Discount Tire Store – Austin, TX

I have been going to this particular Discount Tire location for a few years now. I have never had a problem with the service or product I have purchased with them.
However, the other day when I was in there it was crazy busy. I pulled out my laptop to do a few things only to find there is no «free wi-​fi» available for their customers. This day in time that’s pretty much unacceptable. Everyone knows you’re going to be there for at least 45 minutes. Why not offer your customers free wifi so they aren’t spending more money on data charges? Burger King next door has free wifi for crying out loud.

I highly recommend this store! Eric is an outstanding employee not only he was honest and also made sure that my vehicle is in tip top shape… I was informed that the wait time was 45 minutes however I was out of the store in under 30 minutes… great place to get your vehicle tire needs to be done and have a pleasant atmosphere… will definitely be back again!

Great experience every time and have been coming here for 10 years now. Unfortunately needed to visit frequently as I’ve had a multitude of tire issues with my Honda minivan like running into every nail in town. That said, every time I’m either in and out for free and covered on their great warranty or a good price for a new tire. These guys are great, great, great.

Been coming to this store for a few years now and my loyalty will continue. Pricing is always reasonable and service is good. Last year we bought wifey a new set of tires. The salesman offered two different brands, yet the more expensive one had a $ 70 rebate which would even out the price. We opted for the more expensive one and I sent in the Bridgestone rebate. Months went by with no $ 70 check arriving at all. Come to find out the particular model # was not eligible for the rebate. I was highly upset.
My truck needed new tires recently so I went to Discount Tires (around June 2015) and got a couple of price quotes. I chose the tires I wanted, and just before the salesman made the sale final, I told him about my wife’s tire rebate that didn’t happen due to another salesman not paying attention to the fine details. The young man named Chris did a little searching and was able to honor the rebate and gave me $ 70 off my tire purchase. Now that’s what I call good customer service. He didn’t argue with me, realized it was their fault and fixed the wrong.
Lesson learned on my end too. In the future I will definitely ask specific questions regarding rebates, model numbers, due dates, etc. Thank you Chris, you made me an extra loyal customer.

Discount Tire is awesome, but this location shines amongst the ones ive been to before. Not only are they less than a 5 minute drive from my house, but they’re also quick and friendly! I came in to have my tires rotated, being as it was around that 5,000 mile mark, and I was in and out within 25 minutes after being quoted 45 minutes initially! Now thats what I call excellent customer service and a crew that doesnt mess around!
I will always bring my vehicles into this Discount Tire if i ever need anything relating to my 4 rubber shoes!

David on the team helped me out massively today! I bought a set of tires for my VW back in July during a sale and qualified for a 160 dollar rebate. Silly me forgot to process the rebate of course. He called their offices and got my expired warranty processed!!! Dude you just saved me 160 bucks!!!

My whole family uses Discount Tire! Their business model is wonderful! Always friendly, no BS, just great service at a great price! I can always count on them to make sure my tire game is strong I always get the extended warranty on any tires I buy there. It usually ends up paying for itself!

I had a screw in my tire this morning. My tires are the factory original and were not purchased here. Discount Tire patched my tire for no charge and everyone was super friendly. I will definitely be back! It was nice to have the Burger King right next door to sit and wait for my car.

Pretty quick, especially when you make an appointment. Very friendly and helpful service. The waiting area could use a kids play area but they have some magazines and bottled water to enjoy while you wait.

Shortly after I bought a new set of tires at Discount Tire, I got a flat on the highway on a road trip. The tire was ruined. Although Discount Tire shops are everywhere in Texas, it was a Sunday and they are closed on Sundays. I was initially frustrated that I had to buy a new tire at Wal-​mart when I had paid for the Discount Tire warranty. Once back in town I stopped at my regular Discount Tire and they not only gave me a new tire to match the set I purchased from them, but they reimbursed me for the tire I bought at Wal-​mart. All I had to pay was about $ 20 for the warranty to apply to my new, free tire. I was floored and thrilled.
A week or two before this, Discount Tire repaired — for free — a nail puncture on my other car’s original factory tires.
The staff at Discount Tire is so quick and friendly when you roll up for a free air pressure check.
Before becoming a Discount Tire customer, I purchased tires at Costco. I later found out that Costco sold me new, but very old tires. Don’t buy your tires where you buy your toilet paper.

Visited store located at: 1807 W. Slaughter Lane Austin, TX 78 748 on 07/​10/​2015 to check my tire pressure as my tire pressure light was going off spectrally, all tires had correct pressure and attendant stated it was probably having an error indicator due to my new custom wheels.
Had my tires checked as I was traveling to Kerrville TX 78 028 about a 2hr drive from Austin. On the way back to Austin after my visit I noticed the van violently bounced and then a strong blowout driving 70mph.
Caused 350.00 damage to my rear bumper and had to pay $ 125 for a tow service help me change the tire as I am disabled, The tires were severely dry rotted.
The main reason for this feedback to this store is because, a simple tire inspection during the tire pressure check could have saved me $ 500 and a lot of inconvenience and a sale opportunity for Discount Tire.
All tires were dry rotted and showing belts and the spare was worse being 14 years old.
I would suggest not only a free tire pressure check, but also an inspection, which only takes a few seconds to perform and could do a lot of good for the safety of your customers. Yes, I did end up buying 5 tires from Discount tire in Marble falls.
With this blowout not being caught by the Slaughter location made very bad feelings about how this oversight could have cost me my life not counting the amount I unnecessarily spent, if it was caught.

