History

Established in 1987.

Gentry Custom Frames opened in Dallas back in 1987 in the heart of Oak Lawn, and opened it’s Austin location in 1995. Since the beginning, owner David Gentry has focused on archival & museum quality hand finished frames.

On graduating from the University of Texas with a fine arts degree, Gentry worked for 5 years with a gallery & framing business in Dallas to learn the business. Gentry has worked with curators, designers, and individuals to archive & enhance their collections. Numerous originals by artists such as Frieda Kahlo, Picasso, Chagall, Dali, Sargent, Calder, Kelly, Ansel Adams, and many others have been framed by Gentry Custom Frames.
