I love Ihop as a whole. They have awesome food and awesome prices! This location is pretty small compared to most ihops I have ever seen, they need to expand badly! I’ve been here about 3 times now and yes their customer service isn’t the best and I think it’s due to management, every one just seams all over the place. My waitress have always been prompt and polite. There is this guy waiter here that is Caucasian and has short black hair(Chris? Not sure!), well I find him to really unprofessional, every time I come here his loudly complaining about what’s going on that’s wrong or about his own personal life. It’s hard not to hear him because his so loud and obvious. I hate to put ppl down but I just can’t get over how unprofessional he is every time I come here!

Not many people here at 5AM. Was seated promptly, served, and recieved food rather quickly. Ordered the Ultimate Breakfast. Really just your average breakfast, 2 eggs, 3 links, 3 bacon, hashbrowns, &2 pancakes. Everything tasted pretty fair, nothing outstanding. The hashbrowns could have had a better crust on them. Hard to beat Jim’s on Hwy 71 for consistency on that one. I had to wait through the 2 waitress dudes debating if so-and-so was joining the Navy because he likes guys in uniform, likes the ladies, or maybe both before the manager realized I was ready to pay and she took my money. Ha! Austin, you’re never boring. Actually, the hairy-armed waitress in a dress and hat named Dave and the drawf clearing tables at Nichols Lunch in Kansas City still ranks as the least boring.

Came here for breakfast on 8−18−12 because it was my mother’s birthday. We came in and they sat us right away. Our waitress was Erin. She seemed fine and engaging. She took our order which took a while to be brought to our table. The food was OK. It was your typical pancake, COLD eggs and sausage breakfast — very greasy and not to metion FORGETABLE. What stood out for me was how Erin came over to our table even though we were still eating and put the check on the table and said she’d take care of the bill when we were ready and she walked away. Then, we thought she’d let us at least finish our meal before she came back to follow-up on the check. She came back right away after she had left the check on our table and opened the little bill thing they put the bill in and said, «Do you need change»? Mind you we were still not done eating. I found this to be not only rude but unfriendly. It was as if she was running us out and pressuring us to finish quickly so that we’d leave quickly and she could get another set of customers sit in her area. NEVERAGAIN!!!

This review is for all IHOPS, not just this local. I remember as a kid when I would visit my folks in Chicago, my step dad would always take us to the IHOP. I freakin loved it! I would always get the chili bean and cheese omelet(I don’t think they make them anymore). As an adult, if I am in need of a colon cleanse, I head to the IHOP! Happens every freakin time. My dad thinks I’m crazy, but I swear it’s true! A colon cleanse for breakfast= NASTY!!!

Food arrived cold & was sent back. It returned in pieces. They nuked my wife’s breakfast & forgot her pancakes which arrived later in a to go box(even though we requested them for here). They re-cooked my eggs & nuked the grits but the toast was cold. The only saving grace was they comped our breakfast & thus the 2 stars. Sad because we usually like IHOP.

Let’s start with the server. she could have been worse. Not much but I could happen chewing gum and having on bracelets just makes me think how dirty her hands are. I was so happy someone else brought us our food. I might add she never checked on us tell she gave us the check. Now the food if our serve had asked I’m sure it would have been fixed but sadly it was cold when it came out and my eggs benedict were over done and only one had hollandaise the other one was served dry I made the mistake of ordering fruit it had gone sour over all one more try but if I get the server I will walk out on her

