History

Established in 1979.

Davis Gallery & Framing continues the tradition established by Bill Davis at the Tarrytown Gallery in 1979. It serves as a home to many of the best local and regional painters, printmakers, sculptors and ceramicists. Bill has consistantly promoted a taste and style that has won critics awards and the respect of Austin’s art community.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Bill grew up in Baytown, TX and received a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Houston. He moved to Austin in 1975 to attend the graduate program in Studio Art at the University of Texas. While at UT he worked on the museum staff at the UT Huntington Gallery/​HRC Michener Collection which has since become the Blanton Museum of Art. With his experience at the museum handling world-​class artwork, and more than 25 years working as a gallery owner and framer, he continues to provide expertise in the field and to his customers.
