I give this two stars because it is partly my fault. I ordered a turkey breast salad. What I got was literally deli meat rolled into swirls tossed with jarred/canned pickles, yellow peppers, black olives, cucumber and bell pepper. Let me not forget the complete processed yellow and white sandwich cheese cut into triangles. It was my fault for ordering a salad at an obvious very unhealthy sub shop. I expected actual turkey breast and idk. Real veggies? I could vomit now. The meatball subs smelled fantastic, but I can’t imagine what they came from or how long they had been frozen for. Yikes!

Really like the veggie sub. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients. Service could be a bit friendlier, but overall, really good.

Very good service, very friendly and VERY good meat! I ordered the reuben, in my opinion it’s a good gauge of quality. It was not disappointing in fact it was delicious and juicy. I met a friendly gentleman while I was pigging out and he gave me the lowdown on the place, he has his lunch there four times a week and knows the owner, he is smitten with the place and now I am as well. Yum!

This place has a little bit more of a hole-in-the-wall kind of feel than a lot of the big-box places around town, which is a plus for me. I’ve always been greeted with good customer service and the sandwiches are pretty good. I particularly recommend the Cuban!

Stick to cold cut hogies and italian subs and you can’t go wrong — so much better than most other sub shops. If you want a good chessesteak, go somewhere that specializes.

Sandwiches here are going to blow your mind. Phong(the owner) will give his 110% to get to personally cater to your needs. Even if you don’t want a sandwich, he’s the guy to talk to brighten your day. Whichever sandwich you choose, you can’t go wrong because it’s that good. Phong will remember you by name and greet you like his own family member. Ignore all the negative reviews. If someone sticks their finger in your sandwich, yeah that sucks, but I’m sure he had gloves on. I’m also pretty sure he cares more about the customer’s dissatisfaction than anything. You’re not going to get this quality in a sandwich anywhere else, but don’t take my word for it. Just eat here.

So far I am not impressed. I ordered a cheesesteak and they are microwaving the meat. The nuked cheesesteak arrived at my table with cold pockets of meat in the sandwich. When I told the man it was still cold, he proceeded to stick his gloved finger into my sandwich to gauge the temperature.

This is a good spot — for an 8″ and soup with a drink was only $ 10.27. The food was different and tasty, so I certainly recommend this little spot. The guy working was really friendly and helpful which is always a plus!

I LOVELARRY’S. And so will you; would put money on it. This location is run by the cheeriest man and his family. The egg salad sub is to die for — he makes it from scratch every time… And by that, I mean he literally grates the hard boiled eggs right in front of you. On this visit, I just had the best meatball sub I have ever had. Fresh melty provolone, wonderful, juicy meatballs… As you might be able to tell, this is no ordinary sub/sandwich shop. Larry’s has daily specials, which often involves family recipes simmering in a slow cooker on the counter. Want a side of étouffée? Can’t get that at Thunderbird(though I do like their salads)! Please, go check this place out. The food and the sweet family will leave such an impression on you. I’m sad that this place seems«undiscovered» by the masses… Remember: egg salad. meatball. Oh yeah, he makes his own hot sauce. Delish!

Love this place! We ‘discovered’ it finally about 6 months ago and now eat here way too much! The animal is a favorite(hot ham and turkey), as well as the Kongs club(cold bacon, turkey, ham). Never really had anything bad; those just happen to be our regulars. It’s not particularly quick, so we frequently call ours in ahead of time. Oh, the owner is so nice. He really makes the place.

Best subs in austin hands down! Everything sub I have had here has been phenomenal. The Cuban is definately authentic and is packed full of flavor. Pizza sub is outstanding and definately worth a try. Ingredients are always fresh and staff is always friendly. Sometimes when it’s busy it can take a while though. But it is definately worth the wait! I have been to many sandwich shops and this one is definately the leader of the pack. Plus they have the buy 9 subs get the 10th free card which keeps me coming back.

Just had lunch here– I got the Jake’s Hoagie(nix the onions). My hoagie was hot with tons of cheese and meat. As a first time customer I’ll definitely be back.

The turkey sub is my favorite! The only other sub I’ve tried was the cheese steak, which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. However, one of the best things about visiting Larry’s is the owner who is always welcoming and accommodating. He seems to take a genuine interest in his customer’s experience. While I was there, there were two other customers raving about the owner’s own hot sauce that he makes in house and were even buying some to take home! While I didn’t try it at that time, I think it is a testament to the owner’s sincere interest in his shop, and it gives me something to look forward to on my next visit!

Alright this is definitely a top spot for sandwiches in Austin. I just tried The Destroyer which is premium ham, cooked & genoa salami, capicola, pepperoni, beef bologna and provolone on a toasted roll. Yeah not the healthiest thing on earth but it was damn delicious. They give you generous portions of meat to the point where it’s pouring out the sides and back of the bread as you eat it. For a 12″ sandwich it’s less than $ 8 and it’s seriously 2 to 3 meals in one. The owner and the staff are all super friendly as well. For service, value and taste this place deserves a 5 star rating in my book.

I had the PIzza Sub which was a hot sub option. Basically was mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and pizza sauce. It was pretty good for what it was. Not terrible but not extremely fantastic either. There were barely any people in there when I was eating my sub. My fiancé got a Philly cheese steak sub which looked pretty unappetizing. I thought I smelled ground beef cooking before it came out to us and sure enough, it was ground beef with what looked to be some onions. I wouldn’t go here again unless I was dying of hunger and had zero options to go elsewhere. Also, another customer came in and commented to the guy taking orders how ‘nothing on the specials list is ever good’. The only pro I could say was that the guy making the subs was polite… that’s worth something at least.

What a terrible, terrible«cheese steak» they make here. It is literally ground fucking beef with a couple small onions. GROUNDBEEF, not sliced ribeye, the way it is supposed to be made. Everything was precooked, and just slopped on some bread and run through a toaster. It was like hamburger helper, without the fucking helper. That leaves you with a hamburger crumble sandwich, not a fucking cheesesteak! I’m getting angry again thinking about my meal 2 days ago… There is no griddle for cooking the«steak» which was absolutely ground beef. The ingredients in the tray were visibly underripe or had been sitting out a long time and looked sloppy and just seemed like a place that did very little business and as a result had little turnover of the product. Everything seemed low quality from the veggies, to the bread and definitely the meat. I am shocked this place has even decent reviews.

Great portions and super friendly staff & very affordable! We ordered«The Destroyer», for a 12″ sandwich, it was only $ 7.69… generous amount of quality meat. It’s a whole lot better than Subways! The Italian Sausage & Peppers was $ 7.49 and it was decent, but nothing to write home about. The staff even asked if we wanted half our sandwiches wrapped to go, which we appreciated. The menu is huge, it was hard for us to decide, you should be able to find something to satisfy your sandwich cravings!
