Description

Specialties

We offer fun foreign language immersion classes in Austin for children from birth to age five. We believe that children in the age range we work with, birth to age five, learn through play. Because of that, we have created a curriculum centered around children playing and having fun. We know that young children soak up language like little sponges, so we immerse them in the foreign language while they play. Our classes will be slightly different each week but you will hear a lot of the same words and songs because we do focus on themes for a series of weeks for repetition. We will always open with the same hello song and close with the same goodbye song because it helps the children know when class begins and when class ends.

History

Established in 2012.

Owner Sarah Stasica started A Child’s Garden of Language because she wanted her son to be multilingual. She has always wanted to be multilingual but learning a new language as an adult is difficult. Children learn languages with ease; their brains are wide open to learning, and languages are no exception. As an English speaker, Sarah was unable to immerse her son in a foreign language at home. However, she found a (wonderful) nanny originally from Mexico so was able to immerse her son in Spanish.

After seeing her young son respond to directions entirely in Spanish, Sarah became even more of a believer in the power of foreign language immersion. She started A Child’s Garden of Language so she could share this experience with other families.

The teachers at A Child’s Garden of Language are native speakers who will be able to immerse your child in both foreign language and culture. They have years of experience working with children and are passionate about what they do.
