French in Austin offers news-​oriented French conversation classes

by a native French speaker who’s also a profesional journalist

(the author of the French in Austin website)

for French speakers who need to practice their language skills

in North or Central Austin

on weekday evenings or Saturday mornings.

Classes are limited to four participants so that everyone gets to talk and Cécile can follow their progress individually.

Each week, prior to the weekly meeting, each participant receives a French-​speaking newsletter comprising four French-​speaking news items selected to generate debate.

Then, during the class, each topic is debated after a quick presentation by one of the students, who take turns to present and speak.

To conclude each session, each participant is invited to share a French-​speaking news that interested them during the week.

Cécile then let students know which language aspects they need to review, based on what she heard during the session.

Cost: $ 20/​person/​session.

Business Owner

Cécile Fandos is a French journalist in Austin since Sept. 2011.

Upon arriving in the Capital of Texas from the French Alps, she immediatly started a blog in French about Austin: Austin Bulletin.

In March 2012, she launched the Texas edition of French​Morn​ing​.com, a webmagazine for the French speakers and the francophiles in the US.

In parallel, she started tutoring adults as well as kids in French.
