IFF! It’s a nice, hip, healthy café in South Austin! Décor: The décor is clean, with huge windows and allows for a lot of natural lighting. It’s a great place to grab a healthy meal and get some work done. There are even electrical outlets under the booths, which is huge for people wanting to get some studying or work done! Coffee: They use Cuvee coffee and make amazing lattes! — Their almond latte is my favorite. — They also make house made chai! Food: They have a variety of healthy options including some gluten free options as well. — Pork Belly Banh Mi is good but a little salty. — Chicken Salad Sandwhich was great — Cream of broccoli soup was delicious!

Second time here in one week. Food is delicious and freshly prepared. Staff is super friendly. Far south Austin has needed a place like this. Only thing that makes me sad is closed Sunday’s.

Came here on a Saturday morning just before 11 and it was pretty packed, considering they don’t have very much seating. So my family and I got the food to go. My husband got the chicken n waffles, and I got the breakfast panini. The panini was nothing to die for but the chicken n waffles on the other hand was amazing. The chicken was really well seasoned and the waffle was fluffy. I’ll definitely be back for more of that and hopefully explore the rest of the menu both lunch and breakfast.

Quite a gem! Like, I seriously think more highly of this whole neighborhood after discovering this chic spot. Is that wrong? To be honest, I’ve only had their caramel cheesecake, but the rest of the food looks tasty too and the atmosphere is cool. They have a bunch of people providing great service who obviously care about the place. Can’t wait to g back!

I bet I could give 5 stars if I ate in :) I had a burger to go and it was delicious! The fries were tasty and the service friendly and prompt. I will happily return to eat in in the near future.

Had lunch with the family. Everyone’s meals were great. Tomato basil soup, hamburger and beef cheek torta. All finished off with a s’mores cupcake. Can’t wait to come try their breakfast!

My husband and I eat here sometimes up to twice a week, it’s THAT good. I love the pesto pasta and the bahn mi, truffle fries. He almost always gets the dinner special and the deviled eggs when available. His favorites have been the meatloaf and the beef roast or steak. The broccoli pepper things is AMAzInG. The tea is amazing and free refills. Now desserts, ermuhgerd… my go to favorite is the pecan chocolate chip cookie. I need half now and half at work the next day. The key lime tart is awesome. Clearly I’ve had everything on their menu and eat often. I’m literally going to go broke at IFF but it’s ok because I’ll just work the kitchen to keep eating the awesome foods they offer.

Stumbled upon this place as I was waiting to get new tires at discount tires. This place is sort of like a hidden gem. I was greeted with a warm welcome as I stepped in and was helped with the menu since it was my first time there. Everything is prepared fresh which is a huge bonus. I’m a coffee drinker and for them to also have iced vanilla lattes and wifi I give them 10 stars. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and I must say their coffee can hold its own against any café. I ordered the grass fed beef burger with basil pesto mayo. It was cooked to perfection. The bun was homemade and the fries crisp. Now that I know about this place I’ll be coming back a lot more and referring my friends and family to try it. I can’t wait to try their pastries next time I come. All gluten free from what I was told.

I split the turkey meatloaf and banh mi sandwiches with my companion. Both were great and unique. The bread was really nice. The focaccia had good flavor and texture. The baguette had great inner texture but the crust could have been crunchier. The ingredients were spot on. I liked how the jalapeños on the banh mi were sliced really thinly. The pork belly had a nice crust. I had pasta salad as my side and it was simple which was good in between bites of flavorful sandwiches. The service was attentive but not annoying. Would go back.

Great coffee. They make cuvée in a way that I actually like this coffee. Normally hate it. Love the salmon cakes. Love the balance of herbs and flavor. The dill balance is what like most. I love dill! It’s not ‘bready’ at all. Also, a large portion, I half it for two meals. I usually get this with the cucumber salad and one of the starch options. The potato salad is really good, recommend as well. Just had the burger. DELICIOUS! So so happy I can get such a scrumptious burger so close to home. It’s pretty much perfect: grass fed, wonderfully flavorful with a hint of Worcestershire(?), plus a perfect egg bun, a slice of tomato, romaine leaf, and a wonderful spread that’s got the perfect balance of flavor to the rest of the meal. This is combined with yummy truffle skinny fries. This is on par with my favorite burger in Austin at Hop Doddy’s. So glad it’s so much easier to get to! I’m figuring out what I enjoy here, and it’s items I really like. They seem to adjust their menu over time, but it’s not a change that will leave you wishing they’d bring back your favorite from last week. The nightly dinner option changes each day, which is a great addition to a stand by menu.

