David Miranda at Live Oak was beyond amazing at our wedding!!! Our top priority at our reception was to have a throw down, awesome dance party and David totally made that happen for us. We had an eclectic crew and he got everyone up and dancing, all friends and even older family members, mixing hip hop, indie, latin, and old school music to suit everyone. He also kept our reception on schedule and moving forward, as we didn’t have a wedding planner or day-​of coordinator, he was tremendously helpful in that regard as well.
We consulted with David beforehand as we initially were looking for a bilingual DJ, as many members of my husband’s family speak only Spanish, but in the end we ended up choosing David as he was the whole package and then some, and he even used our given translations during his emceeing to keep our Spanish speaking guests included and pumped up — he was freaking awesome! My father-​in-​law was on the dance floor most of the evening as were people we rarely see dancing — made for some very memorable moments and videos!
We are so glad we found David — he is incredibly talented and an all around super nice guy to work with, he consulted with us on several occasions before the wedding and made sure everything was as we imagined and more — thank you so much David!!!

We love DJ Jonathan from Live Oak! He did such an amazing job at our wedding. We had a brunch wedding, so we were a little hesitant on how the energy would be during the reception, but DJ Jonathan managed to get everyone to the dance floor! We had an absolute blast with him! He was very professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process! He was very accommodating with our special requests and was very quick to respond to emails and phone calls when we had questions. Thanks again Jonathan, you are awesome!!!

DJ Jaime was absolutely amazing! He took the time to find what my husband and I really wanted and executed it perfectly. He was fun, friendly, and my family and friends raved about what a great job he did. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks DJ JAIME!!!

Jaime was amazing to work with! I was the coordinator for a wedding in June and working with him was easy and very relaxed. He did great when we strayed from the timeline and made sure the couple got what they wanted!!! Great night, great music!

Can’t say enough how great our experience was working with Mike. Not only because he kept EVERYONE on the dance floor for our whole wedding (which made it an epic success) but because of the amount of time he spent leading up refining all the details of the day. He asked all the right questions to make sure he knew everything we wanted, and made recommendations that helped the day flow incredibly smooth. I HIGHLY recommend hiring Mike, worth every penny! (now that our event is over, I think he could charge more :)

I booked DJ Mike Marischen with Live Oak DJ to play at my wedding on March 7, 2015 out in Marble Falls. I do not regret this decision one bit. Mike was very accommodating throughout the entire process, offering to meet me basically anywhere at any time, sometimes on short notice. The night before my wedding, I was still scrambling to make last minute song changes for the ceremony. No worries, Mike was able to include these changes effortlessly. DJ Mike was well prepared and kept things running smoothly for the ceremony and reception, which gave me a huge sense of relief on my big day.
I would highly recommended Live Oak and DJ Mike. Very professional, and reasonably priced.

DJ Jaime completely rocked the party that I hired him for. He was really good at reading the crowd’s needs and got everyone dancing. And they weren’t even the dancing type! He was professional and made me feel less stressed about my party. I cannot recommend him strongly enough! He turned what I thought would be a dance-​less event into the party of the century. Live Oak hooked us up with DJ Ray for our November 2014 and he was great – the dance floor was packed the whole night, every song we wanted was played, and all the songs we didn’t were avoided. Ray was very accommodating since we were planning our wedding from out of state – spoke with him over the phone and he came out to meet us at our venue’s final walk through a month before the big day. He did a great job MC’ing our wedding as well – we had a big bridal party entrance dance, and Ray was on point in introducing each of our attendants in step with the routine! It was perfect! We also used the Photo Booth through Live Oak – everyone loved it and the attendant and set-​up was very professional – no problems at all!

Booking our DJ for a company event was easy and our DJ was great leading up to the event. Perhaps I was expecting too much, but I wish our DJ had done a bit more than just play music (and text), like pep up the crowd (or else I would have saved $ 700 and plugged in an iPhone). I would recommend the service again, but should you choose to book, be more vocal than I was about your expectations.

We had DJ Mike for our wedding and he was awesome. He was extremely professional and always very responsive with email. He made sure to play everything we asked him to play and nothing we didn’t want, and he was just great at reading the crowd. I would have felt comfortable even if we had had no requests at all. Definitely worth it to have him. Thanks Mike!

