Kid Spa Austin

This is a decent place for drop in child care, everything looks very nice. The amount of kids they get the space definitely is not big enough to accommodate the kids. They are understaffed, and the staff is very unfriendly and seems like when they are having a bad day they do not want to deal with the kids… They are semi rough with them. I understand you must be stern with children but no child should be dealt with they way some of the staff deal with them. There is/​was a Wasp nest underneath the play area that was ignored that staff had knowledge of and the children were still taken out and let play on the playground. That seemed very careless and unsafe. I did not have a good experience them. I would not leave my child there even if they are considered «best drop in» daycare.

I love kidspa with no family in the area to babysit this place is an awesome solution to a much needed datenight. My kids are always excited to get to go play at kidspa!

We love Kid Spa! Our sassy 3 yr old girl (almost 4 in June) has been going for 2 years now and has blossomed under Mrs. B and Jessica. The front office has also been very accommodating with our favorites being Katie, Ms. Leslie and Ms. Rosemary. Very friendly and cheerful staff. Surely Ken Morrissey is hiring the best people!

My son has been going to Kid Spa for about 2 years and he loves it! He’s made many friends and I’ve gotten to know some parents over the years. The staff is very warm, dedicated and accommodating. I love the flexibility that Kid Spa offers in both programs and schedule availability. I really love the drop in option and the hours that are offered.
He’s been in the preschool program for about 1.5 years. I feel like he’s learned so much and has become more social through the preschool. I would highly recommend taking your kiddos to Kid Spa!

Kidspa Austin is widely known as the top ‘drop-​in’ daycare in Austin, but it is so much more than that! My daughters have been visiting/​attending Kidspa for almost 3 years and the level of familiarity with staff (due to lack of turnover), organizational excellence, cleanliness and educational services rival some of the area’s so called «early learning academies» and private education programs for Pre-​K students.

The staff at KidSpa are nice and helpful. The facility is clean and my kids have fun here!

I have had my children at KidSpa since they were both 18 months old. My oldest daughter missed the AISD kindergarten cut-​off by 2 months, but because of pre-​K teacher, Ms. B, she tested into kindergarten at a private school a year early. Ms. B is an excellent teacher who truly loves her students and gives them all the attention and tools for learning that they need to succeed in grade school. I wish we could take her through every grade, as my entire family adores her! We looked at many daycare centers when my daughter was an infant, but none of them made me 100% comfortable. I knew the day that we went in to tour KidSpa in 2011 that I would be enrolling my daughter. Not a thing has changed in the 4+ years since we started using KidSpa. The owners and the entire staff are friendly and helpful. There have been several days when I’ve called the center 3 times just to check in and I am always given an update. Whomever I get on the phone physically goes back to talk to the teacher to see how my kids are doing and provides an immediate update. They go out of their way to really get to know the families and I love that. I don’t ever feel like my children, myself or my husband are just numbers to them. The facility is always clean and well maintained and I love the openness of the Circle C location. The center is well organized and secure. They offer quality drop-​in care or full-​time enrollment at very reasonable prices. Their hours are wonderful because they stay open later than most other daycares, which is helpful if you end up stuck in I-​35 traffic for 2 hours! The activities provided for the younger children and the curriculum for the pre-​K students are wonderful. My kids learn so much at KidSpa and they are loved and well cared for while they are there. I can’t say enough good things about KidSpa or the staff!

We just started Kid Spa this past September, but we already love it so much! When we first toured it, we instantly fell in love but was skeptical of course, because we had a hard time believing the price could be so reasonable for such a great facility. Well, it really is as good as it seemed, and more!

Had a fabulous experience with Kid Spa! I was in town for a business workshop and my original childcare plans totally fell through. A member of the business school staff recommended Kid Spa (it’s where he brings his own kids) so I decided to give it a shot. This was my first time ever putting my 19 mo in a daycare environment so I was a little nervous, but knew that it came highly recommended. To my great relief and delight, they ended up completely exceeding my expectations!
The staff was so helpful and was 100% willing to work with me. They took great care of my son (he had a blast!), and I was very impressed by their professionalism and the quality of play and food. I was also surprised by how affordable it was!
I felt completely comfortable entrusting my son to the staff and I was able to enjoy my class instead of worrying every 5 minutes about how my son was doing. Definitely check out Kid Spa if you’re looking for a drop-​in daycare. They don’t just take of the kids, they take care of the parents too.