Had dinner here with the family, it was amazing! I had the meatloaf, which was made with veggies on the inside, the mashed potatoes were delicious! My husband had the Barbacoa torta, he loved it, my kids shared a delicious burger, my son said it was great, they kept talking about the bun, and the Parmesan fries were a big hit(kind of on the tiny side but very good taste). Great selection, with a good amount of food served. I want to try another dinner night as they offer a different main selection each night. I tried the French press coffee after dinner, it was wonderful. My kids each had a cupcake, one was S’mores, one was Tres Leches, we enjoyed the S’mores over Tres Leches, it was spongier. Tres Leches lacked something, I think it was way more Leche. We will definitely be back. I can’t wait to try the breakfast.

A friend and I stopped in here just for coffee, as we had already eaten lunch. We both ordered iced lattes and they were really good. The Cuvee coffee is of course, fantastic. They coffees were well made, and we didn’t have to wait too long. They had a nice little staging area for coffee where you could get straws and lids and add house-made simple syrup to your drink if you liked. The staff was friendly and their pastries as well as their salads looked delicious. This is a nicely done place with that farm to fork but trendy feel. I’d love to come back and try out some of their eats.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. Excellent coffee, delicious food, and the staff is wonderful! So a bit of back story’s…we were actually supposed to be heading out to Galveston for a few days for a well deserved vacation, but due to some unforeseen happenings, we had to cancel the day before. Needless to say, we were were really, really bummed. Beyond bummed, actually. We thought our whole week off was ruined. We decided to try to make the best of it and have a little stay-cation. We started our morning at Independence Fine Foods and they made our whole day. The gentlemen who served us were so kind and knowledgeable. My boyfriend ordered the sweet potato waffles and I got the French toast and an Americano. Being a former barista, I’m a tad picky about my coffee, but this was probably one of the best Americanos I’ve had in a while. And the food! The French toast was wonderful, but the Sweet potato waffles… Omg. So delicious! I ended up stealing some of his food for myself. Don’t worry, I shared some of my toast. We even left with a few cupcakes to eat later. Although I was tempted to leave with everything in the pastry case. It all looked so amazing! If you appreciate a local business with a great atmosphere, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back. Probably tomorrow. And I plan I trying one of those Key Lime Tarts too. You guys rock! Keep up the good work!

Finally stopped in for dinner tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I had their grass-fed burger, my wife enjoyed the chili-chicken empanada. My beef was good and juicy(caution: first bite all down the front of my shirt… :-/.) The pastry around my wife’s empanada was flaky and good. And then dessert… I had a pecan praline brownie I didn’t want to end. My wife had a peanut butter bacon & pretzel chocolate cupcake. I think her eyes rolled back in her head. Staff was very accommodating, explaining what we needed to know. Looking forward to our next visit!

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is beautifully done with unfinished wood walls and decorated with movie art work. It’s always reassuring to have Clint Eastwood watching over you while eating. The lunch menu boasted an array of traditional sandwiches like a tuna melt as well as specialty sandwiches such as the braised beef cheek(which was delicious). If you’re looking for a good coffee or Deli style café, this place is perfect.

First time visit with two neighborhood couples. The restaurant is very cute, and very compact. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and helped us with menu suggestions. I opted for the grass fed burger with a fried egg on top. I must admit I was skeptical about the whole«grass fed» thing but it was outstanding. Very nice flavor! Portions were right for the price, good selection and all 6 of us enjoyed our dinners very much. The only reason for the 4 stars were the deserts. The pecan praline brownies crust was very hard and pretty much solid sugar. The brownie itself was just OK. One other had the lemon meringue pie and while the filling was excellent, the meringue itself was grainy and very sugary. It’s great to find this jewel in the neighborhood and all of us say we will be back!!!

I saw someone review this place from Unilocal and it’s on my way to work so I decided to stop in and check it out. My first time, I thought I could pick up some quick breakfast and a coffee but it would take longer than I had time for so I just got a coffee. The second time, I was able to spend some more time here. I ordered a coffee and the chicken and waffles. I think my expectations for chicken and waffles are too high. It was ok. The chicken was a little bland. They had sriracha so I used that as a dipping sauce. The waffles were not memorable either. They weren’t as crispy as I like. It might just be my personal preferences. Cute little place, service is exceptional. I will be back to try other items on their menu.
