Back a third time to share yet another glowing review as I just got my first dog.
The staff has been SO LOVELY and SO HELPFUL with my new pup. They’re really great about giving out samples of dog and cat food. This way you don’t have to waste your money on a full bag without knowing whether or not your pet will like it.
I’ve also been able to pick up some great bones and treats for my new pup. The staff is never pushy and never upselling, they are genuinely helpful.
I can’t say enough good things about Lofty Dog!

This place is a gem! The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable; always happy to answer any questions you may have and will special order things when possible, just ask! They also have samples for a lot of the brands they sell so you can make sure your pet likes it before committing to a whole bag.
They have a great selection of toys, treats, top quality dry food as well as several raw & freeze dried options. The prices are some of the best I’ve seen in an independent store, plus every Wednesday they offer a 5% discount on all food and treats and 10% off everything else.
I’ve shopped at all the local stores in the area and this spot is hands down my favorite. Plus they do a lot to help local shelters and are involved in the community. Gotta love that!

This was our first visit to the Lofty Dog and it was wonderful! We came on «poochini and pedicures night» where they will clip your pups nails and give you a drink! It was really cute and the staff is amazing, everybody was super friendly. All of their products are good quality. Needless to say we had an awesome time and plan on coming back.

The staff at the lofty dog are extremely friendly, & very educated on what dogs of all ages need.
They have a variety of things such as dog treats, not your regular dog food (healthy kind for pups) a bit pricey but very worth it!
We came in today with our new 6 week old boxer, & left with supplies, as well as knowledge on what our dog needs. (We got our puppy not knowing a lot, & thanks to the trip we made, we know what the next steps are to help our puppy grow strong & healthy)
I will recommend Lofty Dog to everyone! This place is definitely better than petco & petsmart. The staff is very knowledgable!

Great local place for your pets needs. Reasonable prices for good products and high quality foods and treats. We get our frenchie Acana Ranchlands, it is a great grain free natural dog food! He also loves the buddy biscuit dog treats. He drools over those for real! On top of all that, the staff is helpful and friendly.

After reading the reviews I expected there be more variety. I did find what I really needed but I also wanted to pick up some fun bandanas and girly bows for my dog which they didn’t really have much of. I did get a friends dog a really cute bow tie that they have in every color. They even had tie collars… I don’t think little girl would like that much!

A gem of a store for real food and healthy options for your pet. The people that run the store really care and give excellent guidance as well. Lofty Dog will be on my list always.

Dobby (my Corgi) and I love Lofty Dog. Him because he always leaves with a treat and me because I’m excited to try out something new with him. I moved to Austin last month and I’ve been to Lofty Dog four times already! My dog was getting over his Giardia so I wanted to find him kibbles that would be more gentle on his stomach as I slowly made the transition back to his normal kibbles. The staff members were very knowledgeable and even offered to give me several sample bags as I was struggling to make a decision.
It is more expensive (~$ 3 – 5) than Amazon, but for the convenience and knowledge of the staff members, it’s worth it. They do offer discounts on Wednesdays (5% off food and 10% of toys).
I LOVE the fact that they do free/​donation-​based nail trimmings the first Thursday of every month. I’m terrified of hurting my pooch when trimming his nails so I always send him out. The donations go to a different animal-​related charity every month, so I’m helping out + saving money!
** The lofty dog cookie treats in the bins are very tough. I can’t break them apart with my hands and my dog usually gives up on them since it’s too hard. But if your pooch likes their treats, Epoch, coffee shop next door, usually has some free Lofty Dog treats :)

What a great pet shop! Huge selection of dog toys, treats, grain free foods. They do monthly nail trim clinics to raise funds for local rescue groups. The staff is great. Go check this place out!

On my way to my car from enjoying lunch at San Francisco Bakery, I spot Epoch Coffee and take a detour as I suddenly decide I need an afternoon pick-me-up…now on my way across the parking lot to score some caffeine, I spot Lofty Dog. How is it that I have never been here?
I stepped in to Lofty Dog and completely forgot about my caffeine mission. I could not believe how neglected my fur babies had been — though I had no problem assuaging my guilt and we now need a larger toy basket! An associate warmly welcomed me and then at my request was happy to show me at least 100 ways I could torture my puppies — every size, material and shape of food and treat dispenser puzzle and numerous other engaging toys to keep them busy for hours — as well as 100+ ways to reward, pamper and soothe them with beautiful, fun, and sturdy toys, bath products, and specialty treats and food.
I loved shopping here, it was such a fun place!