Wow… Great customer service experience here! I called in to see if they could squeeze me in to fix a leaking tire and not only did they accommodate me that day but they went above and beyond. They rotated my tires and also helped install my new windshield wipers for free. What?!? I’m a full time student so that meant a lot!
The prices are extremely reasonable, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend using discount tire if you’re looking for a trust-​worthy, reliable, and affordable place for your tire needs! Thanks y’all! I’ll be back soon!

Love this place and the guys that work there. Ran over something… cut a hole in my tire. Bye bye tire. After having roadside assistance come and get my spare on, I called Discount Tire… at like 3pm on a Friday… the day before the 4^th of July when I knew they would be closed… to see what the chances were of my getting in and getting a new tire put on like… now. Tim who answered the phone said come on it. We are open till 6. If you show up at 5:59 we will still help you. So off I go…
Get there and while they were slammed as usual they got me in quick and I was in and out in less than an hour. I am always impressed with how respectful all the employees are to the customers and the guys working in the garage section always seem to be going a million miles an hour getting stuff done.

Start with complaints: totally lacking a waiting room spa or continental breakfast. Yup, that’s the negatives.
DT has taken care of my tires since ’96. I get quality tires and excellent service. The faces change, but the level of care taken to explain tires, alternatives and no charge services remains consistently high at this DT.
Now, let’s talk about the breakfast buffet again…

These guys are very knowledgeable on the science of tires and have great customer service skills. I appreciate their patience and speedy tire service. Keep it up guys!

Had a bubble in one tire so I started researching prices at nearby tire shops. As I had used them in the past, I decided to go with Discount Tire. Upon arrival, I noticed they were quite busy. So I was expecting a long wait time.
Had an online quote of $ 85 (with complete install) per tire. However, the employee helping me, quoted a price of $ 95. Upon showing him the original quote on my phone. The employee adjusted his quote, no questions asked. A very good way to do business, and make the customer happy, I think.
After answering a few questions, I was given a quote time of 45 minutes for the tire replacement. To my surprise, they had me out in under 30 minutes.
Way to go Discount Tire. Not sure why I was no longer a regular customer. But today’s experience will certainly have me going to Discount Tire for all my future tire needs again. Thank you

I love me some Discount Tire. They’ve helped me out several times when I’ve had a punctured tire, even when the tires weren’t purchased through them.
When it was time for a new set of tires, I made an appointment and had a very pleasant experience. They didn’t have the tires I wanted in stock, so I got a cheaper tire, with the reassurance that I had 30 days to try them out. I only had them a week when I came out to find one of my tires flat! I put on the spare and hustled over there, where they found a giant screw in the tire.
When the salesman asked me how I was liking the new tires, I told him I didn’t really care for them, and he hopped to and got me a new set of Michelins for not a lot more than the mid-​range ones I had at first. He also told me about a rebate program they had going at the time, and he was super helpful telling me the quickest way to get it sent off.
Buying tires sucks. Dealing with flat tires sucks. Doing business with Discount Tire doesn’t suck at all.

My boyfriend and I started experiencing a flat as we were leaving for San Antonio this weekend and had to turn around and find the nearest tire shop which happen to be Discount and another place, we chose Discount. They close at 5pm on Saturday and we rolled up looking pitiful at 5:06 pm. The Service Manager Tim came on out even though they were letting the garages down, the door was locked and 2 people were still waiting. He walked out to the car with a smile and was very pleasant and was able to assist us on get us back on the road with 2 brand new tires in no time! Even cheaper than what we were expecting to pay!
Customer service goes a long way and all of the guys that were waiting to clock out were eager to help! A big thanks to Tim and his staff! You guys are awesome and I recommend anyone in the area to try them out!

Great experience! Had two rims with a dent, Mazda dealership wanted $ 550/​rim and I needed four tires.
Went to Discount Tire on Slaughter and got 4 way cooler looking rims and four Perrelli
tires for the price of Mazda’s two rims.

I made an appointment to get a new set of tires at this location. As I walked in they were actually not terribly busy as I am accustom to seeing. Nevertheless I went in and the guy that helped me took the info he need from my tires and confirmed what I ordered online. Once everything looked good they took my keys and began the installation. I was told an install time would be about 45 minutes since I had an appointment.
They had me out the door in just under that. I’ve always used this company, with the exception of one-​hiccup years ago; I’ve never had any issues.
