Crazy, Cool, Austin!
My daughter has been telling me that this is a fun tour and I’m so glad I finally got to do it! The car was beautiful, the people were friendly, the guide was extremely knowledgeable and nice, and the stories and history were more than I expected. The tour was surprisingly educational. We met some friendly new people and learned new things about Austin. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for an outing that’s a little weird and a lot of fun.

A great experience for an Austin newbie or anyone wanting a fun history lesson. Plus you get to byob and party along the way. The more drinks you have, the more you start believing the ghost stories, which certainly adds to the adventure.
Angela is a great hostess and very enthusiastic tour guide.

We recently went on 11÷29÷15 for my son 10^th birthday. It was 4 of us and had an absolutely amazing good time. Angela did a great job with the tour. We will definitely be doing it again.

This was a lot of fun for me and three thirteen year old girls. We rode in a hearse and the girls enjoyed waving to drivers from the back window, as if they were trapped inside. The driver/​tour guide, Angela, was careful about staying age appropriate in her stories but kept us all entertained. The stories are 80 percent Austin history with a twist of supernatural. The tour guide provided waters and sodas that were greatly appreciated by us. The hearse was perfect because we could see places that were several miles apart from each other versus a waking tour that is limited by geography. I would highly recommend this as a great way to spend a few hours in the evening with a group of people with varied ages.

What a fun experience! My family booked this tour to celebrate my mom’s birthday and we all had a blast! Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. It was tight inside, but on the night of our tour it was pretty cold outside so we enjoyed snuggling up with each other! Highly recommended!

I wanted to write an review because we rely on Unilocal to help us determine activities we choose to participate in. In addition, I sent an email directly to Haunted ATX Hearse Tours prior to posting this review and they chose to ignore me. We went on the hearse tour Saturday night 10÷11÷14 when my sister was visiting from out of state. What the site doesn’t mention is that the seating in the hearse has a lot to be desired. It is merely upholstered bench seating around the perimeter in the back portion of the vehicle. The problem is that with the small area that leaves for your feet, it is virtually impossible to sit upright with someone across from you, because there is absolutely no leg room.
Unfortunately for us, there was a party of 3 other individuals in the vehicle and although very friendly 2 of the 3 were morbidly obese. Trying to get the 6 of us in that hearse was ridiculous. We should have just stayed home and played Twister. Except for one bar where we walked up into the attic (nothing to see but storage) we didn’t see anything or go in anywhere that we couldn’t have gone ourselves. If you google haunted places in Austin you will find everything on the tour, no graveyards, or anything scary, more of an Austin history lesson.
For $ 40 we expected a relatively comfortable seat as well as a fun memorable experience, unfortunately we didn’t get either. I would save your money and look into other fun things to do in Austin, as there are plenty.

Had a blast on this tour! My mother in law recently moved to Austin and this was a great way to see some of the history with a fun spin to it all. It was a great time with a bit of an adventure around the metal hospital (you will just have to experience it…) and I look forward to taking more out of town friends on the tour! It was a great time and I can’t wait to get out there again!

I cannot recommend this tour high enough.
Chris is personable, fun and knows how to make sure that you get the most from the tour. We went this last weekend, split some bourbon while we drove around (not Chris, though, he stays sober) and the two hours flew by.
This is the type of small business that people should be supporting– innovative, great customer service and simply a lot of fun.

We took a tour last Friday and it was awesome! Very entertaining and spooky! We took pre-​teens with us and the stories and locations kept them very engaged! We even got a magic show! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Even if you are a true Austinite, you can not go wrong with taking this tour! You’ll see Austin in a very different way! (From a hearse! LOL!)

One of the best nights I’ve had in my 6 years living in Austin. Chris was funny and informative. I felt like a bad ass cruising around town in his classic hearse. I took 3 friends and there were a couple of out of towners along as well. I learned about many haunted locations I wasn’t aware of. I also learned how many brothels Austin used to have– ha! I definitely plan on taking this tour again in the future.

Not the high drama stuff you see on TV, but very nice. Chris knows his stuff about Austin history, haunted & creepy or not. We’ve lived in Austin for fours and still learned a lot. My aunt from Oklahoma just loved it and constantly asked Chris questions; which he always had the answer to.
This tour will be on the list every time we get out-​of-​towners and I recommend it to people of all ages. Some of the stairs can be daunting, but my 71 year old aunt, while slower, didn’t have any problems!
Thank You Chris. My aunt will definately remember her trip AND everyone that cancelled on her (she ended up traveling alone) is so jealous of the pictures!

My husband & I are in our 60’s, and was looking for something «different» to do. We called Haunted ATX Hearse tours. We would have loved to have gone during the evening, but since we are of age, we retire early. Chris gave us a Haunted Tour, and a History lesson as well. Would love to do this again in the future. I took 6 friends out for my birthday this year and we loved it! Chris did a great job explaining all the activity both recent and old. He has done his research and was able to answer all our questions. My friends are a bit of a hassel but it did not phase him. Thanks Chris for such a cool birthday!

I took 5 friends on this «haunted tour» for my 24^th birthday… freaking awesome! Chris was extremely cool and didn’t mind putting up with us all night. I already have plans to do it again with a few of the other people I wasn’t able to invite due to capacity issues. Thank you for making my birthday one I won’t forget!!!

Chris is awesome and has so many stories and fun facts. I went with a group of six and I think the locals (there were four of us) had more fun. It was great to learn about all the places that we drive by on a regular bases. I recommend this tour for locals to take out of towners on or to just go on themselves.

I took a first date on the Haunted ATX tour and we had a blast! What an awesome tour! Not only did we get to find out history about Austin, our driver Chris definitely added to the tour! Learning spooky facts about Austin was great! I would highly recommend EVERYONE to go on this tour. I’ve lived in Austin for 10 years and didn’t know 90% of the history that Chris went over in the tour. What a fun way to learn about Austin!

I hired Hauted ATX to surprise some friends at Halloween last year with a haunted tour of Austin. We had a blast! Chris, the owner (and also our driver that night) gives a great tour of old creepy places around town … and the best part is we were in an old vintage HEARSE!
The hearse is already a neat ride, but Chris has been upgrading some features. You can check out autographs inside the hearse from all the celebrities who take the hearse (to and from gigs). We really enjoyed the history of all the stops and just the whole experience overall. I loved surprising my friends by driving up to this hearse for a tour.
Call Chris for ideas on how to arrive at your wedding in a way that will shock your guests. Or if you’re planning a bachelor party and need a safe ride… the hearse, in this case, will get you home ALIVE.