If I could give no stars I would. We ate here today and it was THEWORST dining experience I’ve had in a very long time. We walked in and it took quite a while for anyone to acknowledge us. A server said she would be right with us and kept waiting tables for a while before asking how many were in our party. She said, «OK,» and walked back into the kitchen. A few minutes later another waitress walked by and asked how many were in our party. We told her as the first waitress was walking back out of the kitchen. Together they walked into the dining room and looked around trying to find a place for us to sit. Seriously, you would have thought we asked them to build us a table to sit at. They acted like they had no idea what to do. Finally we sat down and one of them took our drink order. She went to get our drinks and left us with no menus to look at, no silverware, nothing. We realized what the problem was once we sat down. There were only two servers, but there were only 4 or 5 other groups in the whole restaurant. I kid you not, every table that didn’t have someone sitting at it was FULL of dirty dishes. Eventually, I got up and got a few menus myself from the desk at the front. By the time our drinks came, we knew what we wanted and ordered. I asked for silverware, so that I could stir sugar and cream into my coffee and by the time she brought it, my coffee wasn’t even hot anymore. The food came quickly enough, but mine had HAIRINIT! This was the last straw for me. I worked in the food industry for a long time, so I feel like I’m especially patient when it comes to the level of service I receive at a restaurant. Some things are just out of their control. However, this was totally unacceptable. Terrible service, filthy dining room, and unsanitary FOOD. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ever. Also, the baby changing table is behind the door, so if anyone is using it, no one else can go in or out until the table is folded back up. Seriously? I understand that there are flukes and sometimes a restaurant can just have an all around bad day. Maybe today, the manager, table bussers, and servers all called out sick.(I like to think there was no manager there at all, because I can’t imagine a person in charge letting a restaurant get that filthy and behind with just 6 tables). Maybe they also ran out of cleaning supplies and hair nets today. Whatever the deal was, we will not be going here ever again.

Dined IHOP for breakfast and they were super busy. They opened a new section and we were first to be seated. Waitress brought our coffee and tea very quickly and then left. She came back 3 times and we tried to order and she said she would return. Finally, after several more minutes, she took our order and our food did not come. Finally we asked«where our food was» after seeing people all around all getting theirs.(Remember …We were there first !!! After a brief discussion and several more minutes, she brought our food. Great food but terrible service !!! It takes all of the fun out of ones experience when trying to have a nice experience out with ones family on the day after New Years Day. I would avoid this place and stop somewhere else.

After eating too much fast food while traveling for a couple days, my family wanted a cooked meal. This IHOP’s customer service was spectacular, but the food couldn’t match it. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, just not great. They charged me my children’s meal when they posted the«children eat free» special everywhere and they made a lame excuse to say why they did. After I talked to the manager, it finally got fixed and I was on my way. As a whole, it was good and I would return.

I had an out-of-state guest who wanted to have breakfast at I-Hop because she had eated at one, while travelling, years ago and enjoyed it. I have to say she really enjoyed this one! Not only was the food quite tasty, but the workers were so friendly they made her feel special, and isn’t that what selecting a local place to eat is largely about? Our server was very friendly; helpful in helping my friend select the right items for a meal she could really enjoy, and our food came out quickly. Sure, it’s just a chain restaurant, but run by Austin folks who get service right, and I’m guessing that makes them stand out from the rest. I’d have given it 4 stars if it was a truly local business!

4 stars for IHOP, in the land of «I only support local businesses that aren’t chains»? Why, yes. See, the Cool Kids aren’t fighting to get in here. And the wait is a short one. And if your friend inexplicably likes that strawberry syrup, they have it. It’s been years since I had been to an IHOP, but a friend suggested we go. In the need of sustenance after birthday celebrations, it sounded fine to me. The workers were so friendly. They were very apologetic that we had to wait maybe 8 minutes for a table. The guy on the speaker would say things like, «Thanks for your patience,» before announcing the next name. He even said something when we walked up the hostess stand and the hostess apologized about the wait. We only waited a few minutes. Our server was so friendly. And our food came out quickly. All I needed was some bacon and pancakes. And hashbrowns. And coffee. And they all came out just fine. Yes, of course I like to support Austin businesses. But I just have to say the people here are so nice. And it’s not a cool kid contest. And it works. And the bacon was super crispy, as were the hashbrowns. And if you really just need food stat, it’s close to home.

Thank you IHOP — you guys got it right! We just came in from IHOP and not only was the meal simple and tasty but the staff was really friendly and attentive. Why can’t Magnolia, Kerbey Lane or 24 Café get it right? Now, I did notice that IHOP increased their prices by about $ 1. but they also stepped their level of service up to go with it. The menus are redone, the order was right the first time and Krista was excellent. THANKS! I had pancakes, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns for $ 8. with lots of hot syrup… they weren’t stingy with it. Won’t be seeing Magnolia, Kerbey Lane or that awful 24 Café no time in the next 12 months if IHOP keeps it up.

