I went to the Hi Tech Gadgets on Pond Springs Road in Austin, Texas next to Anderson Mill Rd. Their address on the internet is registered as 13 401 Pond Springs Road in Austin. If I could give them a «BIG FAT 0» for a rating I would. In the fall of 2014 I saw an advertisement on the internet that they would replace the screen on my iphone 5C that was cracked for 79 dollars. To save 30 dollars I drove all the way to Austin from Killeen to have my screen replaced. I should have looked at their horrible reviews before I went to their place of business because it would have saved me from wasting my time and my money on these characters. I went in and handed over my phone and it took them 45 minutes to replace my screen. They brought it back out and showed me that it worked. I took it home and put it aside and didn’t touch it for a couple of weeks. My intention was to sell it on ebay. When I charged it up I noticed that sometimes I was able to use the swipe at the bottom of the screen to get to the phone’s main screen and sometimes it wouldn’t work. I also noticed that sometimes the phone is cloudy and sometimes it wasn’t. I called them and told them what was going on and if I could bring the phone back up to them and have them fix it. The guy who answered the phone said that they would charge me 29 dollars just to look at the phone. I didn’t want to waste my time and gas driving all the way back to Austin just to have these morons jerk me around over this phone. It was obvious that they had used defective 5 dollars parts on my phone that they had probably ordered from china or off of amazon and charged me 79 dollars to replace. I expected that they would replace the screen and digitizer on my phone but it appears that they only replaced the glass itself and it caused condensation in between the screen and the digitizer and that the swipe part wasn’t working properly because whoever put the screen on the phone didn’t know what they were doing when they laid the screen part over the digitizer because they didn’t get the digitizer and the screen lined up properly or the screen is just plain defective. Who knows. I just know that they do not stand behind their work and from what I see from these bad reviews that they rip people off and should be fined for it. I am also going to report them to the better business bureau and I suggest other people who have lost money with these crooks do the same as well. Enough complaints made with the better business bureau may acutally make a difference.

I will definitely recommend… Denzel is your guy … I cracked my 6+ and when took it to Apple Store the did not fix it but broke the finger print scanner and glass pieces started to come off. This guys not only charged less than Apple Store but fix both screen and the finger print scanner. Their price for new phone and trade were good but I walked out for fixed phone for lot cheaper.

Would definitely not recommend. I shattered a screen on my iPhone 4S and had the north location fix it. The tech had trouble taking it apart and had to cut some of the metal frame. While this is not optimal, as long as I got a working phone that was ok.
End result, a barely functional phone — with the new screen — the phone is quite slow, the wifi and cellular reception barely works unless you are literally next the router. Essentially, the phone is unusable if you use a mobile on a regular basis or inside in a building. I tried to have it checked out during their 15 day warranty, but a different tech did a cursory glance at it and said it seems fine because while in the store, I was sitting next to a router. I even noticed that the bottom screws were missing so I ask for them to be replaced.
In the end, I decided to write it off as a loss as they don’t seem to keen on 100% customer satisfaction.

I love their service and steven is always very helpful and knowledgeable got a very good deal on a new iphone 6. And their repair time is quick and easy wouldnt go nowhere else just love them

The guys that work the front desk here are top notch customer service guys. They should get a job with a real company and they would be very successful. The owners though do not back up their product and will not help you if they sell you a defective item. I gave them three chances to make things right and they refused to budge. Notice the owners’ responses to the other Unilocal reviews. Not their fault, Not their fault, Not their fault.
After they replaced my screen I had to come back because of yellow spots towards the top of the screen. They admitted the screen they installed was defective with yellow spots. They said they would replace it but bring it in the next day because they were out of screens. By the time the next day came my screen had a little crack under the front button for no apparent reason. Screens shouldn’t crack just by being in your pocket It wasn’t dropped or sat on. They refused to replace it since it was cracked. It then cracked in 2 more different places on the screen under normal usage, without being dropped. Clearly glass was poor quality or put on wrong but not their fault
I signed up to Unilocal just to warn others so they won’t be taken by this guy like I and others have been. I’m sure Sam G. will have all sorts of reasons why they have dissatisfied customers but the bottom line is their star rating sucks and I wish I would have checked Unilocal before doing business with them.

So after I got my screen fixed the first time by them. The day I left with my «fixed» phone the digitizer started spazzing out and then the screen they installed cracked all by itself as if something was stressing it from the inside! So I took my phone to apple because the jerks at «hi tech“wouldn’t fix it and even APPLE told me that whoever replaced the screen did it wrong and that is was caused it to break! The guys at «hi tech» do a half way job and don’t use good parts and replace it the wrong way! If you look at all the reviews this place has they are all bad!!! I have already reported them to the BBB. Don’t waist your money on these people!

