Very professional, courteous, efficient process. Bill knows what he’s doing and I appreciated his level of professionalism. The course was comprehensive and Bill took the time to explain everything in detail, but we were able to move through all requirements comfortably ahead of schedule. I’m sure the classes are great also, but I opted for an individual private lesson. I would highly recommend the 1 – 1 experience. We started in the morning and were finished right after lunch. I can’t imagine a better process for licensing.

Bill is very professional, engaged in his work, and provides a great class. He’s got a website with all the information. You take the class, do a written exam, then go to the range in Manor and do the firearm test. All 8 of us in my class passed, it seems like almost everyone passes. You can either do the DPS paperwork before or after you take the class. He signs a form and gives it to you to mail in. Bill keeps up to date with all the changes in the law. He’s very good about answering questions.

Bill is a great instructor!
This class was not only informative, but fun as well. Bill was straight to the point, no beating around the bush, and was quick to answer questions. His communication prior to the class was top notch as well. When weather was getting bad, Bill made sure to communicate to the group that the class was still a go, and that we had contingency plans if it rained on the outdoor range.
Speaking of the group, there only 8 of us, allowing for a much more personalized class. I think that everyone in the course had at least one question, and Bill was able to help each one of them/​us as if it were a one-​on-​one course.
We shared some laughs, learned a bit and even made a few friends among our classmates. I enjoyed this course 100% and recommend it to anyone looking for a quality, yet economic solution to the course requirement portion of your CHL licensing program.

Bill has a passion for what he does and how it’s done. He spends the time wisely and is focused on your success vs taking the class time to tell everybody how smart he is. If he doesn’t know the answer, he admits it and follows up with you later once he’s figured it out. I would highly recommend Bill if you are interested in getting your CHL.

Highly Recommend, Reasonably Priced, Awesome Instructor!
It’s unlikely anyone else in the Austin area is more capable than Bill Agnell. He has years of experience with the CHL program, going back to its inception working with DPS. His presentation was lively, personalized and mixed with real live examples from years as a CHL/​NRA instructor. Upon completion, you’ll have confidence in knowing CHL law, weapon safety, self-​defense and conflict avoidance. I’ll definitely return to Bill when it comes time to renew.

Bill Agnell is an excellent and knowledgeable CHL instructor. I would recommend anyone interested in learning about the legal requirements, techniques, and shooting skills relating to the Texas concealed handgun law definitely find Bill and sign up for his class! I particularly liked how he combines his experience and thorough understanding of how to apply laws with everyday scenarios to give the student confidence and common sense ways to deal with different situations.
I have owned several guns over the years, and when I signed up for the class, I was a little nervous about how it would feel carrying a concealed firearm in situations in life and on the job. How would I know when and what to do? In Bill’s class, my concerns and anxieties were answered, because he taught me via various scenario case studies that a person’s mind and understanding of the responsibilities and risks that come with a CHL license are the most important «weapon» one can have. Mr. Agnell made me realize that if I understand proper avoidance techniques and the true spirit of the laws written to increase security for all people… I can move forward with relaxed confidence. Bill is superb.