I’ve taken my kids to Kidspa for many years. All three of them enjoyed it so much. It’s sad my kids are too old to go now. The facility is so very safe!
It’s clean and very well organized. I love the schedule they have. They provide lunch as well if you’re in a pinch and have to drop off in a hurry.
They have things to do for all ages even computer and electronics.
My middle child enjoyed the playscape area most. It’s wonderful because it all shaded!
Kidspa is a wonderful and safe place to drop off kids or take them on a regular basis. The staff is always so nice and they remember my kids names just like that!

Both of our daughters, ages 2 and 3 ½ love going to KidSpa. They love the mix of activities from being able to play outside to going to the theater room to doing crafts. It has become an informal pre-​school for our older daughter and she will enroll in the formal class in the fall at age 4. The staff is great and we have rarely had any issues with the center being full when we drop-​in without notice.

We’ve been coming to KidSpa since we moved to Austin, approximately a year and a half ago. I didn’t have any family here to help me out during appointments, etc… Including date nights with my husband. My daughter had never been taken care of by anyone but family so I was shocked by the third time here that she was excited to go. This little girl is VOCAL, there isn’t a word she doesn’t know, so if there was ever any issue, she would tell me. (She’s now a little over 3 years old). She actually ASKS me to go to «school» daily. KidSpa has become a life saver for me and a blast for her. All of the teachers there know her name and she comes home talking about them and what a great time she had. We love KidSpa!

We’ve used kidspa on many occasions for drop-​in childcare and both of my kids had decent experiences. There have been a couple of times when it felt a bit chaotic and slow in dropping off and picking up with so many people in the lobby at once. But other than that, our drop-​in experiences have been pretty good. My son started drop-​in preschool today and came home saying he had a good day. He brought home some artwork and went over what he did during the day. So far so good!

We have used this center about 7 or 8 times based on some good reviews from friends and online research. Unfortunately we do not go there anymore due to a bad experience with my 2 year old. This is a good drop in day care, but I would not recommend this as a routine day care for longer than 2 – 3 hours especially for toddlers. It is unpredictable how many kids show up, so I can see how things can get overlooked, but children that get overlooked may become harmed.

My son has been going to Kid spa since he was 18 months! He started Mrs. B’s preschool class when he was 3 and is now 4. Everyday he comes home talking about words he learned, songs he sung and playing with his friends on the playground. (They learn about hibernation… who teaches that??? Amazing) On days he is not signed up for class, I can still drop him off, if needed, knowing he his going to be well cared for. All of the staff are kind and thoughtful. Yes, the staff are busy. Yes, kids occasionally do get hurt, but it is not because of lack of care. Kids are kids and sometimes they hurt each other. And when this occasion does happened (twice in two years) I was well informed about the circumstances. Kids spa is also wonderful for parents who need a date night!!! You can’t beat the price for the quality of care!!!

We’ve had a really good experience with KidSpa on Slaughter Lane. My now-​25-​month-​old son started there at 18 months, going twice a week for about 5 hours at a time. He loved it right from the start. I’ve also sent my four-​year-​old there a few times, and she really enjoys it too. We love that it’s drop-​in (though they often fill up by 9 or 10 AM – but you can call ahead and semi-​reserve a spot if you know you won’t be bringing them in early), and that it’s so affordable. We also love that they do have an actual curriculum although it’s technically just a daycare, with art, movement, playing outside, reading, singing, working with letters and numbers, etc. The facility always appears to be clean and well-​run, and with lots of happy kids running around. The big room is open, so you can see just about everything once inside, which makes me feel good. And all my son’s teachers, plus the people at the front desk, are always really friendly and helpful. It does sometimes take 5 minutes to get him when I’m picking him up, because it’s a popular place and there are lots of kids to be managed. That doesn’t seem like a problem to me. Oh, another good thing — my older child has Down syndrome, and that hasn’t been an issue for them at KidSpa when we’ve sent her there. Not that it should be – it should NOT — but I’ve spoken to people at a couple of daycares and preschools in town that don’t take kids with special needs, which is a real shame. Inclusive school settings are good for EVERYONE, not just the child with special needs. But at KidSpa, they don’t treat my daughter any differently from any of the other kids, which is perfect for us.