This store sold us a phone that had problems. When we tried to get our money back, we could not. They traded us another phone that just had different problems. Now there are no more trades, just «repairs». they claimed they put in a new battery, but it’s just another battery that doesn’t keep a charge either. We’ve wasted our money, now we’ll be buying another phone from somewhere else. I hear that Game Stop sells phones and allows for a real return if it doesn’t work out. I suggest you go there. I will be too.

Recommend shopping around. Had higher expectation than service provided.
Tablet screen repair:
— Pros = screen repair works, functional, staff was cool.
— Cons = screen edges makes squeaky noise and moves with gentle press, does not feel quality. Also left big long scratch on back of the unit from repair.

These people destroyed my Samsung note 2 phone after giving it to them to replace the glass screen. It was a horrible experience. Got them a new glass screen and there was water inside after screen change. Touch screen does not function at the bottom after the change.
They also made dents around the edges, when they have tried to open up the glass screen with a sharp tool. Was there few times to fix the water problem and they want to charge me more. Their excuse is the quality of the glass screen I brought in for them to change, as the reason for the malfunction. I am suffering from this big mistake. Now the screen acts on its own and dial numbers. Bottom of the screen does not work at all with even a stylus. Never again!

This place came up in my Google search for a AC adapter for a tablet I just bought. It was close to my office, so I figured I would give them a shot. I called them first and got their answering machine. I left my number and never got a call back at all. I roll in and this place is more of a repair place. Its not a place for tablets or accessories of any kind. The guy behind the counter was nice. He did try to find me on in the back but came back empty handed.
If you are going to advertise yourself as the «#1 place for high tech», you should carry parts and accessories for tablets and accessories. If I wanted a repair place, I would have gone to a repair place. The ads the owner places is at tad bit misleading.

I brought in a iPhone 4 that had a small crack in the screen, I decided to choose them because of the low price. After locating the shady looking shop I wasn’t sure about them but I was trying to save money. After they fixed it they just handed it to me and I left, my fault for not checking it, but I had groceries in the car and was supposed to go ship the phone to my mom so I was in a small rush… well after my mom got the phone and activated it, she called and told me that part of the screen was not responding to touch, so any buttons on that small spot were not working…, well shit!!! I wish they would have taken the time to show me the phone was in working order after them fixing it!!!

Bought an iPhone 4 from them, was so excited until it started restarting itself all.the.time. Fortunately, I was able to bring it back before the 7 day refund period was over. I get the second phone, bring it home and the wifi doesn’t work. I bring it to the store and they tell me not to return it, that it’s a bug that came with the new iOS system and once Apple come out with the new iOS the problem will be fixed. Guess what? None of the new iOSs fix this problem, it’s a hardware problem. Now I use the phone as a very overpriced iPod.

Tried to use a coupon from LivingSocial for water damage to my call phone. Turned out to be a come-​on for a bait and switch scheme. When I got there they said that it would cost me another $ 60 (plus the coupon, for which I had already paid) to fix my phone, even though the only thing wrong with it was water damage.
Stay away!!!

At first this place was starting to give me doubts mainly because I was getting the run around for two days and I had only heard good things from a friend that referred them to me. I took my iPad in to get the LED fixed and they ordered the part for me. $ 175. I had to wait until the part came in which took 5 days, but I was patient. When the part came in I took my iPad in and they told me there was a chance that the glass might break and that I would have to pay for half of it if it does. I told them, «noooope» and that I wanted a guarantee that if it does break, they would cover it otherwise ill go somewhere else. We argued for a minute, but the guy was actually pretty nice about it when he saw how frustrated I was getting. We decided that the owner would have the final decision on what was to be done about me getting it fixed there free of charge if the glass breaks. I got a phone call later on that day asking me if I wanted to keep the iPad, I told them yes and he said that he could maybe get me a new one and that they would keep my old one though I had paid for the part. It seemed like a sweet deal, $ 175 for a new iPad. I told him I was interested and he said he wouldn’t know for sure until tomorrow :(I was patient again and the next day I received another phone call saying my iPad was ready. When I showed to pick it up he had a new iPad there waiting for me. It was the exact same one, iPad 3 16 gigs, wifi. So I walked out with a new iPad and paid $ 175. Not too bad :)

We’re big fans. We bought an Iphone and Ipad service from here with no problems. These guys are for real and the reviews don’t reflect our 5 visits to the store. Even our child was happy with the service

They did not return my calls, nor they even answer the phone after they learn your phone #. Possible my business was not worth their attention.
Cannot speak about their ability to do repairs as myself luckily I did not need them. I just wanted to buy a phone.