I was miserable, tired and just wanted pancakes. Apparently, my toked up pals did too. After spending 8 hours standing, walking and sliding in the mud,(yes, our Austin City Limits concert got rained out) the IHOP sign near the I-35 was a godsend. My blueberry grain and nut combo was only $ 7.95. Although my pancakes were dry, it was loaded with blueberries and topped with bananas. I doused that thing in old-fashioned syrup and man… all the aches in my feet and knees were gone.(slight exaggeration here) What made our experience so excellent was our server. Henry is such a nice, happy, dedicated server. If it wasn’t for his cheery demeanor, nothing would’ve cured my crankiness. I came hungry and left happy!

I give the three stars on this IHOP only because of the server, Tonya… I would give her ten stars if I could, and we all need jobs these days to put the pancakes on the table… I really never go to IHOP because I have never liked what is in their title… their pancakes are nothing special for me… We chose this location yesterday morning at 5 a.m. because there was a chain of events that ended up making this the best possible choice to meet up with people… Had I known what we were getting into, we would not have gone there but thank God for ladies like Tonya who work there… So, we were ushered in there in the rain and seated at a booth right up by the front where the door is… Once we got in the booth, the stinch that hit us was in a word, offensive… it was like a combination of pickles, sauer kraut, and body odor, or, as the others put it so eloquently around me, «stripper sweat smell.»(like a musk gone wild or like the scent of a woman who needs about 3 rounds of antibiotics stat, if you catch my drift, actually, you don’t want to catch that drift) so anyway, the reason the smell was so uncomfortable was because as people walked in, I did not want them to think it was US that smell had come from… bleh! Luckily, there were some great Motown tunes playing in the distance to get our minds off of funk spice’s after glow that we were literally sitting in(and we could not move because actually all the tables around us were taken, if you can believe that) and so we began to order. This place has got to be kidding with the prices. Two of us got the following: one belgian waffle, a side of hashbrowns, two eggs, and omelet and some pancakes… We had coffee and an orange juice to drink… that ended up soaking us 25 bones(without the tip, mind you!!!)! I wish I were kidding… we basically paid that much for batter, eggs, some slices of spinach and canned mushrooms on the cheese-less(which we have no idea why the omelet had no cheese on it?) omelet, and two drinks… The OJ was $ 2.89(the flashback makes me sick). Oh yeah, and when you go there, and ask for a cup of coffee, they bring you the pot and you have to pay 2 dollars for that even if you just drink a half of a cup… this is highway robbery… If I went to the store and bought what I ate it would have cost me maybe 5 – 7 dollars max… but no, we were in a pinch, and things were going too fast in our domino lives, and we ended up wasting so much money there… And I will also say, when the food was brought out, our silverware was not the cleanest, and I just did not have the heart to ask Superstar Tonya for a cup of dawn-ish water… so luckily, I found some chop sticks in my ninja bag and could eat the food that way… The only reason to go to this place is to keep people employed. Tonya was outstanding, she was rocking the Jersey and all the football flare in honor of the IHOP football promos and she even«sported» long pony tails but at least she had spirit that early in the morning… I have a new acronym for this place… it is IHOP which stands for I HAVEOVERPAID. I swear when I left, I saw a damn stack of pancakes with eyeballs on it like that damn stack of money on the Geico commercials… I have never felt so violated… (I blame myself for deciding to come here and do not wish anyone any thing bad and am so sorry for bitching, but come on!) I guess go here if you just have no time to go anywhere else, but keep in mind that it will be a lot more expensive than it should be!

Oh God help me, I ate here last night. I was waiting for some friends to get back to the Bearded Clam… or wait, is that the Lustre Pearl… and needed some food. I walked over to the IHOP, ordered just the basic pancake/egg/bacon/hashbrown combo and chose butterscotch pancakes. In retrospect, it’s my own damned fault. I’ve seen that Denny’s commercial where the make fun of the super-sweet candyassed pancakes at other places and I went for it anyway. They tasted great at the time, but I just can’t get past this feeling like I took a bath in maple/butterscotch flavored high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils. There’s a reason I haven’t been in an IHOP in 10 years, and why it’ll be a cold day in hell before I go back. I’m giving a star for the really nice servers and people hanging out there though.

Good Eats Like the normal IHOP you get your basic menu. IHOP is always throwing in different choices from the NEW chicken fried steak and eggs the to original breakfast sampler. This particular IHOP is always crowed in the mornings even on the weekdays. Lots of business brunches.