My daughter was crying when I got there which is fine, but the staff’s response was ‘I can’t understand you’ and ignored her. And then her cup of milk was full still, not offered at dinner and her water cup was full. I am not even sure she ate her dinner. I am a kindergarten teacher and children have meltdowns, but I don’t let them crying feeling insecure. If you have little ones, think before you take them.

I have given this a lot of thought before writing a review. As someone who relies on reviews myself for business I do not hand out negative ones lightly. That being said I think it is important to share my experience with Kid Spa on Slaughter ln.
It was our first and only visit. My first impression was very good, clean organized looking, good security. I left my child with confidence he was in good hands. While I went to work. A few hours later I get a call, the girl on the phone tell me my son has been involved in some altercation and that he’s been bit on the cheek. My response is «in the face?!?» She responses immediately telling me that my son started the fight and in turn got bit In the face. I then asked «is it bad?!?» She then replies «well he picked at it so we put a bandaid on it. This response tells me yes it’s bad. I leave work and come to get him. When I arrive I see he has a poorly positioned bloody bandaide on his face. I’m too upset to ask anything I just want to get him home. When I ask my son what happen he’s says „he bit me!“ I say did you pull his hair?» He says «yes» so I say «why?» He says «he hit me mama». KID SPA LIED TO ME! They choose to lie to defuse the situation. I understand kids are kids. However you should never lie to a mother when it come to her child. Not to mention when I got home and tended to my son’s wound. There is no way my son picked at his face and did that. Another lie. $ 80, 3 weeks later and my son is left with a dime sized scar on his face. The center of it still hasn’t healed. Not to mention the money I’ve spent in products to heal his wound. So how do I know they lied??? Well the Manger called 2 days later and confirmed my son’s story. She just called to find out if we were coming back not to offer any apologies. Well we are not coming back. Also I’m guessing since you didn’t call back your company won’t be purchasing mederma for my son’s FACE! This was handled so poorly, makes me wonder if being lied to is something you should expect.

This review has been a long time coming — we LOVE Kid Spa! My oldest started at KS right at 18 months just as an occasional drop in. After her baby brother came along she went more often and at 2yo she was in the very first Early-​Pre-​School Program. Now she is in Mrs. B’s Pre-​K class while her brother attends the EPS Program. They both are in love with their teachers and look forward to school every time we go (3 days a week).
My daughter can read an early reader with ease, is beginning to do simple math (addition, subtraction) and has had this idea of friendship so engrained in her now that for years people have commented about her social skills (I know this is a lot about personality, but I truly believe KS played a major role in giving her the language and skills she needs to make friends and «get along»).
My biggest concern at this point is that the day my daughter has to leave KS and move on to Kindergarten is too fast approaching. I honestly dread that change, personally; however, I have every reason to believe my daughter will excel in «big kid school» thanks in large part to Mrs. B, Mrs. Rosemary and the entire Kid Spa staff and experience.
I could go on and on for days simply gushing about our experience here. The price simply cannot be beat for the quality, flexibility, love and care my children receive while at Kid Spa. They have been a lifesaver when other babysitting options fell through (open til 10 during the week and 12 on the weekends!). I love how they work with local businesses to provide unique new experiences for the kids (martial arts, annual Fall Festival, etc.). While academics is a priority at KS, it is also important that the kids have fun, are excited to learn, and value their relationships with each other, their teachers, family, and friends.

We have two children and they both LOVE Kid Spa. They get so excited to go to «school» and play with their friends. We also feel extremely comfortable leaving them in their care because we see how receptive they are to them when we walk in. All the ladies know them by name and greet us promptly when we walk in. We also LOVE the hours. So convenient for the parent who occasionally has to work past 6pm. It is also nice when you have something spur of the moment. No reservation needed. Just bring them in. There has only been 2 times where they were at capacity and I had to wait on a kid or two to leave before I could drop mine off but it wasn’t any longer than 30 mins. We use them frequently so 2 times of waiting a little while is no biggie.
Conventional daycares are good for the 9 – 5 parent but that’s about it. I would say the only thing that could make Kid Spa any better would be if they would open on Sunday! Definitely believe they should open another in the south location. When word of mouth gets around; they’ll need it.