— …and I need to repeat: they carry toys that are sturdy and beautiful. My dogs have toys all over the house (no matter that I have taught them to put their toys away in the basket, apparently that is just setting up for the take-​them-​ALL-​back-​out-​again game), and if there are going to be dog toys everywhere, it is important to me that they look nice (yes, even beautiful). That said, one of my babies is a sweet, little Rat Terrier who immediately sets about ripping the face off of every new toy, so the toys have to be durable! Two of the beautiful toys that were recommended and that I purchased while there had faces when I arrived home, and almost a week later I am happy to report that their cute little noses are still in tact — yea! Lofty Dog-​2, Turbo-​0!
I cannot wait to bring my fur babies in with me next time!

I can’t believe my luck to have found this place! I LOVE that it has all of the specialty items I use for my dogs! The prices are reasonable and the staff id friendly and knowledgeable!
If you can’t find something that you are looking for, just ask, chances are they know where to find it and will order it in for you! I also love that they allow rescues to set up tables and recruit in the shop. Overall I cannot rave about this place enough!
Take the time and look around, such unique items, and at a great price!

Okay I was contacted by the owner he was very apologetic. Apparently it was a new employee that didn’t know that product. They told us the bird was a pheasant and we found out it was actually a vulture… so I don’t think they knew the product.
The owner made it right though.
The owner gave us several ideas and choices and was more than generous on the exchange. He has won over two new customers. one of them spends beyond ridiculous amounts on her pets… good business…
I can highly recommend them if you have a problem go talk to the owner. I found him to be exceptionally bright and sincere… which is a rarity for Austin. I get the impression he is doing this because he loves his business, has a passion for it.

My boyfriend and I just recently got a puppy, and after several unpleasant experiences at Petco we decided to look for a more personable pet store to start going to. Lofty Dog is definitely going to be our store. The staff was very knowledgeable and polite– engaging in friendly conversation with both our puppy, Eli, and us. The staff members informed us of several deals/​sales related to Eli, and even lent us a chew toy while we were shopping to distract him from chewing my hair: P
We will be back many times in the future!

Nice place & owner. My co-​worker recommended Lofty Dog to me. We were having a dog Halloween costume contest and we got a gift card here. They were nice enough to give plenty of samples; a large assortment of treats, dog food and coupons. Great location.

Cannot say enough about the incredible service here! Went in for the first time today to prepare to bring home our new pug puppy in 2 weeks. Bri was suuuper helpful and went above and beyond answering our questions and giving advice. She loaded us up with samples of puppy food and helped us pick out good toys for our little guy. She even hooked us up with a FREE first time check-​up at a local vet. This will be our store for all our puppy needs from now on!

We came here because they carry a few specialty items not available at other. We picked up Orijens dog food and Turbo’s new toy an iFetch, which he’s having a lot of fun with. The staff are really nice and very helpful. The guy working had helped explained the different types of Orijens they carried so that we could find the right meat/​protein mix for Turbo.
It also looked like it had a lot great bakery treats that I’ll pick up sometime.
TIP: Come by on WOOF WEDNESDAYS, and they offer discounts
Lastly, and most importantly — there’s an awesome pug that watches over this place.

Being a dog owner and dog lover I OBVIOUSLY love Lofty Dog. The staff is always friendly and I love the community outreach programs they do. Every time I visit there seems to be a different rescue. Prices for products are reasonable and I LOVE when the pugs are there. Highly recommend the giant fish skins near the counter.

Lofty Dog has every pet essential and non-​essential you could possibly want. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and never makes you feel awkward when you walk out the door without buying anything.
They are also more knowledgable than any of the stores around about their actual products — they give you honest advice about what they think works best/isn’t up-​to-​par. The first-​hand knowledge makes me willing to spend a bit more to buy things there.

Lofty Dog is a pet boutique with high quality products and helpful staff. Their products range from necessities like pet food (most if not all are rated A+) and shampoos to fun spoil your pooch items like doggie sushi. A few products we buy here often are durable balls/​toys, Zuke’s training treats and Merrick wet food as a special treat on holidays. Merrick is made in Texas and they have seasonal and holiday themed meals such as turducken and venison holiday stew. Lofty Dog carries several other locally made products too.
Recently Nala was gifted with doggie sushi from Lofty Dog by one of the owners of her playcare as they know my adoration for sushi. It’s made with dehydrated apple as part of the «rice», topped with either beef or pork (the fish) and secured with a black strip of seaweed paper. It was super cute and Nala loved it.
They also host events with other pet friendly organizations such as «poochinis and peticures» and meet and greats with local shelters and adoptable dogs. Sign up for the email list to keep up to date on new products and special events.

I’m so glad I finally strolled into Lofty Dog! They have an amazing selection of pretty much anything dog-​rated! To top that off, that service is great — very friendly and helpful — and there’s a cute dog that walks around!
The prices aren’t outrageous unlike a lot of other specialty stores. I wish they carried NuLo, but I’ll definitely be back for more goodies for my doggie!
