History

Established in 1982.

Junior started it in 1982, but met an early demise. Some of his employees purchased it in the mid-​80s, and ran it until about 1989 when another entrepreneur purchased the store. In early 2004, Junior’s changed hands a fourth time and the latest Junior became the current Junior. Bringing kegs, beer, wine, and ice to Austin, Junior’s is an Austin icon. Junior loves his beer. I brewed my own beer for awhile, but found an opportunity to purchase the store that I patronized for 20 years during college and beyond. It’s been great to bring great beers to others who love their beer. It’s also awesome to be the latest Junior in a line of Juniors that stretches almost 30 years of history in Austin. We’re trying to help keep Austin unique and weird.