My wife and I booked DJ David Miranda from Live Oak DJ to play our wedding in late February. We were very impressed with everything from start to finish and we recommend David (with two thumbs up) to anyone on the hunt for a DJ.
We were not sure we wanted to hire a DJ because of the expense, but having been through the experience with David, we wouldn’t do it any differently if we had to do it again. David is incredibly professional and met with us multiple times to get a feel for what we wanted. The nicest part was that we didn’t have to micromanage anything. Once David knew where we wanted to go with sound and flow of the night, he took over and used our suggestions to build an outstanding playlist/​itinerary.
The website that is provided by Live Oak for couples/​event coordinators is difficult to understand at first, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it makes planning your event much easier. David actually input a good deal of information based on the meetings we had.
It’s also worth saying that David was dressed to the nines for our wedding. We really appreciate that he cares about his appearance and considers style a big part of his presence. We had multiple guests comment on the overall beauty of our wedding and the professional dress of our sound engineer.
Great sound, great personality, great leadership and excellent attention to detail. Nice work, David and the Live Oak DJ team!

Mike was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was extremely flexible about meeting times and locations, and was sensitive to our competing priorities as the wedding date arrived. He had any song you can think of, and was willing to download all of our requests. We had a few unique ideas about the song list, and he was amenable to all of them.
On the day itself, Mike was a rock star. He handled all of the announcements and emcee responsibilities very professionally, and came to us to make sure we were okay with any requests from guests. The dance floor was full the entire night, over-​flowing at times, and Mike made sure the party kept going from start to finish.
In terms of pricing, you won’t find a better value. Mike took care of our cocktail hour at a reduced rate compared to the reception, and also handled our uplighting at the cheapest price we found.

We found David Miranda through Live Oak DJ and we are so glad that we decided to hire him for our wedding! He met with us several times to go over the music choices and timeline and his service was fantastic. David mixed in our favorite songs and the mood was just right for the ceremony, cocktail, and dinner. Our guests had so much fun dancing until the very last song. My fiancé (now wife) and I sifted through all sorts of DJ’s for our wedding in June 2014. The quick responses, willingness to do a phone interview, professionalism, and thoughtfulness of Live Oak quickly grabbed our attention.
We worked with DJ Mike, and he was absolutely wonderful! He listened to what our needs and likes were, and really cared that it was perfect. He met with us twice, which was way out of his way, and he would have met with us as many times as we needed. His years of experience, and attention to detail helped him get things perfect. He arrived very early on our wedding day, set everything up beautifully, and accommodated sound for our ceremony. The reception was AWESOME! He played exactly what we were hoping, kept the flow going perfectly, made announcements, and everything just worked out way better than we ever imagined.
Live Oak DJ and DJ Mike are great. You should book them. We had in incredible experience with them… not to mention their PRICES beat everyone else we were considering. Thanks guys!!! Y’all are the best!

My husband and I booked DJ Ray with Live Oak DJ for our March 2014 wedding and we were very happy with his services! We met a couple of days before the wedding to finalize our music details and he was very personable and attentive to our ideas and preferences. My husband and I met when we were both living abroad in Rwanda and had a few peculiar requests for Rwandan pop music and DJ Ray never skipped a beat!
At the wedding, I had numerous guests comment on how much they appreciated the DJ’s music choices. Especially at the beginning, he played plenty of classics like Van Morrison and Michael Jackson that everyone could get excited to dance to. He also made sure to play some of the country classics that our dads wanted!
The booking process was easy, he was very responsive to our questions throughout the planning process, and the night was a success. We would definitely recommend DJ Ray and Live Oak DJ!

We had DJ Johnathon for our wedding this past weekend. He was very professional and organized throughout planning and put us at ease every step of the way. He even helped coordinate and provided some equipment for my dad to play a special song on his guitar during the reception. His style was directive enough for guests to know what was going on yet not cheesy or intrusive at all. The best part of course was that he played great music and kept everyone boogying throughout the night.

My husband and I found Liveoak DJ in the beginning of our wedding vendor search, and are both so excited that we did!
We worked specifically with Jonathan and he was EXCELLENT!!! He met with us on 3 different occasions to make sure everything was lined up perfectly. The day of the wedding, he showed up early to set up, kept the flow of the evening moving, and played a great variety of music.
Working with Shay, the event coordinator at Live Oak, was also very easy. She was quick to respond to emails and very helpful with any questions or concerns we had.
I will most definitely recommend Live Oak DJ and more importantly Jonathan to any of my friends and family for DJ or photo booth needs in the future.

