Experience FLC’s proven methodology which boasts a 21st century curriculum — not your high school language class! Connect to our language learning community through engaging social activities while building fluency. Our ‘core’ courses use an interactive multi-media approach and online-curriculum platform, while our events, book groups and ‘cafes’ put it all into practice!
History
Established in 2011.
Newly created by university-level professors experienced in the nuances of 2nd language acquistion and curriculum demands, Freestyle’s mission is to offer a wide variety of opportunities to practice language in a social, relevant context. We work towards building fluency (some of our students do so in several languages!) in order to connect to other people and cultures in a more profound way: in their language. Be a Polyglot.
Meet the Business Owner
Elizabeth M.
Business Owner
Owner/French instructor
Elizabeth is a true Francophile. She holds a Diplôme Supérieur for French business and has worked in research for the Chambre de Commerce in Grenoble, France and as Marketing Coordinator for L’Oréal, Paris. In 2007 she earned an MA in French Literature from the University of Texas and subsequently served for five years as Professor of French at Texas State University until 2012 when she left to form FLC. An Austinite of 17 years, Elizabeth enjoys freelance work in film subtitles, any time she can get on the greenbelt and western swing dancing (despite her two left feet). Freestyle Language Center allows her to spread her passion for all things French through a high-energy learning environment and social events, while becoming a true polyglot: learning Italian and brushing up on Spanish. As for the tremendous rewards to be gained by connecting to other people in their own language… c’est magnifique!
