Hampton Inn Austin North @ I-35 and Hwy 183

I’ve stayed here a whole bunch of times for work and have never had a problem. The folks at the front desk are always helpful, everything is always in working order, etc. I think the price point might be a little too high, but … all the hotels in Austin are more expensive than they were even just a few years ago. Location is solid — it’s easy to go any direction from here. Do note — and the staff knows this as it’s a problem for them personally too — cell coverage for Verizon Wireless customers inside the hotel (and sometimes right outside) ranges from lousy to non-​existent. It can be frustrating. When I can find a different Hilton brand hotel nearby for about the same price, I will usually opt for that one just because of the cell coverage.

I give this place 5 stars not because it’s a fancy hotel, but for the friendliness of staff, cleanliness of rooms, updated modern look, and good breakfast. I was very pleased when I walked in.

Great clean hotel! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location is a bit difficult to get into and out of because it is located on a frontage road… but, the staff and well kept hotel make up for that!

Nice gentleman at check in but lots of hiccups. After our first night we had a new guest enter our room and then that afternoon our keys were deactivated by accident. We keep out towels hung up to reuse however when we returned they were taken but not replaced. Oh and the maid service must have needed some more energy because my finances Monster was missing! Very disorganized to say the least but the room itself was nice.

Ok, I travel A LOT and s rewards member for all the various Hilton, Marriott, IHC brands as well as both LaQ, and Best Western programs. I prefer Hilton brands, then Marriott and so on in the above order. So, I would say this specific property is bar far not the worst property I’ve stayed at but it is by FAR not even in the top half of the better ones either. It’s outdated and need as some extensive touch ups, remodeling and up dates. The hall ways are in bad shape, wall paper out dated, torn and stained and the hallways smell moldy. The elevators are absolutely horrible, slow and scary to ride in. The room was better, bed was comfortable and overall the room was clean. So my eleven nights were not too bad, but for the SE price could have stayed at the a couple of nicer properties by different brands just down I-​35.

If this was a la quinta, it would get three stars but I paid alot more for this room. Really, its is overpriced for being so far from downtown and any attractions. There really isn’t much in the area. Paid $ 150 for two tiny double beds and the most bare hotel room with no fridge or microwave. There was something up with the air conditioning. The halways were HOT and muggy. I thought the building was on fire a few times! My room was very moist. The bed and carpet felt wet because of the weird a/​c. Made it very hard to sleep. Pool was small and dirty (but it had been raining off and on) with no hot tub. The exercise room was small, three machines and freeweights. The luggage carts could hardly move, and the staff does not offer help. The elevators are really scary. They move slow and bumpy and the doors close very fast before you have time to get in. This is not the worst hotel, it is exactly what you would expect out of a motel 6, but for twice the price.

Pretty terrible Hampton. Great for a cheap night, but if you’re traveling business I would not recommend. Hallways are hot, muggy, and smelly, and the gym is absolutely terrible (treadmill won’t incline down, equipment is terrible). Otherwise the amenities are good enough and it’s easy access off I35N, but that’s pretty much it.

I stayed here one night over the thanksgiving holidays and it exceeded expectations. The room was clean an comfortable, but the staff were the most impressive. I left a ring behind after checking out and called the hotel when I realized. The staff were so helpful and considerate. Über at the front desk was there went I went back that evening to try and find it, and he went above and beyond and let me back into my room to search, where I found my ring under the table! I had an excellent customer service experience and will absolutely be a repeat customer.

Front desk people just meh.
Probably won’t stay here again. Disappointing for a Hampton Inn. It is in a good location though.

Like most Hampton locations, very predictable. That’s ok! No restaurant close by and parking is off to the side of the hotel (not close to the lobby).
Room was clean, friendly staff, and rate was ok for Austin.
I’d stay here again.