We booked Live Oak, specifically DJ Mike Marischen, to play our December wedding. I can recommend both Live Oak and Mike without hesitation.
We were slightly hesitant about hiring a DJ since we had already hired a band and just wanted a DJ to fill in between sets and after they finished, as well as to keep things moving on schedule. After our first meeting with Mike, we were sold.
Mike spent more than an hour with us during our first meeting talking about musical tastes and our vision of the event generally. After booking Mike, we met with him two more times. He was very patient with us as we laid out our pretty specific music requests. I felt really comfortable throughout the whole process and Mike was a pleasure to work with.
We were pretty hands-​on with the music selection, and he was very accepting of that. The final meeting was very detailed, and he was very good about confirming all the details so everything would go smoothly. We made heavy use of the online planning tool, which was very helpful during our final weeks before the event.
The price paid for Mike’s services was very reasonable. The price included multiple planning meetings and all of the necessary equipment, which included some dance floor lighting. The sound system worked great in our larger venue. He brought along a second PA for the front of the venue to use during the cocktail hour prior to the reception.
Mike’s performance during the wedding was better than we could have imagined. He was very skilled at reading the audience and atmosphere and responding appropriately. He stuck to our requests, but was also able to add things that reflected our tastes. He stayed away from our stated dislikes, even to the point of somehow evading a drunk cousin’s boyfriend’s multiple requests to hear the cupid shuffle.
We are beyond pleased with the result of our decision to hire Mike. He was as much of a hit as the band. If you’re looking for a DJ for your event, you cannot go wrong with Live Oak DJs, especially Mike.

I am so excited to write this review! We hired Ray to be the DJ for our wedding at Mercury Hall on November 29^th, 2013. Ray was AMAZING!
I am super picky about music and had chosen a specific playlist and timings for the processional, the handfasting, and the recessional, as well as the dinner music, the first dances, & some of the dancing. Ray took it all in stride and executed PERFECTLY. I got so many comments about the music being awesome and the dancing never stopped the whole night! The guests had an absolute ball and I couldn’t be happier with his choices of songs to keep the party going. I’m an indie, 80’s, dance/​techno person, but Ray also was a super great sport to coordinate with my mom secretly to pull off a Texas Country surprise where they busted out cowboy hats and country songs — SO MUCH FUN!
He came early, looked great, had everything set up beautifully for the outdoor ceremony to the point that I still don’t even know where the speakers were — it was like music was just playing from the heavens above. He had the sound JUST PERFECT and the mics worked really well also. Ray recommended some simple white uplighting to accent the windows at Mercury Hall and I’m so glad we said YES to that as well — it really added a lot to make the perfect ambiance.
Ray was a joy to work with and we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. THANK YOU RAY! Wish we could do it all over again. Sincerely, Lindsay & Joseph

Back in July 2012, I booked with Live Oak DJ and was promised DJ Sean G. I spent an hour talking to DJ Sean, and I was comfortable with his services and the fact that he’s DJ’ed at the Wildflower Center several times. In December 2012, 3 months before my wedding, I received an e-​mail stating DJ Sean G was no longer able to fulfill his wedding obligations due to a family situation. I was upset and devastated, but Live Oak DJ offered to give me DJ Ray Lopez. I spoke to Ray briefly and felt okay with his services, but I didn’t get quite the same feeling about him as I did Sean G. I didn’t even meet him until the day before my wedding. We met to go over the timeline and song requests. Even then, it was a brief meeting, but I gave him free range to play songs based on what the crowd was feeling at the moment.
HE DID AN AMAZING JOB! He far exceeded my expectations and was able to get my guests up and dancing right away, which was one of my biggest concerns. About half my guests dance, and the other half don’t, so it was a toss up if it would be a fun or awkward night. Although I provided a love it, like it, and don’t play list, he was smart enough to NOT strictly adhere to the «love it» list. He played many songs that were crowd pleasers that weren’t even on the list, which I sooo appreciated. He was even able to get the Harlem Shake (youtube version) at the last minute when we decided to do a surprise Harlem Shake. I couldn’t have asked for a better night. He played awesome dance music. I’m just so blown away by his skills and ability to read the crowd. I’d give him 10 stars if I could.
