not at all.
Two stars? For the wonderful customer service I received.

Took my small and generally anxious dog, Oscar, to Pampered Pets. They are his new favorite place. Reasonably priced (not boutique expensive, at least), incredibly nice people, clearly professional, and the pup looked great. Also, I’m a big fan of putting money into the pockets of local small business owners vs PetsMart — so there ya go.

Wonderful staff. The owners are very friendly. We take our border collie to them frequently and are never disappointed. They are wonderful with all breeds and dog personalities. (Ours is a little coo-​coo and they handle her well — with care).

After all the great reviews on Unilocal,and noticing that the location was near work and home, I gave Pampered Pets a try for the first time. The customer service was fantastic from the moment I called to make an appointment, to the time I picked my pup and provided them with payment.
The place doesn’t look like much from the outside or inside, but the large pet parrot inside is quite a spectacle. The staff quickly put me at ease, and the owner talked me through the cut. I had provided the instructions my previous groomer from Seattle had given to me. He mentioned that he would cut my pup shorter than I was probably used to because of the upcoming heat. Having just relocated from colder climates, and that my dog has a black/​gray coat, I went for the recommended short version of her typical cut. It was definitely shorter than I am used too, and wasn’t a traditional Kerry cut as they left a «bib» around her belly, but overall it was OK. She received several compliments during our evening walk from others. I just need to get used to the Kerry Texan style cut. :)
Overall the full meal deal was only about $ 76 for a 30 lbs medium sized dog. I just had to drop her off between 7:30 — 9:00am, and then pick her up before they close at 5:30pm. They also take credit cards, just not Amex. I made sure to walk her before I dropped her off in the morning, and they walked her for a short bit in the afternoon. They called to let me know when she was done, and that she was OK.
Most importantly my pup left super happy and content. She didn’t have a negative experience, and was OK. She was happy to shed several layers, and thanks Pampered Pets for her new Texan hair do!

Yesterday I took my two dogs to Pampered Pets for the very first time for a bath and haircut. It’s always a little bit scary to take your babies into a new place for the first time. How will the be treated? Will they be groomed OK? Will it cost a lot?
As I entered the front door, I was immediate put at ease by the owner and groomer. They talked with me, got down on the floor with Vera, (my Bastrop Rescue dog), and gently calmed her.
We talked about their personalities, and what cuts would be best. For Riley, my Westie, they did a very traditional cut, with the carrot tail, and a perfect skirt. They even did the little trim at the top of the ears just right, too. And all their nails were trimmed. Thanks for such a great job! I’ll be back.

I’ve been a client of Pampered Pets for years, first with my beloved, blind, now deceased miniature Schnoodle and my current miniature poodle. Kenneth and Debbie have always been kind and responsive, usually taking my dog the same week I call for a grooming appointment. And my dogs have never shied away from walking in the front door, a sign to me that they do not fear their treatment at Pampered Pets. And, I believe, they are pampered and well-​groomed. What more could a responsible owner ask?

I took my dog here for grooming. They are too rough with their grooming. My dog had lacerations from the brush that was used.
I could not believe what they had done! I definitely would not take my beloved pet to this place. BEWARE

I’ve been bringing my three dogs here on and off for years. I usually groom them myself, but three dogs is a MAJOR Saturday endeavor, so on those occassions I feel less engaged in my dog ownership, I call PP. They are always friendly, helpful and even remember my dogs despite not being a ‘regular’. I like the fact they can usually take them the next day or two, none of those, ‘we can get you in a week’. They always come home looking great and happy as pups.

Looking at our little rag tag dog this morning, I realized she needs to be groomed. Pampered Pets has taken care of her since she was a puppy. She has been going here for 12 years.
Cinnamon is very shy and sometimes skittish. The sweet groomer knows her temperament and always talks soothingly to her so that she can have the best grooming experience possible. She is always so happy after getting bathed, cut and pampered.
Two funny birds live in the groomers front area. One has his cage covered up alot because he is «naughty» according to the owner. I’ve never heard a bad word from him and would not be offended but I guess other customers might.
I highly recommend this dog grooming «salon». They care about animals and sell organic preservative-​free food products that are healthy for your pup or kit cat.