Haven’t even got to check in yet and already not satisfied. I hope the rest of the stay here is better. On
we were not advised that we couldn’t check in until 3. Upon arrival we were informed rudely by front desk that we couldn’t check in until 3. I’ve stayed in 100s of hotels and everyone has allowed people to start checking in as soon as a room becomes available. He was rude and informed us no rooms were clean yet, bc they don’t start cleaning until 12. It’s 115, so they still don’t have any clean rooms? How long does it take to clean a room? That’s an hour and 15 minutes, and they still have no clean rooms?!? When we asked if any would be available early he continued to act bothered by us and told us check in isn’t until 3. I hope the rest of the service is better. Will update when we finally get a room.
Update– after finally getting to check in (and missing our event because of the delay, the rooms are nice, they are clean, and the pool area was clean and well taken care of! They even have a handicap lift for the pool which is a plus for any hotel to have! Our original rude front desk person, Eddie, was gone the next time we came through and we didn’t have any more problems. The breakfast the next morning was good, but during breakfast we watched Eddie (who was back on shift) talking to other customers and noticed that his rudeness was not just with us, but everyone. So maybe he just needs some lessons on how to talk to/​treat people.
I also want to note that while we were informed while trying to check in that no rooms were available because they don’t start cleaning until noon, maid service was knocking on our door waking us up at 915 trying to clean.

After my last stay at a Hampton in Vancouver, I was hesitant to stay again, but I had to use my points. This is an above average Hampton in so far as the layout and tidiness of the rooms. The pool was nice and had a secluded feel. What made the difference here was the wonderful service provided to my family by William and Über — they went the extra mile when we asked for extra help or had questions and needed directions around the area. A+ for those two.

Really nice hotel for a soft price. I was impressed by the quality of the service and the room. The hotel has a pool, free Wifi and a (small but practical) fitness pool. This Hampton is about a 10-​minute drive outside of downtown Austin.
For this kind of hotels, the place is extremely well managed. Will definitely go back when in Austin!

Great location with comfortable and clean sheets, pillows and towels. Staff is helpful and pleasant. Complimentary breakfast is good with a variety of choices. I like that the staff has freshly packed breakfast for those guest who are running late or who need breakfast on the go. I was disappointed that the rooms did not have a refrigerator or microwave.

My first time staying in a Hampton hotel. I had no issues with this place. My room was nice. I had a great view of the pool and my covers were so soft and fresh. The breakfast was better than I expected it would be. I like the location of this hotel because you are surrounded with a good number of food options depending on what you like. The service of the staff was great and they were very helpful. I didn’t have to worry about loud guests or anything. I slept comfortably my entire stay there. But what I really like was the sticky note they left on the bed. I love sticky notes for whatever reason so that made me happy. lol. I did notice the bill for the hotel and it seemed a bit pricey for this hotel so I would definitely suggest looking around but it’s definitely not a bad place to spend the night or two.

One night for college visit, Kind of odd location, almost hidden beside freeways, though very quiet. Staff was very friendly, room was clean, had newer furnishings, bed was very comfortable, standard quickie breakfast offerings, would have no problem booking a night here again.

Stayed here one night on a business trip. Everything was adequate. Pretty standard as Hampton Inns go. One issue is that the parking here is limited near the lobby. Almost

This is definitely the worst HHonors hotel I have stayed in, in America. I travel a huge amount for work so I have been to a lot of other hotels.
The hotel is dark, a little smelly and just not a welcoming atmosphere.
If you like to loose the top level of your skin after a shower then you will really like the towels in the bathrooms!
Do NOT use there laundry service! I now have 3 ruined BOSS shirts and a pair of shorts!
It is not a pleasant hotel to stay in at all.
This is my first trip to Austin. I will not stay at this hotel the next time I am here.

This used to be an outdated property but it has been almost completely redone with new décor. Hallways are still pretty 1970’s but everything else is very modern and clean looking. Friendly service, quiet and convenient location. Probably best value of any Hampton/​Hilton hotels in Austin area.
